Love Jerry’s enthusiasm, however his grasp of the technical side of things isn’t great. He is a plane spotter and much of what he says is just guess work.
Correct - he's blagging it most of the time. Also, I think he finds talking on the live TV news channels really stressful and he's not done it often enough to get used to it. He tries to hide his nervousness as best he can, but it does come through I'm afraid and he has said some really embarrasing things on occasions when interviewed live. He would do well to have some professional interview technique training similar to what actors do to ready themselves for press interviews. It's a bit like an engineer starting a top job with a company BEFORE he/she has had the proper training and qualifications beforehand. Jerry is very much a cart before the horse type of guy.
