  • Took our 1997 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas out for a drive. This is one of the most beautiful cars and, even though it is only a six cylinder, she is a lot of fun to drive. We've had her for an absolutely problem free 13 years and 100K miles.

I have one and have the same problem (headliner, spent $120.00 to fix it) and the sunroof but besides that, its a great car. Get one, you'll love it.

I am being honest here-This the most fun car I have ever owned. I now have two and crossing into a third. They are expensive to own and operate properly. I am still paying for the mistakes of others. I've never seen a "DEAL" on a JAG-Enjoy & wait for the right car-God bless & happy motoring-Sacrifices may be a reality

@code13bmb As long as the car has been well taken care of (check maintenance records), there should be no problem. Parts are not at all unreasonable and a majority of the car is very simple and not complex to work on. This particular car has about 100K miles and we have had absolutely no major problems. The only thing I would mention is that the headliner in the rear tends to fall down in these cars (just check that out car by car). The ride is wonderful and the visibility makes up for length.

Sweet car! I have a few questions though. Im looking to buy one and would info from someone who owns one. Ive noticed the car is somewhat long, does that affect driving in anyway? Also, is the ride smooth? Finally, does it cost an arm and leg to replace a part on the car? The one im looking at is the same year and model so any and all help would be appreciated.

@GeminiMoods It's a terrific car, but take one for a drive and you'll be able to decide yourself. Best of luck, buddy!

The car isn't as long and wide as they appear.... Mainly because they are so low.... It's only 5m but looks longer!
