I must say, very rarely do I see a video done this well. Very informative, straight to the point... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Thank you mikeander18 truly appreciate the feedback!!
If only all installers were as clean and professional as you guys are...👍
Thank you for the feedback. We strive to do EVERYTHING in our power to treat both our owners and their vehicles with the utmost respect.
OEM Audio + it definitely shows.
Best how to video I've ever seen, on anything, period. Amazing!!!
Epic feedback @David Dotson!!! Thank you. Be sure to reach out if there is ANYTHING we can do to serve you.
I've had sound systems in virtually every vehicle that I've owned, & I always wondered how they did this stuff. I never had the gall to go back in the work area while waiting, as I couldn't stomach seeing my ride in beautiful shambles.. Impressive work..
Thank you for the feedback Shizz!
video could not be more well done. that is an impressive how to.
Thank you John!
Quick. and to the point. I have a 2013 with a subwoofer already. I was think of adding another sub and a 10" speaker.
personally I LOOOOOVE all recommendations for carefully removing parts and place them back without damaging the vehicle, most of the shops are plain pigs when working around and always come up at the end with "extra bolts and nuts"...VERY CLEAN AND INFORMATIVE
Thanks for your feedback Pirate Radio! It is our mission to deliver a complete high resolution audio system made and tuned specifically for the Toyota Tundra for seamlessly integrate and guaranteed results. It is our hope that this content results in more CLEAN installs amidst the Tundra community!
Excellent video and narration! Awesome for DIYERS
Got to hear this at their recent event.. WOW!!
Excellent instruction by a very professional installer. Love the Pebble watch too :)
Pebble still exists? Lol. That’s the blackberry of smart watches
It’s great that you use gloves, I see so many installers not using them and they get fingerprints everywhere.
An amazing how to, subscribed!!!
Well done details. Love it. Wish you guys would install my stereo upgrades.
We would be happy to assist you with your installation (or at least point you in the right direction).
Very good video!
Great video. Congrats
You guys know your sh.. very professional job well done 👍
Great instructions!
THIS VIDEO IS VERY VERY DETAIL AND WELL DONE MAYBE IN THE NEXT VIDEO WE CAN HEAR MUSIC WITH OLD SOUND AND WITH NEW SOUND
Thank you for your Awesome feedback! Regarding a sound clip: Unfortunately there are several limitations to attempting to capture the sound quality over a video. Between the limitations of the microphone we use, compression of CZcams and the playback device you use be it computer speakers or headphones it will serve as a lackluster representation of our high resolution sound. That being said we would LOVE to see if there is an demo opportunity in your area. Send us a message (experience@oemaudioplus.com) or give us a call (855-636-6346)
That truck is cleannnn
Excellent work
Awesome video🤘You rock bro
Thanks Justin. Takes awesome to know awesome.
wow...you can tell this guys must be trained Toyota professionals !!...the attention to details for Toyota owners is amazing > Rarely I had to use the services of my Toyota dealership and nothing but loose ends and scuff marks and issues ...
Thanks for your feedback Johny! We truly are truck and music enthusiast and want to ensure we provide instructions that best equip our owners to perform CLEAN installs with guaranteed resolution results. Be sure to reach out if you have ANY questions regarding our sound solutions for the Tundra.
This is great, what would i need for a 2019 toyota tundra crewmax 1794 with jbl sound. thanks
This was already installed in truck when purchased. Is there an upgrade to duel subwoofers?
Amazing tutorial!!!!!!!!!!! I hope sound system works as well :)
Thanks Ed. Would you believe as clean as our install is (truly plug and play) it pales in comparison to our signature sound. But don't take only our word (we've got a bit of a bias), here are a handful of Toyota Truck owner reviews: bit.ly/TW_reviews
Very nice reviews!!!!! Thank you very much for guiding me there. It was very helpfull for me to make a decision.
My truck should arrive in couple months when should I order the system?
We'll be here when you're ready Ed! Tundra sound solution typically ships within 48 hours.
Good to know. Ill get back to you just let me get my car firs then.
Is there a replacement speaker for the center dash speaker for tundra? I'm only seeing speaker packages for 9. I have 10.
JBL Entune 2014 Platinum Edition
I have a 2020 tundra platinum and am interested in this kit. I see you can get dual subs with this kit. Are there holes already tapped for the second sub and will this second sub get its own amp and a separate harness? Are there any videos on this dual sub setup?
After all that about 1:47 in, I was like never mind I just leave it the way it is. I Am good on that ✔👍
Don't even own this truck, just a damn good video.
Pretty cool for a diy'er but not enough power. I made my own shallow box and fit 2 12 inch rockford fosgates and changed all speakers to rockford fosgates all amps rockford fosgates too. Woofer amp under driver seat and speaker amp under passenger. Crossover inside side panels. 😎 best boom and clarity .
Well done - love watching this. Inspires even the layman to buy your product and brave the install...after I spend the $ for King coilovers on my '14 TRD. In the meantime can you guys upgrade the sound for 06-15 Mazda Miata? The sound system suuuuuuuucks. Can't hear squat with the top down
Thanks Benjamin! Thanks for the AWESOME feedback! If you find yourself watching thinking "I could do that" we can say with confidence that you can! As you noticed we literally include every clip and panel in the video (we figured this was better than giving you surprises during the install).
What if you don't wanna sub can I just use the amp to make my sound come out louder?
Great video. Please do a 2015 xle Highlander please or where can I find some info for speaker sizes for this vehicle.
+brp0u12 thank you for you're feedback!! With enough demand we'll supply - And we have received a handful of Highlander requests. Stay plugged in (Subscribe or follow us on a social channel) it is our intent to continue to revolutionize "Car Audio" one vehicle at a time.
Do you make a system for 2010 tundra crew max ??
Is this the same JBL system that comes in a limited crew max?
I have a 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and it comes with the JBL sound system but it sucks so bad. I’m even embarrassed to put it at full blast cause it’s just tweeters and voice but no bass and it like limits the sound. What can I do to make it better without spending too much money and make it sound at least decent like a regular sound system??
This is great, what would i need for a 2015 toyota tundra crewmax with jbl sound. thanks
Thanks for your feedback Christopher!! Here is our proposed sound solution for the vehicles equipped with the JBL system: bit.ly/Tundra-JUP-OAP
let us know your thoughts
can you please do a 2006 Toyota Tundra King Cab
What if u wanted to add 1 more sub on the other side? Is it possible??
Great video, next time try a before and after of the audio
Thanks for the awesome feedback! Unfortunately there are several limitations to attempting to capture the sound quality over a video. Between the limitations of the microphone we would use, compression of CZcams and the playback device you use (computer speakers or headphones) it will serve as a lackluster representation of our high resolution sound. Mind if we ask where you are located? Perhaps there is a demo opportunity in your area.
I need one for my tundra where you buy.
Hello I want that for my tundra, where are they located and what is the price? Thank you .
How much for the protective blanket install?
Is there a system for my 2016 tundra limited double cab TRD Off road? I have the E-tune premium now.
+John Kaminski compatible with the TRD OFF Road Tacoma Dbl Cab! (So sorry for the delayed response). 2016 install video will be up in the next week. Product page here: bit.ly/REF45Q_2016_Tacoma
Would love to try this, but I can never find a 10mm
Will you be making a version or can this system be modified for the double cab TRD Off road?
+Mark Jeffrey compatible with the TRD OFF Road Tacoma Dbl Cab! (So sorry for the delayed response)
How much the installation cost OTD?
Where can I get the quyck sync wiring harnes for my tundra?
Our Quick-Sync Wiring Harness is found in our complete Sound Solutions for the Tundra. To confirm, you are looking for just our Quick-Sync Wiring Harness for the Reference 500 Tundra Application (as seen here), correct? Please note our Harness is made specifically for our proprietary connectors and components. We want to ensure we are only offering you something that delivers our standard of results (perfection).
do you have anything like this for a 2006 Sequoia with the factory JBL sound system?
Hi Bobby! Thanks for your message. At this time we do not have a solution for the Sequoia models. With enough interest (demand), we will pursue this platform.
Well I was asking because I know the Tundra and the Sequoia share a lot of the same technology so I don't think it would be that hard adapting to it. I was thinking even if there was a solution that included the factory speaker replacement, amp and the sub connection where we could install our own sub or connect something like a JL audio Stealthbox. I know there's a ton of 1st gen Sequoia's on the road so would probably be worth your while
How can I listen to the sound system upgrade. I really want to hear in first hand before deciding to purchase.
TehTerrarian Panda completely understood. May we ask, where are you located?
OEM Audio + how much does this particular system cost material and labor?
Can i just replace the factory amp with your aftermarket amp and will factory speakers be louder
Yes! We call this our Stage 1+ Upgrade (Includes 1" Soft-Dome Tweeters... Because they make that much of a difference).
Would this upgrade to the base sound system on the tundra produce better quality compared to the platinum tundras with the JBL speakers from the factory?
@Russ dawg
No, this upgrade will not be *significantly* better than the OEM JBL Platinum system. That's because the JBL Platinum system is also just mediocre for the price you pay for that upgrade!
Premium OEM audio system upgrade options are one of THE most profitable add-ons for both the dealer and automaker! Just adding More CHEAP Speakers and a wimpy OEM amplifier does not result in truly superior sound!!! Sure, it will be better than a base audio system, but NOWHERE near what can be achieved with a high-quality aftermarket stereo install that is installed properly.
If you spend $3,000-$4,500 on a completely custom aftermarket install from a REPUTABLE shop using high quality products (including a DSP that is PROPERLY Tuned), you can achieve a VASTLY SUPERIOR system compared to a "Premium" OEM system in every regard! GUARANTEED.
The key and hard part is finding a truly reputable shop that does high-quality work, and who will not hack your vehicle and OEM wiring to pieces, and an installer that actually knows how to properly set up and "tune" the DSP with multiple acoustic spatial-averaging microphone measurements.
Thorough knowledge of proper OEM integration into the factory head unit, or a properly executed aftermarket radio replacement with a high-quality head unit, is also extremely important. Otherwise you may lose important OEM functions such as audible turn-by-turn NAV prompts, Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free calling audio, or HVAC, Heated Seat switches, and other integrated OEM controls.
But there are many 3rd Party OEM integration solutions available now that offer even additional integrated features over the OEM head unit. OEM integration modules such as the iDataLink Maestro RR & AR, PAC Audio AmpPRO 4, NAV-TV ZEN A-to-B, MoBridge, Rockford-Fosgate DSR1/Maestro, WaveLink, and Metra/Axxess DSP, etc can offer BOTH better Sound Quality AND additional features such as Performance Gauges, TPMS display, HVAC controls, and Dual Function Steering Wheel Control buttons by using either a single press or "long-press" of each steering wheel button.
Ultimately, GARBAGE IN = GARBAGE OUT! You must start with a high-quality SOURCE signal or it will forever be the bottleneck of the system. And Toyota's OEM head units/stereos have a reputation for being among the worst in terms of Sound Quality, along with Hyundai/Kia. :(
BUT, if you can find that truly professional shop and DSP tuner relatively local to you, you will be AMAZED at the quality of the resulting stereo system, and you won't ever regret spending that amount of money for the audio upgrade!
One of the absolute MOST IMPORTANT aspects of a GOOD stereo system install is Proper Sound Deadening Treatment of the vehicle, Especially where any of the speakers or subwoofers are mounted.
I would urge you to look into the new *ResoNix Sound Solutions* products that have been independently tested and proven to outperform many competitor's sound deadening products such as Dynamat Extreme, KillMatt, Noico, SLP, KnuConcepts KnoNoise, HushMat, SoundSkinz, Damplifier Pro, etc.
*ResoNix* products might seem more expensive up front, HOWEVER, you will need to purchase and apply Much Less of their products to acheive the Same Results as competing products! Check out the *ResoNix Sound Solutions* Application Guide and Installation Tutorial, as well as the testing results, on their web page. The owner/developer of *ResoNix* is Nick Apicella of *Apicella Auto Sound* who is a top-notch fabricator/installer and DSP tuner.
Sealing ALL openings and holes in the sheetmetal of the doors where speakers are mounted is ESSENTIAL in order to achieve the best performance from the expensive speakers that you have purchased...
It's easy to make a $1,000+ set of front component speakers actually sound worse than the OEM speakers if they are not installed properly!
If the sound waves from the front of the speaker are allowed to interact with the rear sound waves of the speaker through even small openings in the door's metal panel that they are mounted in, you will have severe cancellations of the midbass frequencies that provide up-front impact and bass, as well as ragged overall frequency response. That's NO BUENO!
Professional installers will use inexpensive, but heat-formable 1/8" thick ABS plastic sheets that are cut out to fit and seal the large openings in the door sheetmetal. 1/16" aluminum sheetmetal is also popular for this. Both should have at least a CLD material (Constrained Layer Damping sheet commonly referred to as "Dynamat") applied to both sides of the filler panels before they are installed.
Small, self-tapping sheetmetal screws around the perimeter of the opening can be used to install these so that they are easily removable and replacable if the door lock actuators or electric window motors ever need to be serviced. Riv-Nut inserts can also be installed so that machine thread screws can be used to install or remove these panels.
The speakers must also be mounted to SOLID, high-quality baffles or mounting rings that will not deteriorate inside the door cavity due to moisture or extreme heat or cold. No type of wood should be used for speaker mounting adapters inside the doors. Even marine-grade Baltic Birch plywood is not acceptable for this use IMO.
And while some type of dense, weatherproof plastic such as HDPE, ABS, or Sintra (expanded PVC sheet) is the preferred material to use for door mounted speaker adapter rings, the lightweight and flimsy off-the-shelf plastic speaker adapters from companies like Metra/Axxess are mediocre at best, and they do not provide a SOLID mounting baffle for high-end speakers.
Head over and sign up to the Car Audio Internet Forums at *DIY Mobile Audio* or *Car Audio Junkies* and start a new thread there to gain knowledge and information on what products to use and how to best install them to achieve the best possible system given your budget. Make sure to list your exact Vehicle Information (Make/Model/Year/Trim Level/OEM Audio Options) in the Title of the thread so others that have your same vehicle will be prompted to chime in with their knowledge.
My user name at both of these car audio forums is "bbfoto" and I'd be happy to answer any further questions when I have the time.
@Russ dawg
You also might want to Search CZcams for the TUNDRA "Installer Diaries" on the *Five Star Car Stereo* CZcams channel, or their application-specific installation tips on the *Dean and Fernando's Car Stereo Clips* CZcams channel.
These videos contain a wealth of information in regards to properly installing a high-quality aftermarket stereo system.
Is it possible to get a bigger sub in the back? Like a 10 or 12?
Thanks for the question! We elected to utilize an 8" in our subwoofer system specifically with the overall musicality and acoustics of the Tundra in mind.
We knew when deciding on the 8" Subwoofer system that it would be a bit of a "obstacle" for the consumer mindset. Our team evaluated an 8, 10 and 12" option when performing our initial R&D - And it was apparent, if we were going to be true to our promise of producing High Resolution Audio that delivers Clean, Crisp Clear sound and deep low frequency reproduction that is felt as much as heard... It was going to have to be our 8" Quad-Coil Subwoofer.

OEM Audio + Cool I’m in the San Diego area. We will be in Anaheim for a several days at the end of June. Any chance you guys can do this setup install in my 2014 Tundra crew max?
Sounds like a plan! Feel free to give our team a call to set up your end of June appointment. Installation typically takes 4-5 hours. We are relatively flexible regarding scheduling (accommodating both early morning or late afternoon at select times). NOTE: We build each of our sound solutions to order. Any luck providing a system for Tundra years '07-'13? Good video!
YES!! The '07-13 Tundra Crewmax shares the same chassis and components as the '14+ Crewmax. We're looking to put together an installation video with a local truck in the near future to take into account the difference in vehicle disassembly (with that said... where are you based out of?). Thanks for the feedback regarding the video!!
I'm in the Atlanta area. Btw, my stock JBL Toyota head unit was antiquated the day I bought it in 2012. Toyota is glacially slow to update its components, probably an indicator of the bean counters who won't invest as Ford is doing.
Do you have this kit for Rav4 2017 ?

Is this setup pretty loud?
Miguel Tinoco You can expect an 8-10 dB increase in loudness. Which translates to more than double the volume of the factory setup. All the while introducing clarity, high fidelity detail and weight to the overall listening experience.
OEM Audio + thanks appreciate it!
Please see below!
will this also replace the JBL system, and if so is the quality any better? I personally think the JBL system is junk
Kendall Koch We offer an upgrade specifically designed for your Platinum/Limited Tundra based on acoustical measurements we made on the your JBL system. JBL Enhancement Product showcase: oemaudioplus.com/toyota/jup/
Our solution is to simply add our Tundra specific subwoofer system and upgraded dash 1-inch soft dome tweeters. This is made possible using a wiring harness we provide to connect the subwoofer output of the JBL amplifier to our subwoofer amplifier. The replacement tweeters offer an extended operating range in comparison to the JBL tweeter. The results are improved dynamics and clarity without introducing distracting characteristics (such as excessive bass/colored midrange and highs) to the current system. In short, a very much improved sound quality without compromising the functionality of your vehicle.
We are confident you will find this package to be an upgrade over your existing configuration, all the while maintaining all vehicle functionality and appearance. Let us know your thoughts and we encourage any questions - It is our mission to personalize your experience.
Sold! I'm getting this set up no questions about it!

Nah fam, I'm good
Type shi
$1399 for the system?!!! Nah, I'll pass!
D-bag
I paid $3500 for a full fosgate system so thats not a bad price bro.
@Nemesis 74
LOL, $1,399 is a completely reasonable price for the Completely hassle-free Plug-N-Play system that they are offering.
Maybe if you have the DIY installation experience to install your own system, you *might* be able to come up with a slightly better system on your own for the same amount of money, but I highly doubt it would be as simple to install or as Plug-N-Play as what they offer.
As @Terry Reyes stated, in order to achieve a *significant* improvement in sound quality over this simple Plug-N-Play solution, you would have to spend quite a bit more for high-quality component speakers, amplifiers, and a PROPERLY TUNED DSP. This install would include at least some amount of sound deadening/treatment of the vehicle in the door speaker locations, otherwise don't even bother upgrading the speakers.
Along with Terry, I'd say that ~$3,500 would be the starting point for any REPUTABLE SHOP to install a *worthwhile* upgrade in SQ to a premium OEM system.
That would be roughly $2500 for equipment and $900-$1000 for installation labor. Average shop labor is at least $80-$90/hour, and such an install would take a full day to do PROPERLY.
Any less than that and I can GUARANTEE you are going to get a HACK JOB. And while it may include decent equipment, it will NOT be installed and tuned at a Professional level, and you would most likely have to spend more money later to fix the F'ups done during the install.
This video is very informative and well done, however the person narrating misspoke four or five times. A couple examples are when he said remove the rear passenger seat and he meant drivers seat, as well as when he said install the 40A fuse and then showed the camera a 30A fuse.
Hi Joshua, thanks for the feedback and bringing to our attention the erroneously spoken points of narration. We TRULY appreciate discerning listeners such as yourself! Let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Should have undone the positive before the negative on you battery.
Over priced by $500
I Know You're Right But if you go to car toys or any other car audio place... it would be triple that for installation.
$3700 for a Tundra Crewmax..... what a joke. If I spent that at a professional shop I'd get a complete system rebuild with high end components... and I wouldn't have to do it myself or retain any stock equipment.
Good video...BUT they are NOT "10mm bolts" they are 6mm bolts with a 10mm HEAD... And it's not. "Socket Wrench" it's a RATCHET
really nice instruction. well done!! Thank You
Thanks for the feedback mountainbikermc!! Let us know if we can further be of service.
