    A very informative video that forms a useful reference for connecting zigbee devices. I should like to add that this device also works directly with the Echo Show 10. No need for an additional zigbee hub just setup the switch for pairing ( as stated in the supplied instructions) and use the Alexa app to discover and add the device. A very straightforward and clean solution.

    Most of the no neutral's are only suitable for lights due to needing to draw current through the load to get power. Not really suitable for high power/low resistance loads or motors.
    It is great to see more no neutral light switches coming out. It makes retrofitting a lot easier.
    I don't think these switches have any mechanical or solid state relays. I am pretty sure they would use some kind of electronic switching so they can get leakage voltage to power the device when the load is on or off. Usually the no neutrals use TRIAC similar electronics for the switching (or dimming for dimmers). That's part of the reason for the lower current rating also. In it's most simplest form it basically has a large value resistor across the TRIAC for getting a small current flow through the load when the load is off, and when the load is on it relies on pulling that tiny voltage drop across the TRIAC to get power for the circuit. Of course the actual circuits are more complex than that :)

    Very good video, thank you for that. One of the things people in my opinion would like to know is actually how exactly the switch type setting works. This is because not everybody in the household would be happy about having rocker switches that sometimes turn on when you flip them up and other times it turns on when you flip them down. I would imagine that that is the way the "flip to change state" works.
    Can you explain a bit more how the "State synchronous" works? I would image that if the light is off and you flip the rocker switch up then the light turns on, and i you turn the light off in the app (the rocker switch stays up of course) and you would need to flip the rocket switch down to "synchronize" (so both the app and te rocket switch are in the off state) and only then could you flip the rocker switch up again to tun the light on again. Is this it?
    Thanks again for such an informative video!

    it small but thick, so installing in a wall box will be still challenging, as with all the other similar switch. also i think there's no actual relay in the no-neutral switches, they work by dimming the light to a minimal level until it turns off. also having multi-click or hold switch functionality would be extremely useful.

    • @EsotericArctos
      @EsotericArctos Před 2 lety

      This is one of the smallest in wall switches I have seen, but any in wall switch will be tricky in small wall boxes.
      Click and hold and other more complex functions are not usually common on no neutral devices due to the way they pull power and the fact they have a very limited amount of power available to them and as such need the processor to be in its lowest power mode.
      That said, like you, I am hopeful it can be done. I know AEOTEC Z-Wave Nano dimmers can use a momentary type switch to do a toggle of the light, or hold for dimming. I have not seen others yet to have multifunction switching on no neutral

    Hello, we are currently installing these on our switches but we have run into an issue. We have connected the module to the switch and the lights turn on. But the problem is the lights won’t turn off when we use the switch. Keep in mind I have not connected it to the zig bee hub yet. Are the lights supposed to turn off using the switch regardless if the zig bee hub is connected or not? Or have we missed something with the wiring which is why it is not turning off. I apologize for the lengthy question and I appreciate your very informative video.

      @csongorvarga  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes, in my experience these switches work even if the it is not set up. The physical switch always works as a normal switch. If this is a multi gang switch can you try and move the capacitor to the first output. Maybe that is the reason.

    What happens if you click both buttons on the physical switch at the same time? With some 2-gang zigbee switches it works correctly (the 2 lights turn on and off) and with other zigbee switches it doesn't work (only one light turns on and off) (this seems to be related to the chipset used by the zigbee switch). How does this Weten product behave?
