      Hi Kathy,
Thanks for your comment, so glad you liked the wind chimes project. Sounds like you found a good way to make the hanger, the whole idea behind these videos are to give the viewers ideas and then make them their own, GOOD FOR YOU!!! You can try and make the wire hanger at a later date. When you have time check out the two videos called Fresh Start and Fresh Start 2, they will show you some more ideas on different things to try on the wind chimes. Again, thanks for your comment and so nice to hear from you!! Please feel free to ask me anything about these video projects. Have a great day.

      Hi Kathy,
You are more than welcome, the copper wire ones are fun to make, and the wire isn't very much cost wise. I got the wire from Amazon along with the glass beads. I liked the 16-gauge wire best for the ones with the glass beads in them and the 14-gauge copper wire for the ones without the beads in them. When you have some time check out the video with Me and My Granddaughter in it making a small Sun Catcher. The hangers in it are made out of 14-gauge copper wire made into a spiral. I made a nice-looking hanger also.

      Hi Jacci,
Thanks for your comment, so glad you enjoyed the video project!! If you look at the video again you will see all the outside chimes line up, the inter chime doesn't because the center square is larger than the center squares on the three outside chimes. I could have made them all the same and then they have all been in a straight line. I appreciate your comment and hopefully if you make one you can make them all the same so they will line up. Hi again,
Glad you enjoyed the video, it's an easy one to make and you can make it any size you want. Here's the name and size of the split rings I use for these wind chime. Large ring is made by Yueton and is 16mm in size, the smaller ring is made by Huihuibad and is 6mm in size. Both split rings are Nickel plated so after some time outside they will start to rust. They seem to be fine if used inside the house. Both of these split rings are from Amazon. I tried some stainless-steel split rings to help with the rust problem but couldn't open them up large enough to get them through the glass pieces. Keep your eyes open, there is going to be a follow up Wind Chimes video on how to make your own glass design, using glass paint and fusing it in a kiln. I should have it done by the middle of next week. Thanks for your comment.

Great to hear from you again, glad you liked this project. It's a fun one to make and you can make it any size you want. If you think you might like to make this one, I will give you the different sizes for the split rings. They are both from Amazon. Large one is 16mm made by Yueton and the smaller one is 6mm and made by Huihuibad. Both are Nickel Plated and will start to rust over time outdoors, they seem to be ok if used on a project used indoors. I tried some stainless-steel split rings to help with the rust problem but couldn't open them up enough to get them through the holes in the glass. Best of luck on your project. The 12-gauge copper wire is standard ground wire for the home and you can get it at the hardware store by the foot. Again, thanks for your comment!!

      Hi Karen,
My worktable has a 3/4" plywood base and a 1/2" Homasote #440 - Sound Barrier on top. You can purchase this Homasote Board at an old fashion lumber yard. It comes in a 4'x8' sheet, and most lumber yards will cut it the size you need. If you just want to buy a small sheet both Amazon and Delphi Glass sell a 24'x24' sheet. It's a little pricy. You can also find the metal push pins at both of these places. They have two different lengths, one is 1/2" long and the other is 5/8" long which is the one I like best. So glad you are finding these projects helpful and hope you will try making some of them. If you have time check out the video on the fused candy dishes and send me, your vote for your favorite one. Going to post the winning dish this weekend, so you still have time to vote. Have a great day!!

      Hi Didi,
Thanks for your kind words and your comment. Yes, you could do it in one piece and solder jump rings onto the frame, that would work. I just never liked the idea of soldering jump rings to hang anything on. Also, it's hard to get all three sides the same size when bending the wire to make the tringle. I think you could give it a try; you would only be out a little wire and some jump rings and your time if it didn't work out. Let me know how it works out for you. Have a great day!!

Can you tell me what these drill bits are called? And what firing temps you use for this glass? Is is necessary before you drill or did you just want it for the look? Thanks again Bill. Hi Again,
Thanks for your kind words, so glad you took a look at the Wind Chimes video, The drill bits are from Amazon and are called Jingling Diamond Grinding bits 2.5mm and 3mm, I like the 3mm best!! You don't have to fire the glass to drill it. I just like to fire polish the edges for the way it looks. A good starting temp is between 1325 and 1350 degrees for my kiln. If you go too much hotter the shape of your glass will start to get wavy on the corners. I have also started using copper wire and glass beads to put these wind chimes together, there is a video I made showing how to do this called Up Dating a 5-year-old Wind Chimes. I did this because the split rings I was using started to rust after a year or so. Also, if you like fused glass check out the video on the Candy Dishes. Here again if you have more questions, please feel free to send me a comment and I will try to get you an answer. Have a great day!!

      Hi Again,
Glad you could use some of that info!! Where are you at, not sure where NL is at? We are located in Southern California in Temescal Valley, about 50 miles east of Los Angles. Remember to use water when using these drills or you won't have a good outcome. We used to live in Lake Havasu City, AZ and we had a lot of wind also and I never had any of the wind chimes break as long as didn't hit up against a wall or a post. When you get it done give it a try outside, the worst thing that could happen is you get a couple broken pieces, replace them and call that a bad idea!! They look so great with the outside sun shining on them!! Let me know how your projects come out and if I can be of any help, please feel free to send me a comment to my channel and I will see if I can come up with an answer for you. Envoy your day!!

@@billstonesstainedglasscrea3310 Hi Bill.. Newfoundland is the most eastern province of Canada. I used to live in Victoria, British Columbia for years. It was my very first military posting. I was so surprised because Victoria was like a tropical paradise compared to NL. I was wearing shorts in February hahhahahha. NL often can get even 100km/h winds even in the summer so that is why I was talking about the glass maybe not surviving lol. It can be worse in the winter. We have a place near to where you get off the ferry to the province called Wreck House. Transport trucks often get blown over......BUT seriously the province is beautiful and I am often finding new and exciting places to explore right here at home. I will most certainty use the water for drilling the glass, and I will let you know how things go! I picked myself up some nice fluorspar too from the mine near St. Lawrence so I'm gonna try to tumble that and use in it in some of my projects. If I ever get the time to do it all lololol. Hi Therese,
Great to hear from you again!!! When I first started to make these hangers, I did use a single piece of #12 Copper Wire. The problem I had was it was hard to get all three corners the same size and at the exact length in between the centers. If you don't get it right the first time, then you have to bend the wire again to either make it longer or shorter. The Copper Wire doesn't really like to be bent back and forth several times to get it to fit just right. If you decide to make this project, you can give the one piece of wire a try and see if you have better luck than I did. Again, great to hear from you and thanks for your question and comment.

Sorry I don't have a template for the frames on these wind chimes.
The wire frame on these wind chimes is made with 12-gauge copper wire from the hardware store, you can buy it by the foot as bare wire without any insulation on it Then I just spray it flat black. To make it I just draw up a 4" wide 45-degree tringle on a piece of paper and bend the wire to match the shape as close as I can to make the inside of the frame, then I bend up the corner pieces and solder then all together. Hope that helps you out, if you need more info, please send me another comment and I will try to give you some more info. I can't remember if it's on this video or another wind chimes one where I show you how to make the frame. Have a great day!!
      Regards,
