Former / Active DIs and Senior Enlisted had fun with this "Knock out" game, and were judges. A military version of "Simon Says," where the JROTC instructors (High School ROTC teachers) followed commands. If a Drill Instructor / Drill Sergeant / Flight Instructor / Sea Instructor got in front of you, and yelled at you until you flinched / smiled / winced, you lost, and had to leave formation.

+Tron “Original Name Here” Yvette Nationals are what you might call a tournament to see who follows orders correctly, well focused, and with discipline. The NYPD Explorers program also participates in Nationals but it's quite different. Instead of competing with others ( retired officers, etc.), you compete with other NYPD Explorer groups who also learn the same instructions as you did (Left-face, Right-face, About-face, Present/Order arms, etc.). The only REAL difference here is that it's not a game, it's an actual competetive event :^)

As soon as you hear the command you have to do it depending on whose calling the command it might have to be perfect. You cannot be delayed with the commands either or else you will be out. Seems like this is military bearings too always fun. Enjoy your day and try not to take the titles seriously.

The absolute best dig I ever saw. A DI going batshit "just for affect" chewing a troop out for what seemed like forever. When he was done he snarled at the troop who slowly turned his head squinted at the DI and said "I'm sorry SGT did you say something?" He was burnt toast, and he knew he was bested. It was all he could do not to burst out laughing.

The legal voting age is 18, which is also the legal age for recruitment. So you're wrong there. Also, not everyone who is recruited gets deployed. You can do a full 4 years without ever seeing a bullet fly your way.

+harvestcanada buddy, the purpose of JROTC is not to "recruit children to kill", it's to promote young people to become better citizens. If you don't know the purpose then don't comment ignorance, and if those kids enjoy themselves in it they have the right to sign up for it themselves. Nobody forces anyone to join the military, and the youngest you could even enlist is 17 with BOTH parents approval, otherwise it's not legal. Next time do some research

harvestcanada, No one here forces any fucker to join, in most situations they actually try to talk you out of it, depending on branch of course. Going off of your comments I can tell your not from America, Canada maybe. I can also tell that you are very, liberal. First off I want to say that when it comes to political party, I am independent, I'm not to fond of Republicans either. Also telling someone else to do their research on the military of their own country, comes of incredibly, and I mean really fucking ignorant. People here join the military for 3 reasons,
      1. They have older family members who had served in the past, bottom line they are out to either prove themselves or make somebody proud
2, the most common. They need more education to advance their career, keep in mind most applicants are broke high school graduates, the military offers a job, food, housing and the g.i bill, where the federal government pays for 3/4ths of your schooling
      3. They simply want something to do, other than nothing
The JROTC, or Junior Recruit Officer Training Canidate is a program every branch of the military offers, as kids here in America irregardless of how bad your perception of America is, do actually give two shits about their future, you know being as our military is an all VOLUNTEER military, that's right no one here is forced, or brainwashed. What it does is allows, not kids but young adults who do intend to serve for either 4 to 6 years, a boost if you will. They still remain in school but they are taught to do drills, not combat, but simple exercises, the difference in rank and marching drills. It makes basic military training simpler to understand and typically people who go through it find it easier to become officers down the road and get to graduate at a higher rank.
Also going by your comment I can't help but get the feeling that you are either anti american, or think that we are all incredibly warlike. I want you to know that as an American I can promise you that our foreign policy and our leaders, are a horrendous representation of us as a people. And if you base the fact that we voted these people in, you should know right now that money, really does make the world go round'.
Yes racsism still persists in our country, keep in mind it's s 2017, no longer the 1950's, feminists here seem to forget that as well, I'm not anti female equality, I'm just anti female nazi. Also every state has its own laws and in truth it's own micro culture. Not everybody here supports every fucking war. the Vietnam War was very protested against, that was our leaders not us. Most people that fought it, were drafted, or forced if you will. That is what basically changed the US policy to what it is today.
I actually find it appalling that you think we force our children to do this, it actually quite offensive. Let me ask you this. Do you treat the veterans of your country like dog shit for going over to the middle eastern area and killing people, specifically ISIS, you know the mysogninistic group that really does force it's children to fight, the same people who went to Paris and shot the place up, or should we take in account the hundreds of bombings and massacres they are responsible for. Did your country force any of them to fight, did they feel that they had no other option but to join their military.
Yes there are shootings and bombings here in America as well. Note, that some are acts of terror and others are people with a mental disorder. I am not afraid to admit it, I like gun's, but I don't like shootings, I actually agree with mental testing, but not everytime I go to buy some ammunition. Our country is split in half politically, republicans and democrats, yes we have democracy, but keep in mind what I said about the states. For any amendment to pass 2/3rds of our congress, or states if you will, have to agree on that. that's 2/3rds of 64 million people, that isn't done over night, everything takes time.
As an outlander I won't and couldn't expect you for a second to know the ins and out of our military. To be honest most people here don't know the ins and out of our own military. But what you did was essentially tell someone here in this country that they don't know shit about it, as if evident you don't either, before you spread another message of anti American, anti military hate, keep in mind your not the only person to metaphorically stomp on the American flag. I'll bet you don't like the fact that we are always impeding on foreign issues. With that logic, would it of been better if we simply left Europe and Africa to the nazis, or just of left Germany to, at the time soviet Russia. Perhaps we should of left Cuba alone when soviet Russia were bringing warheads over to ceastro and aiming them at us.
Let me leave you with this, the United States at its core is a very proud people of many different colors, religons and cultures. We don't agree on much and we arnt nessicerily known for our intelect or our eating habits. But we love the fact that we can say what we want, when we want, we are free to worship who we want when we want, we can purchase a gun to hunt, or defend our selves, and our government has a have an actual reason for trying to do away with us, gay marriage was just legalized and the right to smoke pot is coming around, slowly but surely. we figure that since we can do all of that, and we enjoy it, why can't the rest of the world get to do it. Now when some asshole in North Korea wants to treat his people like crap, being the humanitarians we are at heart. We want to stop him, but if he shoots at us because he wants to continue to treat his people like dog shit. It stands to reason that we would then try to give those people those freedoms by way of force, and removing him from power. That is a war, and all American wars at heart. But he says he has nukes, while many of us feel he's full of shit, we can't take a nuclear threat for granted, we should know, we've used a few. Beleive me most of us are not proud of that fact. At the moment we help safeguard south Korea from being invaded as the north Korean military is rather large dispite north koreas disminigitive size.
I would hope that you don't beleive all that "war for oil" crap, the people that spewed it, weren't there and didn't go.
Here are a few very recent fact about our military,
you can now be homosexual, they cannot mistreat you for it
As of 2017 as a matter of fact, if your religon requires a beard and turban, you can have it
In basic military training, they have a stress card, if your too stressed out you can pull it and the instructors will back off a little bit, also the cannot hit you or really even cuss at you
Our military isn't evil and we don't want to be, we in truth want to stop evil and free the earth, not control it, but really protect all people's on a global level. You may not agree with our way of going about things but you must realize that those that have made themselve our enemies, really don't care what protesters think and would happily gun them down if they could, we want you to be able to protest. You may not like the way we go about it, but if that's the only option, so be it.

    @junonovamusic Před 7 lety +3

The title is not misleading. For those of you who don't know, Knockout is a game where if you fail to correctly perform the given command and you perform the command before it is executed, you are then taken out of the game. The commands that are usually called are mostly movement commands like right, FACE or about, FACE. Also, to those of you who think someone was going to get knocked out, you need to pay attention to title as it clearly says "Knockout" and not "Knock Out." Pay attention to the spacing.

Okay so I'll try and clear this up for everybody posting comments on here. Instructor knockout isn't a misleading title, this is a bearing and discipline game essentialy. It's a mix of jrotc candidates and it looks like military veterans, hence the instructors calling the man at the end master sergeant. If you mess up a drill move or lose your bearing then your are out. The whole point of the instructors yelling is just that, to make you lose your bearing or pay attention the them and miss a command. It's a laid back way to practice what you know and have some fun, not sure why some people are getting so bent out of shape over this. -USAF A1C

It is hilarious reading the posts below saying this doesn't make sense or looking for a drill instructor to be knocked out. If you don't understand what this is you were never in the u.s. military. If you say you were and still don't know then you are lying. This is a game to see who can listen to orders given and ignore the yelling drill sergeants trying to break your bearing and attention to orders. Most young recruits can't do this well that is why they get yelled at so much (they aren't used to it). This game is fun for Drill Sergeants because it is against old vets who aren't scared because they have been thru all the games. The drill sergeants have to use other tricks to break the vets because yelling at them simply isn't enough. Thanks for the video this vet would love to play this old game again.
