    Nice job buddy. The area is so clean I feel like you could be way more efficient with a grading bucket

      Thank you man, glad you liked the video. I appreciate the feedback. I have been very excited to get this channel going to share the work I do and communicate with others here on CZcams who are also interested in this line of work. Thanks for the support!

    You may have already said it but what is your ideal 3/4" base depth compacted to? and then the depth of the chip rock is just the depth of the pipes?

    Do you use a laser to establish grades ? Just curious because I didn’t see you use one. If not what did you use ?

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Před rokem +1

      Hey man, I just use strings, line levels and stakes. The old fashion way. I haven't hit a big enough project yet that I felt the need for a laser. The more installs you do, the easier it gets to know heights. ✌

    How does the concrete hold back the pavers? I saw in one of your videos you put rebar in it. Do you always do that?
    Also, should I get concrete under the edge of the paver to prevent it from tilting down at the outer edge?
    Thanks in advance

      I do not always use rebar, here is a video on how we do the concrete edge restraint 👉czcams.com/video/_X1tCmMJQqk/video.html

      @@TheChristianHardscaper Thanks. I'm just outside Toronto and had a contractor over to look at my backyard. When I mentioned concrete edging he looked at me like I had two heads. He also suggested A gravel which has some fines for better compaction and then the hpb stone bedding on top. I trust you more than this guy so I'll go with the 3/4 clear and hpb (high performance bedding). I'm trying to do the work myself but my wife suggested I hire someone to excavate the project and install the gravel. Just getting quotes for that.

    Great video. I had a stupid question. I am looking for a contractor to get an area ready for a parking lot. I want to use water-permeable pavers. What kind of contractor do I look for?

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Před rokem

      Thank you. You can call some hardscape companies but you will most likely need more help than that if it is a very large area

    Made it look easy. How deep did you dig?

    • @TheChristianHardscaper

      We excavate 8-12 inches depending on the subsoils, this one was right around 10 inches throughout ✌🏻

      @@TheChristianHardscaper when you say depending on the subsoils, what are you looking for? I'm starting right up against the foundation of a house and working outward, I don't want to seriously perturb anything by going too deep. Once I've determined the level of my pavers, what do I look at in the soil to know I can stop at 8" vs needing to go 12"?

    Great videos. Do you hire a separate company to run the trucks for excavation?

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Před rokem

      Thank you! In my older videos, I worked for my cousin and he managed all the trucking. But in all the latest videos, I am working for myself and take care of all the hauling myself.

    Will Polly sand dust stain decorative stone?

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Před rokem +1

      If there is a lot of it, maybe.... When you have extra sand / dust, clean up as much as you can and use a leaf blower to remove the dust. Then when you water down the Poly, just wash the stones of at the same time.
