Former / Active DIs and Senior Enlisted had fun with this "Knock out" game, and were judges. A military version of "Simon Says," where the JROTC instructors (High School ROTC teachers) followed commands. If a Drill Instructor / Drill Sergeant / Flight Instructor / Sea Instructor got in front of you, and yelled at you until you flinched / smiled / winced, you lost, and had to leave formation.
+Tron “Original Name Here” Yvette Nationals are what you might call a tournament to see who follows orders correctly, well focused, and with discipline. The NYPD Explorers program also participates in Nationals but it's quite different. Instead of competing with others ( retired officers, etc.), you compete with other NYPD Explorer groups who also learn the same instructions as you did (Left-face, Right-face, About-face, Present/Order arms, etc.). The only REAL difference here is that it's not a game, it's an actual competetive event :^)
The DS at 3:06 is DS Solomon. That man can call cadence with the best of them. He was also known for "on your belly on your back on your feet" as he smoked you. I remember that man well.
Lmao me too.. but I guess it's just some kind of tournament or something to see if they can break the posture of these people during drill instructions..
It's a game we play in ROTC where you have to keep your bearing as much as possible while the drill instructors mess with you and you have to do all the phases correctly and should not make a face of any sort. It's fun.
+Mooney Mooney ~~~~~ said the guy, sitting on the dirty old sofa in the basement bedroom of his parents house. Punching away on his keyboard that's littered with Cheetos dust and dried up Mountain Dew. Spewing filth about a military establishment that wouldn't enlist him to take out the garbage or clean a latrine. By the way, those empty pizza boxes and Taco Bell wrappers are starting to attract ants... and that basement toilet that you use - the one your mother won't go near... is a pig sty. Get off your ass Mooney!
They're veterans and they do these to see if they remember not to screw up no matter what. It's a fun thing for them. Veterans, although all the bullshit they go through, love the military.
to those who dont understand, knockout is a game where everyone is at attention, the commander of the game calls commands, if you break your bearing in anyway, laughing, making wrong move etc, youre knocked out, ie You lose.
Loved this! All the comments about somebody getting knocked out or whatever, I don't understand. This is our military having fun. Much respect to the vets and D.I.S who participated.
Thats a negative on your last there .... we dont smile .... whatever muscle contractions of the face observed have nothing in relation with civilian expressions of joyfulness and gleefull emotion.. much of it is in the formation of tactical vocalizations and in delivery of verbal commands aswell as muscle tension while in strenuous activity .. absolutely zero expressions of delight or in response to so called humour
Why is everyone coming here expecting a fight? It's a game for Drilling. They test your knowledge on the basic commands or even advanced. As soon as you hear the command you have to do it depending on whose calling the command it might have to be perfect. You cannot be delayed with the commands either or else you will be out. Seems like this is military bearings too always fun. Enjoy your day and try not to take the titles seriously.
I usually get in 1st or 2nd place in my JROTC group when they bring this up and I tried to keep a straight face, but when he got to Mr. Fanny pack I broke out laughing, whooo good stuff!
The absolute best dig I ever saw. A DI going batshit "just for affect" chewing a troop out for what seemed like forever. When he was done he snarled at the troop who slowly turned his head squinted at the DI and said "I'm sorry SGT did you say something?" He was burnt toast, and he knew he was bested. It was all he could do not to burst out laughing.
The like to dislike ratio just goes to show you how twisted in the head people can be. They would rather have someone succumb to physical pain than watching people have a little fun.
Its all bollocks anyway, recruiting children not old enough to vote or drink to kill and die in wars. Americans need to sort out its own human rights hypocrisies before fucking other peoples countries.
The legal voting age is 18, which is also the legal age for recruitment. So you're wrong there. Also, not everyone who is recruited gets deployed. You can do a full 4 years without ever seeing a bullet fly your way.
+harvestcanada buddy, the purpose of JROTC is not to "recruit children to kill", it's to promote young people to become better citizens. If you don't know the purpose then don't comment ignorance, and if those kids enjoy themselves in it they have the right to sign up for it themselves. Nobody forces anyone to join the military, and the youngest you could even enlist is 17 with BOTH parents approval, otherwise it's not legal. Next time do some research

The title is not misleading. For those of you who don't know, Knockout is a game where if you fail to correctly perform the given command and you perform the command before it is executed, you are then taken out of the game. The commands that are usually called are mostly movement commands like right, FACE or about, FACE. Also, to those of you who think someone was going to get knocked out, you need to pay attention to title as it clearly says "Knockout" and not "Knock Out." Pay attention to the spacing.
I was in Basic Training back in 74 my Drill Instructors were in Nam & they did their job! After a few weeks they became more like Mentors unless you were a screw up then you got their wrath! Good times!
I was worried for a second since these are older fellas. Then I realized, this is how they started they're adult life, in the corps. And it's just for fun. This is a great video, and a bit of fun and a reminder of their beginning days for these guys.
I also thought an instructor was getting knocked out! But it's an Drill instructor knockout competition! Here in the UK we don't have this stuff. But it looks great fun, and a really good way to get us old veterans involved for a day of fun and memories.
Just to inform everyone, the title is accurate and not for clickbait. Knockout is a military game where you do the commands given without messing up. If you mess up youre out. In this particular game of Knockout, ROTC instructors participate.
Okay so I'll try and clear this up for everybody posting comments on here. Instructor knockout isn't a misleading title, this is a bearing and discipline game essentialy. It's a mix of jrotc candidates and it looks like military veterans, hence the instructors calling the man at the end master sergeant. If you mess up a drill move or lose your bearing then your are out. The whole point of the instructors yelling is just that, to make you lose your bearing or pay attention the them and miss a command. It's a laid back way to practice what you know and have some fun, not sure why some people are getting so bent out of shape over this. -USAF A1C
Sergeant, but yeah. I wonder if it's because Army calls +E5 Sergeant up to a certain rank and Marines call ranks as their ranks. Speculating on the Army part.
Anything a Marine has is given to him or he developes AFTER his DI rips him down to nothing. The DI gets an unorganized piece of grabasstic amphibian shit, and has to turn it into a properly functioning man that is worthy of serving as a Marine. Glad to clear that up for you.
It is hilarious reading the posts below saying this doesn't make sense or looking for a drill instructor to be knocked out. If you don't understand what this is you were never in the u.s. military. If you say you were and still don't know then you are lying. This is a game to see who can listen to orders given and ignore the yelling drill sergeants trying to break your bearing and attention to orders. Most young recruits can't do this well that is why they get yelled at so much (they aren't used to it). This game is fun for Drill Sergeants because it is against old vets who aren't scared because they have been thru all the games. The drill sergeants have to use other tricks to break the vets because yelling at them simply isn't enough. Thanks for the video this vet would love to play this old game again.

"Oh he used the back of the razor" xD
There's a cover on there you're supposed to take it off
Man this video brought a smile to my face. If you went through bootcamp you know exactly what I mean.
The DS at 3:06 is DS Solomon. That man can call cadence with the best of them. He was also known for "on your belly on your back on your feet" as he smoked you. I remember that man well.
Brian Snell ... Ohhhhh, "Front-Back-Go's!" I remember those. 🙄
What’s king Solomon doing here.
What the hec.....I thought somebody was going to get knocked out
You completely wasted 4:01 of your life.
Gregory Vetter lol
Gregory Vetter you saved me 3:30 of mine :P
Lmao me too.. but I guess it's just some kind of tournament or something to see if they can break the posture of these people during drill instructions..
It's a game we play in ROTC where you have to keep your bearing as much as possible while the drill instructors mess with you and you have to do all the phases correctly and should not make a face of any sort. It's fun.
2:50 I thought they were talking about his stomach
To all my fellow countrymen and women who served in the armed forces I'm just saying thank you for your services
From the title I thought I was going to see a Drill Instructor knocked out. Even though I didn't I was presently surprised by the video.

+Dean Winchester Presently/pleasantly. Meh.
***** Yeah that autocorrect is a bitch when you hit a wrong letter
+Mooney Mooney ~~~~~ said the guy, sitting on the dirty old sofa in the basement bedroom of his parents house. Punching away on his keyboard that's littered with Cheetos dust and dried up Mountain Dew. Spewing filth about a military establishment that wouldn't enlist him to take out the garbage or clean a latrine. By the way, those empty pizza boxes and Taco Bell wrappers are starting to attract ants... and that basement toilet that you use - the one your mother won't go near... is a pig sty. Get off your ass Mooney!
good guys..
that C.P.O. was looking shipshape
Man, that last guy was a statue until the very end lol.
Man... they’re just straight bullying the man at the end. That shaving part killed me. “Oh he’s shaving. He’s just using the back part of the razor” 😂
I couldn't ever be a participant, They are to funny, why is this not a channel. We all need to laugh and they worked clean.
They're veterans and they do these to see if they remember not to screw up no matter what. It's a fun thing for them. Veterans, although all the bullshit they go through, love the military.
I was waiting for someone to get knocked out! Shit 💩
freshly Baked I was in mcjrotc and we played knockout it was like Simon says with drill commands
same
to those who dont understand, knockout is a game where everyone is at attention, the commander of the game calls commands, if you break your bearing in anyway, laughing, making wrong move etc, youre knocked out, ie You lose.
I probably could have done this fresh off the island, but not now lol! Some of the stuff that can come out a DI's mouth is absolutely hilarious 😂😂
This brings back memories. I loved doing knockout when I was in ROTC
That was cool as hell. That belt situation was hilarious......lol
Loved this! All the comments about somebody getting knocked out or whatever, I don't understand. This is our military having fun. Much respect to the vets and D.I.S who participated.
Its funny knowing what the game Knockout is, and people dislike the video because they think there's gonna be a fight.
What is it exactly?
Thanks! I really had no idea what was happening..
@@TheS1E2A3L4 a knockout game by keeping your composer and doing whatever is called on the speeker
2:45-3:45 now that's military bearing. he was eliminated, but u keeping it that long while 4 people try to mees u up, is really impressive
Kedar Martinez I’m 15 and I’ve been screamed at and touched even though we aren’t supposed to be touched
Is it just me or do when the Drill Instructors 'smile' their faces stretch and twist in ways normal faces that smile everyday do not!? O_O
Michelle Johnson it is the result of living in "The Collective."
Id win this, just sayin' !
Thats a negative on your last there .... we dont smile .... whatever muscle contractions of the face observed have nothing in relation with civilian expressions of joyfulness and gleefull emotion.. much of it is in the formation of tactical vocalizations and in delivery of verbal commands aswell as muscle tension while in strenuous activity .. absolutely zero expressions of delight or in response to so called humour
sonia de la paz what do you mean “we.” You aren’t no drill instructor
@@stone65037 was a Hat before you hit puberty
That Marine at 1:43 looks an awful lot like my old Master Guns. Best NCO I was ever under.
Love this game . I always won in high school . I don't think I can keep up now .
Someone get this soldier a medal!
Exactly, people are so twisted in the head that they would rather see someone succumb to physical pain than have a little fun. It's sad.
twisted in the head? wtf do you expect people to think according to this title? mb your brain is twisted.
Jezuzss You inadvertently made my point for me.
I see thanks
*ment as a compliment
Yay I found this video again! I remember my favorite part, "Is that a belt, Sir??" 😂
You can't scare a veteran with just a few loud yells
I usually get in 1st or 2nd place in my JROTC group when they bring this up and I tried to keep a straight face, but when he got to Mr. Fanny pack I broke out laughing, whooo good stuff!
"Were you a chow runner" lmfao
3:40 "man said about face and he still standing there" 😂
This is awesome, love seeing this. God bless y’all.
Guessing im not the only one that came here to see a drill instructor get knocked out?
i watched it several times. still nothing
Since when did DMX become a Drill Instructor?
Lol 😁😂😀
love knock out drill, always enjoy it in JROTC funniest thing to do
The absolute best dig I ever saw.
Next time do some research
harvestcanada, No one here forces any fucker to join, in most situations they actually try to talk you out of it, depending on branch of course. Going off of your comments I can tell your not from America, Canada maybe. I can also tell that you are very, liberal. First off I want to say that when it comes to political party, I am independent, I'm not to fond of Republicans either. Also telling someone else to do their research on the military of their own country, comes of incredibly, and I mean really fucking ignorant. People here join the military for 3 reasons,
1. They have older family members who had served in the past, bottom line they are out to either prove themselves or make somebody proud
2, the most common. They need more education to advance their career, keep in mind most applicants are broke high school graduates, the military offers a job, food, housing and the g.i bill, where the federal government pays for 3/4ths of your schooling
3. They simply want something to do, other than nothing
The JROTC, or Junior Recruit Officer Training Canidate is a program every branch of the military offers, as kids here in America irregardless of how bad your perception of America is, do actually give two shits about their future, you know being as our military is an all VOLUNTEER military, that's right no one here is forced, or brainwashed. What it does is allows, not kids but young adults who do intend to serve for either 4 to 6 years, a boost if you will. They still remain in school but they are taught to do drills, not combat, but simple exercises, the difference in rank and marching drills. It makes basic military training simpler to understand and typically people who go through it find it easier to become officers down the road and get to graduate at a higher rank.
Also going by your comment I can't help but get the feeling that you are either anti american, or think that we are all incredibly warlike. I want you to know that as an American I can promise you that our foreign policy and our leaders, are a horrendous representation of us as a people. And if you base the fact that we voted these people in, you should know right now that money, really does make the world go round'.
Yes racsism still persists in our country, keep in mind it's s 2017, no longer the 1950's, feminists here seem to forget that as well, I'm not anti female equality, I'm just anti female nazi. Also every state has its own laws and in truth it's own micro culture. Not everybody here supports every fucking war. the Vietnam War was very protested against, that was our leaders not us. Most people that fought it, were drafted, or forced if you will. That is what basically changed the US policy to what it is today.
I actually find it appalling that you think we force our children to do this, it actually quite offensive. Let me ask you this. Do you treat the veterans of your country like dog shit for going over to the middle eastern area and killing people, specifically ISIS, you know the mysogninistic group that really does force it's children to fight, the same people who went to Paris and shot the place up, or should we take in account the hundreds of bombings and massacres they are responsible for. Did your country force any of them to fight, did they feel that they had no other option but to join their military.
Yes there are shootings and bombings here in America as well. Note, that some are acts of terror and others are people with a mental disorder. I am not afraid to admit it, I like gun's, but I don't like shootings, I actually agree with mental testing, but not everytime I go to buy some ammunition. Our country is split in half politically, republicans and democrats, yes we have democracy, but keep in mind what I said about the states. For any amendment to pass 2/3rds of our congress, or states if you will, have to agree on that. that's 2/3rds of 64 million people, that isn't done over night, everything takes time.
As an outlander I won't and couldn't expect you for a second to know the ins and out of our military. To be honest most people here don't know the ins and out of our own military. But what you did was essentially tell someone here in this country that they don't know shit about it, as if evident you don't either, before you spread another message of anti American, anti military hate, keep in mind your not the only person to metaphorically stomp on the American flag. I'll bet you don't like the fact that we are always impeding on foreign issues. With that logic, would it of been better if we simply left Europe and Africa to the nazis, or just of left Germany to, at the time soviet Russia. Perhaps we should of left Cuba alone when soviet Russia were bringing warheads over to ceastro and aiming them at us.
Let me leave you with this, the United States at its core is a very proud people of many different colors, religons and cultures. We don't agree on much and we arnt nessicerily known for our intelect or our eating habits. But we love the fact that we can say what we want, when we want, we are free to worship who we want when we want, we can purchase a gun to hunt, or defend our selves, and our government has a have an actual reason for trying to do away with us, gay marriage was just legalized and the right to smoke pot is coming around, slowly but surely. we figure that since we can do all of that, and we enjoy it, why can't the rest of the world get to do it. Now when some asshole in North Korea wants to treat his people like crap, being the humanitarians we are at heart. We want to stop him, but if he shoots at us because he wants to continue to treat his people like dog shit. It stands to reason that we would then try to give those people those freedoms by way of force, and removing him from power. That is a war, and all American wars at heart. But he says he has nukes, while many of us feel he's full of shit, we can't take a nuclear threat for granted, we should know, we've used a few. Beleive me most of us are not proud of that fact. At the moment we help safeguard south Korea from being invaded as the north Korean military is rather large dispite north koreas disminigitive size.
I would hope that you don't beleive all that "war for oil" crap, the people that spewed it, weren't there and didn't go.
Here are a few very recent fact about our military,
you can now be homosexual, they cannot mistreat you for it
As of 2017 as a matter of fact, if your religon requires a beard and turban, you can have it
In basic military training, they have a stress card, if your too stressed out you can pull it and the instructors will back off a little bit, also the cannot hit you or really even cuss at you
Our military isn't evil and we don't want to be, we in truth want to stop evil and free the earth, not control it, but really protect all people's on a global level. You may not agree with our way of going about things but you must realize that those that have made themselve our enemies, really don't care what protesters think and would happily gun them down if they could, we want you to be able to protest. You may not like the way we go about it, but if that's the only option, so be it.

I seriously thought someone was gonna get knocked out because of the title of the vid
This knockout was great. Love every minute.
in rotc this is pretty fun but challenging
Thank you for your service
What are THOOSE
I was in Basic Training back in 74 my Drill Instructors were in Nam & they did their job! After a few weeks they became more like Mentors unless you were a screw up then you got their wrath! Good times!
It would be terrifying to be surrounded by Drill Instructors from every branch and to be yelled at by them
I can't take that Navy Petty Officer serious.
Aww... that Marine DI only has his "Sharp Shooter" badge...
He was a POG
Thank you for your service sir 🙏
thanks for the laughter, appreciate it dude hahahaha
Adult Simon Says....we did this shot in military school...it was fun AF
I love this video! I love playing knockout in JROTC!
The guy on the loud speaker, "......fannie packs are not allowed". lmao that part cracks me up
Those knockout games were always intense lol
I was worried for a second since these are older fellas. Then I realized, this is how they started they're adult life, in the corps. And it's just for fun. This is a great video, and a bit of fun and a reminder of their beginning days for these guys.
This was damn wholesome.
Marine drill instructors are stand up comedians, I wouldn’t last three seconds before I crack up laughing!!!!!
I also thought an instructor was getting knocked out! But it's an Drill instructor knockout competition! Here in the UK we don't have this stuff. But it looks great fun, and a really good way to get us old veterans involved for a day of fun and memories.
this is awesome hahahaha. to be fair though, it's been a while since most of the guys trying to stand there have been in basic
When you become a drill sargent do you get a book of sick burns to remember?
No, to get appointed as drill sargent you have to make those sick fifth degree burns
Fourth degree burns even the bone, fifth burns even the soul
Just to inform everyone, the title is accurate and not for clickbait. Knockout is a military game where you do the commands given without messing up. If you mess up youre out. In this particular game of Knockout, ROTC instructors participate.
Thank you for being awesome
Okay so I'll try and clear this up for everybody posting comments on here. Instructor knockout isn't a misleading title, this is a bearing and discipline game essentialy. It's a mix of jrotc candidates and it looks like military veterans, hence the instructors calling the man at the end master sergeant. If you mess up a drill move or lose your bearing then your are out. The whole point of the instructors yelling is just that, to make you lose your bearing or pay attention the them and miss a command. It's a laid back way to practice what you know and have some fun, not sure why some people are getting so bent out of shape over this. -USAF A1C
i didnt see who won the knockout. the first one was funny he just started giggling.
So It's like an elimination sort of thing, kind of like the basketball game knocout

Only Jrotc cadets will understand
These are the nicest Drill Instructors _I'VE_ ever encountered.
This was actually funny ! Ty

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
U. S ARMY DRILL " SARGENT" & A U. S. MARINE DRILL " INSTRUCTOR"
Sergeant, but yeah. I wonder if it's because Army calls +E5 Sergeant up to a certain rank and Marines call ranks as their ranks. Speculating on the Army part.
Oh I love knockout drills!
This is hilarious! I had no idea this existed. Very cool. (Salute emoji here)
Marines have souls too :) Never forget that.
Anything a Marine has is given to him or he developes AFTER his DI rips him down to nothing. The DI gets an unorganized piece of grabasstic amphibian shit, and has to turn it into a properly functioning man that is worthy of serving as a Marine. Glad to clear that up for you.
Obviously everyone who disliked never served. This reminds me of basic
+Victor Money or the people who disliked found the title misleading.
It reminded me of training subs. Do you all like to be dominated and have every aspect of your life controlled?
Those drills and D&C competitions were always a blast in HS
