As I was editing this video I definitely regretted the placement of the Drum Synth. If I remade this list I'd put Drum Synth as A tier.
What's your favorite Logic Pro Plugin?

In a recent discussion of old Yamaha FM synths, several folks agreed that those synths don’t sound very impressive when soloed, but they work extremely well in a mix or when doubled with other sounds. Given the simplicity of the FM Synth plugin combined with the utility of “boring” FM sounds, perhaps you should give it some further consideration. Not every sound needs to draw attention to itself, right?

I think that last sentence is a fantastic point that I’ve learned as I’ve grown older. I use to worry too much about how each element sounded individually rather than how it contributed to the full mix.
I fully agree that the FM synth is worth a deep look!

Monophonic synth deserves to go higher. It's my go to for sub bass. It cuts through the track very easily

pulling up the stereo version of the drum kit designer and not the multi-output one, and not even MENTIONING the mix possibilities you have with tracks for every virtual drum mic. a travesty.

Definitely a rookie mistake on my part! I was mainly trying to give a simple and concise explanation of each plugin so the video didn’t end up running too long.
I’ll definitely add a drum kit designer deep dive breakdown to the list of future videos to make!
