I think that keeping the current design has a big advantage for bracelets, just like iPhone cases that have to be repurchased after each new model, watch bracelets can be kept to make a real collection and have bracelets a little more expensive because they are more worked than iPhone cases.
I don't know if these bracelets will go with any other design because of their size and rounded delivery mechanism.

Thanks for the video. Nicely summarized. I should have watched this video before updating it to preview build for the double tap. I wanted it for the workouts to seamlessly pause when required. But it does not do anything. Hopefully they will add that feature too. Else its pretty useless for me.
Will be getting the Apple Watch 9as I tend to upgrade every 2 years. Then give the previous version to one of my nephews.

good day... nice video 👍🏻, I would like to know if the double tap needs to be turned on in the settings or should it happen automatically? my wife has a new aw9 and 2 tap works only when receiving a call, but it also works for me on aw ultra 1gen, I don't understand why on aw 9 it is not possible to control other things like calling up widgets or controlling music?
Double tap isn’t available yet. It’s coming in a software update next month.
Im currently using a apple watch series 7 gold stainless steel had it 2 years I don't think it's worth investing in a upgrade yet I'm also rocking a Garmin fenix 7 X sapphire solar

You have to be looking at the watch for it to work so in that sense... It will already be woken up. In this preview build it doesn't work when the screen is asleep.
What would you suggest for first time apple watch user among series 8 which got 120$ cheaper vs series 9.?
S8 is a great watch, 98% the same as this new one. I would save the money.
(Especially if you are a man, the S7 is 99% identical too. Don't need the new cycle tracking.)

double tap is on the watch and has nothing to do with your phone. So it will work with any phone.
I wish the find my worked with other phones. I have a 14pro and wasn’t looking to upgrade my phone this year but was considering going from the series 7 to the series 9 watch
A specific chip is required for it to work. It's not using bluetooth or wifi or anything the location is broadcast by an ultra wide band chip.

What do you think about losing weight before getting back into running vs running and losing weight? I really miss running, but I know that if I get into running before I lose weight then I'm not going to enjoy running as much because I'll be focusing on weight loss from running. I'd much rather lose the weight and then run for fun & maintenance. Plus, easier on the joints long term, me thinks.
I have excess weight. I worry more about overuse injuries with running. I’m personally trying to keep my exercise load on the elliptical, indoor rower or bike. I feel like I’m always on the cusp of having shin splints though.
Just got my red series 9 and upgraded from the series 3. Looks exactly like the 3.
I went in planning to get the Ultra 2, I love the look of the Ultra 2 and all the features but OMG the size of it is wayyy too big for me. Pisses me off they made it for a mans wrist. Apple could have made a smaller version for women. That watch looks absurd on a woman’s wrist and it’s heavy. Thanks a lot Apple. 😢
What is the benefit of the stainless vs the stainless steel?
Stainless steel has a more premium feel and look. I prefer the aluminum models because they’re lighter. 🤷♂️
Great video Dave! yeah i think the apple watch ultra 2 was a waste nothing really major they should have waited another year to release the apple watch ultra 2! I think one major thing that hold the apple watch up is battery life like you said in the video. Apple watch does not get a fulls day charge! Apple needs to find a way to extend battery life in all the watches and phones also. Design of the apple watch has been the same I know alot of people want a rounded apple watch I guess it could happen but i dont think it will. I wish apple would release new products on a every year basis! will never happen cause people will always keep buying the new products. I think the changes from one year to the next in all products are minimal. you really notice a difference in that 3rd year. Idk just my two cents. keep up the great work!
Can I use Ultra wide band to find my iPhone 14 Pro? or it is strictly limited to 15 and up?
iPhone 14 doesn’t have an UW chip so it won’t work. “Find my phone” will still trigger your phone to beep and flash its light but it won’t indicate how far you are from it or what direction.
what about when typing on they keyboard ?
Double tap? No, doesn't work with keyboard either.

There are Garmin watches that last 30+ days on a single charge with AMOLED displays. I think we have the technology. Apple just prioritizes performance and having super silky animations over longer battery life.

As for the AW's gps and HR accuracy, can it go up against the Garmins/Coros/Suuntos/Polars?
In terms of heart rate, the apple watch ultra and series 9 are top performers. In GPS, they're very good and near the top of the pack.

I don't think the Series 9 would disappoint you but as mentioned in the video it's not a HUGE leap in innovation.
How can I turn on this double-tap feature? It doesn't work, and I guess this feature is different from the accessibility gesture.

The Apple Watch 9 in comparison with the Apple Watch 8 have peanuts upgrade
The battery is still awful in comparison with a Suunto or Garmin sports watches.
I have the series 9. Having issues with double tap. I am told set up is correct. My son can put my watch on and double tap works. Has never worked for me. Suggestions?
Try tightening your strap. The watch relies on using the sensors to detect motion and if it's too loose it can't do that.

Unlikely. Apple claims this new feature is due to a newly designed ultra wide band chip. It doesn’t use Bluetooth but a separate wireless signal.

Series 3 is a bit old , you should upgrade but don’t get the series 9 you can get series 7 for very good deal so consider that.
I have a series 3 in storage and recently got it out for my sister to use on her bike. You’re doing yourself a disservice holding onto an old unit like that.
I still use mine for sleep tracking and alarm, whilst my s6 charges..
