1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Restomod Upgrades at V8 Speed and Resto Shop V8TV
This clean 1967 Chevy II Nova came to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop in need of some mechanical help, and our crew performed a lot of upgrades and repairs to this cool yellow cruiser.
The Chevy II Nova was targeting other smaller entries into the American car market, and by 1967, the car’s capabilities expanded to offer a 327 V8 and a Super Sport package. This one had a V8 that was beginning to knock, so the V8 crew installed a new Fast Times Motorworks built 361 cubic inch Chevy short block (4.065” bore by 3.048” stroke) for some added power. The engine is topped with AFR heads and an aluminum intake manifold, and is fed by a FiTech EFI system for smooth, reliable operation.
Behind the new engine is a 4-speed Muncie manual transmission, with a Hurst shift handle that pokes out of the floor, as this is a bench-seat 4-speed with no console. It is basic, and cool!
The suspension has been lowered with parts from CPP, but the car retains its manual steering and brake systems. The oversize Chevy Rally wheels look great against the Butternut Yellow paint. It's a cool restomod that loves the road!
If you’ve got a Nova that needs some love, we’re happy to chat about it! You can reach us at www.v8speedshop.com today.

Always a Ford fan but the 67 Nova was one of the best looking cars of the 60's.

Everything you need and nothing you dont .
Nobody cried about cupholders phone chargers and ac.
My mom drove these brand new no power anything no complaints.
Still remember the way that blue vinyl smelled.

ABsolulty Kevin. My ‘61 Dodge Dart Seneca Slant 6 (Pushbutton Trans only option) with 60K miles. WHen you drive a non power steering no power brakes, 155 HP that purrs like a kitten. You feel one with the car. You have a connection with your automobile. This is why I believe owners loved their cars a lot more then they do today. You’re not driving todays cars. My 2017 drives me around. In just a few years we’ll all be just riding in appliances.

Those are sweet cars. i believe a 4 cylinder option was available. How about a segment on the Riv in the background.

Nice car as is usual for your channel.
Does it have the wrong hub caps on it though? They say Power Disc Brakes, but it lacks a booster and you said they are manual.

    • @V8TV
      @V8TV  Před 3 lety +2

Technically you are correct. This car has lots of changes from original, however. I don't know if there is a standard hubcap that just says "disc brakes "and not "power ", but that might be a nice detail. Thanks for the feedback!

I know that I am a lil biased when it comes to the Chevy II Novas, however, that is a nice clean used daily driver car. Just curious, was it for sale or did I miss that part of the video? Thank you again. Do you sell muscle cars as well?

    • @V8TV

Hi James, we work on customer cars only, we do not sell. However, we're happy to help people find cars they want and then modify / repair / restore as needed. Thanks!
