I feel crazy making this move during a pandemic - but it has been nice seeing your experience to see what Barcelona is like during this time. Well I am a Spanish currently living in Spain and I am sorry to say you that things are not great. Some of the cities are starting a semi quarantine again, which means that the people cannot enter and freely exit from their cities unless is for work or health reasons and Madrid is under emergency state. There are rumours that the city of Barcelona is going to close the bars and restaurants during October :(
@@maryparry I hope so things will be getting fine soon and we will get vaccine soon.. And we all will be able to live our lives as on routine...
@@usamayounus8228 yeah I hope so. I lived in Barcelona for 2 years and I can't imagine what would it be to still be there and live this situation. Barcelona is a wonderful city to explore with so much life and things to do. 😭
@@maryparry I had to move barcelona in feb 2020 but covid stopped me and now again i have to wait for feb 2021 to move ..I hope so that things will be alright till jan 2021.and world will be covid free..

Just keep up the type of content you've been uploading... it's really great. I like the adventurous ones as well as the food ones as well as the heart to hearts... I think the heart to heart at the end really wraps up the video nicely. Study hard and have fun in Spain!

Si vas al Mercadona tienes que comprar (como lista de la compra sana jajaja): Kéfir, queso batido fresco, pasta de lentejas, soja texturizada, tomate triturado (no el frito), la mermelada 0% azúcar también está muy bien, harina de avena o copos de avena, el queso havarti, chocolate negro 85%, las tiras de pollo que vienen ya hechas y la crema de cacahuete. I started watching you when you moved to Germany this year for your internship! I am here for the European content and seeing what schooling is like as an American in Europe! You’ve inspired me to consider pursuing an MBA in Europe (Germany specifically! I spent a summer in Berlin and it was amazing!!), which is something I’ve always dreamed about but never thought was a possibly but really now seeing your life abroad, is something I want to make happen

My supermarket recomendation is the chain Esclat - Bon Preu. They are all over Catalunya and offer good quality and fine environement for shopping. It is going easy for you to find one in Barcelona city.

Hi Katie and I’m form Zaragoza, Spain, and I love too Mercadona; I can recomend you the guacamole from Hacendado, this is the ñame of the brand jajajaja, is sooo good, the variety of cheese is incredible, the greek yogurt is one of my favorite; i don’t remember anything else.
Sorry for my english jajaja I try to improve everyday but I have some mistake and I hope you and your friends try this recomendation and enjoyed it.

Hello Katie, a Spanish viewer here. I am here to tell you about Mercadona as you asked 😂 I am currently in a love-hate relationship with that supermarket. I think that their prices are very good and that their own brand "Hacendado" has great things but I find that if you always go there to buy your groceries is kind of boring because the selection is not huge. Also, their cosmetics and skin care products have a huge success and everything is pretty affordable. I lived in Barcelona for 2 two years and I definitely recommend to try some other places like Carrefour, Caprabo or Condis. Also I love your videos and I hope you and your friends are staying safe in this difficult times. ♥️

It must be an abroad thing when it comes to those conveyor belts at grocery stores. When I visited Montreal, the Walmart and Target had that. I'm American myself, so when I saw that in Canada my mind was blown too. But I feel like I've seen that in large city areas in the states too. I could be wrong.
You HAVE to try the Boldu pastries, they are like doughnuts but shaped as lil men, very famous in Barcelona and very yummy. They have a wide variety and can personalize everything

Q: Are your classes in English, Castillian or Catalan? It seems like you're spending most of your day speaking English, is it that accurate - or do you need to use other languages to function day to day?

Mercadona is the best price wise but I don't think it is the best quality wise. In my opinion the best one is Plusfresc (it is catalan tho so you won't find it outside Catalonia)
