P.S: for anyone asking about Harald, yes, 5155 would be better like for Guan, being his second skill conquering-related. BUT it’s a very lucky and difficult situation to obtain. So if you really want Harald to be effective, you need that third skill at least. Just bring the first skill to 5, then unlock the others and hope for the best I guess :) but that forward into the game, I guess you will decide which your direction is and you will have the sculptures ready, no matter if f2p, low spender or high spender! I hope this further clarifies the Harald situation and will be helpful.

Nice guide, in my mind everything was spot on apart from the fact that discussion on Richard is missing. We see Richard lead being used all the time, especially in kvk and also for miscellaneous things like barb chaining and events. The real question is how valuable is Richard and how much should you invest in him? I think the answer might vary depending on whether you are a f2p, low spender, high spender as well as if you are a starting player, a 300 day player or an 800 day player. Me and my friends tested Constantine Jo/Mulan on a 5 vs 5 basis, with me holding all my aoe nukers unchanged, he replaced Constantine Mulan with Constantine Jo, surprisingly to Contie Jo's performance is almost on par with more expensive Contie Mulan. Even mulan gives damage amplification and reduce rage, massive 3 sec stats buff, but the troop he left on the field is almost almost same as Joan's.

My setup as a low spender (150euro) in KvK 6 was: Alex/Richard both maxed // Charles/joan both maxed // Saladin/William both 5551 // El Cid/ YSG 5551 and max I run only with 4 marches atm, because one free for runes and rallys is rly nice to have and for 5 marches i would need another Infantry commander. I will probably upgrade guan before next KvK, then i have 5 solid marches (Guan/ alex and richard/aethl). I made with those 4 marches over 30M kills this KvK so quiet happy with them

But for me France is better for inf, just because health is hard to boost and it’s such a important stat. I too prefer france especially because I use 1 non infantry march (ram ysg) and it buffs all troops health, hospital healing tips it over for me. If I was running 5 inf marches I'd consider rome but even then I love france's multiple benefits

It's impossible to trade negative with a maxed charles/harald with good tech when getting swarmed so it's a good way to farm kills which is why people use the pair. even when getting swarmed by 10 or more marches and getting wiped, every trade is positive. it's the infantry version of attila takeda, just free kills.

You should 5-5-1-1 Leonidas. After that, if you have Constantine and Charles in a good level, you can go for Zenobia with Theo and be the Garrisoner. If you dont have those Charles Cons, then you can go for Harald and be the rally-field fighter.

I have Guan Alex both maxed as my main pair. I'm wondering how max Guan + Leonidas 5511 is compared to Guan/Alex both maxed, because I'd like to free up Alex to pair him with YSG. Any suggestion?
I will invest in Charles Alex, pairing. Why? Because of the march speed, I am mainly cav commander and need the fastest infantry march to support my cav in battle. Please note that season 2 is your goal, because season in season 3 the field battle is pretty much only around the ruins and in season 4, it's the crystal mine kvk lol.
I liked the at first but then i take it back because of: 1- Constantine Mulan is no better than Constantine Joan d'arc. Joan d'arc has huge impact to the game, murderball, and even small fights where Mulan has nothing to show for. You can even go and watch Fleisch making tests, or you can make your own tests. 2- Richard 5/1/1/1 is walking hospital bill nothing more. You can use Scipio, Eulji Mundeok, Sun tzu or even Diaochan instead of this walking hospital bill healing slave Richard. For me, 5-1-1-1 is an empowered lohar, just for barbing. 5-5-1-1 is okayish, 5-5-5-1 is big investment but he can work pretty well in most of Ruins fights. 3- Why shouldn't you consider this as a 5 march pairing? For example, if i use Guan-Leo, Alex-Harald, then what to do with Cons-Martel or Cons Joan, and Richard. Thank you for the video wick. I am still considering if staying for Zenobia-Harald, 600 days, especially in Heroic Anthem kvk with F2P is worth it or just go back to kvk2. Great Content.
Good observations. I’ll reply one by one with my view: 1) You need some Mulans, the buffs stack. It’s always healthy to differentiate what your murderball is getting. Just need to check with your team; 2) 5111 is for beginners/low spenders and I put him last because of that, in a fight he is no good. But his utility in events and other stuff make him a very good choice considering the investment of only 50 gold heads. Then as you said from 5551 he becomes actually decent if geared up properly. For Canyon, you need him, for barbs and events, you need him, for fight well if you don’t have anything else you can use him if you know how to use him; 3) I don’t consider a wise choice to have only one troop type focus, it’s not getting you anywhere. You must differentiate your KvK/Osiris/OF marches basing on different troop types and basing on what’s coming into the game at the corresponding Kingdom Age. You cannot go all Inf, or all Cavs, or all Arch. It’s very not productive :) I hope this is a clear view of my point. This guide means to be a general indication for many players, then each one of us has a different playstyle and will make proper choices accordingly. Cheers and thanks for the support!
why would you do harald 5551 when his second skill is rallying and his 4th skill is field combat? shouldnt you always go 5111 and then work on him till 5x55, same as Guan?

The strongest pair is still richard/Alex I tested many times this so even after kvk4 I'm still using it. Both maxed. Guan maxed with Leo 5511 like you said. Constantine is 5511 plus martel nearly maxed but only from gold keys. I would use martel primary with const in open field not to be targeted so much. I spent 20 euro on this game and I'm struggling with my garrison but like you said there are big spenders who lead garrison. I won some sculptures in MG of artemisia and for me she is great because as a low spender I can use her on the field too not like the other garrison commanders but of course she is more focus against a/t rallies but did you tested her with zenobia ? I will use her with martel at the moment but I'm thinking about better pair for garrison. Getting old in this game lol 😆

Nope, Leo needs some more skills. On an investment standpoint, if you don’t have Alex and you need a quick pair, for me leo 5511 is the best choice for only 190 heads. Then when both maxed I would always go with leo.

Your Guan is at an excellent point, use him already, you have time to max him. I think that if you have a max Alex you should use him. If you skill up Leo more then you can have better results

Yes, for a rally lead he needs to be maxed. Trust me, Leo as second to Guan is great for both rally and OF.

Your Guan is at an excellent point, use him already, you have time to max him. I think that if you have a max Alex you should use him. If you skill up Leo more then you can have better results

france saves you speedups, rome makes you stronger in the field. comes down to what you want.
