The Secret History of the Kennedy Assassination

  • As the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination approaches, persistent questions still remain. Bestselling author and former New York Times reporter Philip Shenon addresses those questions and more in his newest book A Cruel and Shocking Act: The Secret History of the Kennedy Assassination.
Based on hundreds of interviews and unprecedented access to the surviving commission staffers, Shenon concludes that senior officials of the U.S. government, especially at the CIA, destroyed evidence and lied about the assassination and the events that led up to it.
Chris Mondics of The Philadelphia Inquirer moderates this discussion with Shenon on November 18, 2013 at the National Constitution Center.

Most of them are released now, and nothing new. It would be interesting to see something on Joseph Milteer, Jack Ruby the plot in Chicago that maybe are not filled under the assassination? Also there was a fax sent, I heard, warning of possible assassination, there was that newspaper 'Wanted' announcement with black trim, was it investigated? What did Ruby know about it?

CIA would be shattered, and US prestige would suffer, but that is the right question to ask because if the official story were true why does the CIA keep trying to hide documents every year such as those involving JM Wave. It’s outlandish that no main stream media tells the truth to this day.

As a variation of Occam's Razor, I would suggest that (having worked in government bureaucracy), that one should assume incompetence, laziness, personality, inefficiency, and the closed and secretive nature of any bureaucracy before thinking that that one memo from Thursday's departmental meeting in 1966 is going to prove there are space aliens living among us.

If Oswald killed Kennedy it meant he shot a rifle a couple hours before apprehended in a movie theatre.
The real mystery is not why would he shoot Kennedy.
Rather why did swabbing his face while in custody show no nitrates were present.
If he did not have nitrates on his face it meant he did not shoot a rifle that day.
So if he did not shoot a rifle why wasn't he released.
And why did a mobster kill him.
Keep in mind there is considerable evidence according to motive, means, and opportunity that the CIA and the mafia killed Kennedy.
And why was LBJ on the floor of the second car in the convoy Before the Shooting Started.
    Why, why, why?
    Here is my answer.
    Treason doth never prosper.
For if treason were to prosper
None would dare to call it treason.
    Otherwise we have Oswald's
    Own words, I quote him.
"I didn't kill anybody. I am the patsy."
    If he himself wasn't murdered
    The necessary evidence doesn't
Exist. He would have been acquitted.
And we now see three murders
    Were done that weekend.
    Kennedy, Tippet, Oswald.
So of course the media had to do its
Cover up and say for decades
How it was slam dunk Oswald did it.
And has spread the lie for over 50 years.
It was a coup. And that is no lie.

That doesn't bother me. He's a writer. He needs to make a living. If his book were something preposterous, as is so of the books of the fantastist/sociopath, Jim Marrs, outrage about the author's flacking his book would be justified. It isn't. I have always believed Oswald pulled the assassination off entirely by himself, but this "Cubans in Mexico City" matter fascinates every LNH ( Lone Nutter Hypothesizer ) I know.
Vincent Bugliosi's magisterial book, Reclaiming History, slices and dices all of the conspiracy ideas, but even he had to admit he couldn't figure out the Sylvia Odio matter. The brilliant Jean Davison, whose book, Oswald's Game, is a masterpiece of diligence, reasoning, and insight, couldn't figure the Odio matter out, either.
Both of them believed her. I believe her. Bugliosi and Ms. Davison couldn't figure the puzzle out, and neither can I.
Granted, the Sylvia Odio matter is not the same thing as the "Cubans in Mexico City" matter, but to be metaphorical, it shares a lot of the same DNA with it.
I think it's entirely plausible that the Cubans, realizing they had a 21 karat gold psychopath on their hands, might have played upon the pathetic bastard's narcissism, telling him that while they could never acknowledge him, he would be a great hero to the Glorious Revolution of the Cuban people if he were to kill the imperialistic pig, Kennedy. It's occurred to me that they might even have told Oswald about the Kennedys' attempts to get Castro, knowing that if he ever talked about it, no one would believe him.
Oswald, a nihilist, would have been thrilled to have his imagined great significance confirmed with this kind of stuff. The Cubans would have judged it an extreme unlikelihood that he'd ever do it, but would have reasoned intelligently that they could never be seriously implicated in an assassination of Kennedy, and that if they somehow could be, a President Johnson wouldn't risk a nuclear war over it.
Ideas, but valid ones, I think.
Is the graveman of this author's argument credible? I think it is, but in the end, it was still that evil bastard, Oswald, who killed Kennedy.

What do you see in those photographs?
Why did Oswald receive $200 per month (corrected for inflation $1670/month) from the FBI? Or is there a reason to doubt that?
Was Nixon mistaken when he said that Jack Ruby had workt for him and was one of Johnson's men? And what about Nixon's note not to investigate Jakob Rubenstein?
What about the taxi driver that brought Oswald and Ferrie to Ruby's nightclub?
What about the people in New Orleans that knew Oswald, Ferrie and Ruby, like Anna Lewis?
      czcams.com/video/NyN37x3OfHs/video.html
How did the Mauser change in Oswalds gun?
What about the fingerprint of Johnson's hitman Wallace on the box in the snipersnest?
Why was the nitrate test on Oswald's cheeks negative?
Were all the confessions of those people who survived and spoke out lies?

I just watched a video interview of President Nixon from 1983 and he tells of how and when President Kennedy was shot. The timeline simply does not add up. I can't be the first one to have put this together but here it is. If the Kennedy assassination had just happened and it took 20-25 minutes for President Nixon to get to his apartment and call Hoover. How did Hoover know that Oswald was a communist and had shot President Kennedy? President Kennedy has shot at approximately 12:30pm CST/1:30pm EST. The first national news bulletin of the shooting was transmitted over the ABC Radio Network at 12:36 p.m. CST/1:36 p.m. EST. Dallas police officer J. D. Tippit was shot and killed by Oswald at 1:15pm CST/2:15pm EST. Oswald has finally apprehended in the theater around 1:50pm CST/ 2:50pm EST.
At 12:40 p.m. CST/1:40 p.m EST., CBS became the first television network to report the news. So people in New York heard about the shooting somewhere between 1:36pm EST and 1:40pm EST. Something doesn't add up here! How did the FBI know that Oswald was a communist and had shot the President so soon? People at the airport would have known that the President would have been shot and Nixon would have heard it there. Does anyone else see the problem here?

    I don’t know if the lecturer is trying to provide disinformation or actually believes what he’s saying. But, 15 minutes in, I stopped watching. After having read upwards of 20 books on the JFK assassination most of them exploring conspiracy, this guy already has two things completely wrong in 15 minutes;
1). Oswald likely wasn’t involved in the assassination as a participant but as the “patsy” just as he himself told the press. John Armstrong wrote a book titled “Harvey and Lee” detailing all the irregularities and outright lies surrounding Lee Oswald’s involvement in the assassination. Mark Lane’s series of books on the assassination also does a great job of detailing the impossible journey of Oswald to becoming the assassin with so many irregularities and things the Warren Commission says he did. It’s now 2020 and Oswald’s files and tax records are still classified and unavailable to the public. If Oswald were the true assassin, wouldn’t those same files have been released immediately to prove his guilt?
2). The speaker erroneously says Arlen Specter did a “bang up job” as a member of the Warren Commission. Numerous books that have been written detail how Specter outright chose to misrepresent and deceive the public and anyone who might read the commission’s report. His creation of the “magic bullet theory” is a gross piece of fiction that not only defies the known laws of physics but also logic itself.
So, I appreciate the effort of the lecturer but it’s quite obvious he hasn’t done much truthful research on this subject. He says that he didn’t want to be just another book on the assassination without having something to add. Sadly, he ends up exactly as the countless others who all either intentionally or unintentionally conclude wrongly.

      - where Oswald's weapons were

      - Oswald wouldn't simply stand out in the street to watch the parade and give himself an ironclad alibi
      - no bullets or fragments would ever be found that were not matched to his weapons
      - Oswald would immediately flee the TSBD
      - a cop would be driving at 10th and Patton at exactly the right time for an imposter shooter wandering the streets of Oak Cliff to shoot him
      - the cop won't simply outdraw and capture the imposter

There is a scientific formula for conservation of momentum, I think you will find it's impossible for an object to maintain that kind of momentum while passing through one or multiple objects. He was standing at the left of the underpass over 80 ft from the car, it's highly unlikely for it to be a hit. The Bullet would have needed to pass through the car after hitting Kennedy, if shot from that angle, then hit the pavement, with a fragment of bullet or pavement hitting Tague on the cheek.
Plus, the bullet was coming from the other direction as seen by the impact on the pavement.
More important questions never addressed are: Why did the Secret Service break 15 standard protocols for the Motorcade? Why was Kennedy's personal agent left behind at the Airport? Why are the motorcycles and Secret Service runners ordered back from the lead car?
Why is the President the lead car? Why are no agents on the Presidents vehicle, he has the runner boards in place?

I find it interesting that on the basis of his book summing up the 9/11 commision, his next act is to write a book on a 50 yr old crime this next that there's 2000 books on already and contrary to popular skeptical belief his thesis ultimately supports the original official conclusion (if the WC is so correct does it really need another book supporting its' conclusion?). Now he pops up on Politico (and quoted in Town & Country of all places) to say that there's nothing to see here in the newly released documents (thanks for figuring that out for us pal!). Highlights: "scientists support {the single bullet theory}" and blaming JFK's grossly compromised autopsy on Jackie Kennedy (if only she hadn't demanded on a navy hospital and been in such a darn rush -she just wouldn't leave until the autopsy was completed!), and is an apologist for Humes burning his autopsy notes (there was blood all over them, and you know, they, might be in a museum someday!), BS about Howard Brennan (complete obfuscation). Interesting Freudian slip at about 32:09, where he says 9/11 commision where he should say WC. The questions and Shenon's answers seem rehearsed. On Jack Ruby his mob connections are "low level connections" - (yeah Sam G was low level! check the phone records before the assassination) And Ruby was "mentally ill", and nothing ever "panned out for him". Oh and the WC investigators are so angry, if only they'd known about the details that came out later, they would have proven their thesis even better.

Dorothy Gardner was also on the fourth floor. She saw Victoria Adams and Sandra Styles hurry down the stairs and shortly thereafter she saw Officer Marrion Baker and Roy Truly run up the stairs.
According to the Warren Report Lee Oswald ran down these stairs from the sixth floor after killing the president. According to the testimony of NINE people the Warren Report is a LIE!
The testimony of NINE people back up Lee Oswald’s testimony. He was accused of killing John Kennedy and J.D. Tippits, but the paraffin test conducted by the Dallas police PROVED that Mr. Oswald had NOT fired a gun.
With the testimony of nine people and no gun powder residue on his hands or face any judge would have released Lee Oswald after hearing this evidence. That is why Lee Oswald was murdered so quickly. His death prevented this evidence from being presented in a court of law. I know that George Bush Sr had one of his oil field's in Cuba plus he was passing out machine guns from the USA..to Fidel Castro's men Felix Rodriguez he was the guy that was supposed to assassinate Fidel Castro but that plan was put on hold for some reason..The bottom line the key player was George Bush Sr. and the CIA there was a total of three shooters in three different positions..Why after 60 years is Joe Biden keeping this information from the American public everything is still in the archives some of it was taken out by Donald Trump for the American people but not the important documents..They might keep this a secret forever and we will never know..If Trump wins 2024 maybe then he will pull everything out of the archives and let the American people know exactly what happened from beginning to end so we can put this to rest after all for the 60's he was an American president that cared about the people that's why so many people loved this guy and still care...

A police officer by the last name of Baker heard a shot from the book depository. He looked up and saw a rifle barrel poking out a window. The rifle was quickly pulled inside the building. Officer Baker ran into the building and spotted a Mr. Truly. Apparently he knew Mr. Truly and ordered him to accompany him on his journey into the building. They ran up the stairs and in the 2nd floor break room they spotted a man walking away from them holding a bottle of Coke a Cola in his hand. Officer Baker asked Mr. Truly, “Who’s that man?” The man turned around and Mr. Truly said, “Why that’s Lee Oswald, one of our employees.” Officer Baker said, “OK!” Then they ran up the stairs to the other floors. Three female employees were on the 4th floor looking out the window when they heard the shots. Because of the trees blocking their view they couldn’t see what happened, but they feared the worse. Two of those ladies immediately went downstairs to the 2nd floor break room. Who did they find in that break room drinking a coke? It was Lee Oswald. Four witnesses could place Lee Oswald in the 2nd floor break room just a few seconds after JFK was shot. Had Oswald shot the president he would have to have ran past those ladies to get to the break room since there was only one set of stairs in the building and the Freight elevator was not working at the time. The “Powers that be” had two kill Oswald quickly because these 4 witnesses could prove that he was innocent. This author obviously left this important piece of historical evidence out of his book because in his opening remarks he is blaming Oswald. This author is either deliberately misrepresenting the truth or he was too stupid to find it! Either way his book is a waste of time and so is this video!🙄

It's really not a reasonable position to back the Warren Commission's official version. Every part of this case, has at the very least, an element of doubt about it. If you accept that almost any case will have some anomalies then it would be reasonable, but alas, there is a mountain of aspects that contain serious doubt - and quite simply, you'd have to have some sort of pre-existing agenda to dismiss that amount of contradictory evidence (a few to wit: witnesses who heard shots from the grassy knoll, Oswald's intelligence connections, Ruby's connections, the misidentification of the Mauser/Carcano, Oswald on the second floor, LHO being driven away in a rambler, the shambolic autopsy, the casket being different in Dallas, the timing of the shots, the head of JFK going back and to the left, the acoustic evidence, the unlikely nature of the single bullet theory and many, many more.) All of these individually could be debated and ultimately dismissed but it's just silly to dismiss them all, in fact, it would be bizarre given the massive amount.

Even Allen Dulles was known to have been less than impressed. The reason: The testimony of Gov. John Connally and his wife Nellie, both testified that the bullet that hit Connally was AFTER Kennedy had already been hit. Yet they still went along with the idea that there was a single shooter, when the evidence they had required more than one shooter. It seems that was dismissed. That alone makes the Warren Commission flawed and more a political document than anything else.

The answer to whether Oswald shot Kennedy is hiding in plain sight. It therefore requires thinking about it two or three times, rather than skimming past; so THINK.
You are Oswald. You either did or didn't kill President Kennedy, and that afternoon only YOU know for sure. If you didn't, then why are you in handcuffs? If you did, then what were your motivations, and what is your mindset as you are now caught?
They take you in front of that "show up" room filled with reporters, and one of the reporters asks, "Did you kill the President?" Oswald says, "No, no one has said that to me," or similar words. He actually looks surprised and then he looks PISSED. (go find the footage) THEN he says, "I'm just a Patsy". You can actually WATCH Oswald's mind in that footage.
Now just think about it. If you just killed the President, you're either going to want to be famous for getting rid of a guy you hate, OR you're going to deny it with some preconceived story. After all, you've just planned and pulled off the assassination of the President. Oswald has nothing prepared. All that he has to offer is what he thinks or KNOWS is the truth- So he says: "I'm just a Patsy".
One more thing, and although you might think it meaningless, it is not. In 1963, NO man is going to easily call themselves a "Patsy". Oswald is going to say, "I was at work". Or "I was at lunch". Why the hell would he jump right to "I'm just a Patsy", anyway? Now you've got to answer more questions- "Who do you think set you up then?" "Why would anyone do that to you Oswald?" AND, you are de-facto implying that you ARE somehow related to this horrific crime. Nope. It all suddenly dawned on Oswald at that "Police show-up" thing with the press, and he blurted out what came to his mind. Two days later they made sure he didn't have the chance to answer those last two questions.

Maybe the MAGIC caused it to make a U turn. The following day the Lincoln had the windshield replaced. It was not a commercial sized glass. The car was a one off custom job.
Two techs replaced it. They crushed the one with the two bullet holes.
This is destruction of evidence in a homicide investigation. The car was shipped overnight to a Ford Motor Company plant where the special car was fabricated. The manager of the Department saw the car and the two techs. The above is what he saw and what he said about it. The people/forces orchestrating all these events used LHO as an expendable pawn, he being an agent acting under their orders -- just as he had been ever since he was a Marine working for Naval Intelligence and/or CIA. @@curbozerboomer1773 Yeah, so Oswald didn't bother shooting multiple times at Walker, so as to kill him, right? Just the one shot and "Oops!" it missed, so LHO scurries away. Right. THAT makes sense!
C'mon, Oswald was doing what he had been ORDERED to do: to shoot a bullet into Walker's place WITHOUT KILLING HIM. Oswald was under orders to fake an assassination attempt against Walker, not realizing that when that MC rifle he'd also been ordered to acquire BY MAIL ORDER -- making it traceable to his 'Hidell' alias -- was used to fire that 'magic bullet' into either cotton wadding or a water-tank, so that the rifling marks on it could be matched to that rifle, it would tie him not only to the Walker incident but also to the Kennedy assassination which, being on the 1st or 2nd floor of the TSBD at the time, could not have been participating in.
Oswald was framed, and he was EASY to frame because he was working for American Intelligence and could be ordered to do whatever the fuck his handlers wanted him to do. He was 'sheep-dipped' and made the 'patsy' for the crime. He was ORDERED to pretend to be a Marxist defector to Russia . . . ORDERED to pretend to be a pro-Castro FAIR PLAY FOR CUBA advocate . . . ordered to APPEAR in public to be a Leftist who hated a right-winger like Walker enough to try -- unsuccessfully -- to shoot him, a stationary target (!), so that his supposed role in shooting JFK could be blamed on Castro and/or the Soviets, so as to possibly trigger an American invasion of Cuba that an outraged public would feel was 'justified'.
If Oswald wasn't working for the CIA and/or Naval Intelligence and/or the FBI (as an informant), then why are his tax returns STILL being kept Top Secret, almost 60 years after the fact? Because he was an expendable asset working for the CIA.

The cop that Oswald alledgedly killed had bullets that did not match Oswalds little gun. Oswald may have had some problems with government but I don't think he was able to make a gun shoot from the 5th floor (which witnesses say the shot did not come from that building) when Oswald was on the 2nd floor.
Then all the BS that went on at the hospital for the autopsie, the Drs were kept away, And the mysterious bullet that hit the curb that Dallas police have that section of curb in evidence that the Warren Commission deny the shot happened...
