I’ve never seen anyone suggest Baelish tipped off Jaime to where Ned was, that’s an interesting idea.

@@xsakuta8876 nah Ned still wasn’t great lol he was always good but Jaime wasn’t trying to kill Ned at all…he even stated before the fight about wanting him alive to get Tyrion back. He wasn’t serious with Ned.

@@Caraxes_RoguePrince I don’t think you understand. Regardless of you considering it treason there is NO way that Ned would kill Jaime Lannister, the BROTHER of the queen and son of Tywin Lannister. Ned had no intention of killing Jaime. Also him fighting that well against Jaime proves he’s a great swordsman (in the show). Jaime cut down like 9 of “R”’s best men in mere seconds. Ned doing “fine” against Jaime is definitely an indicator of his skill in the show.
Great reaction guys. There is a lot of characters and you guys are doing a great job following along. It gets easier to recognize all the characters the more episodes you watch. Definitely looking forward to seeing y’all watch the rest of the season!

In fact, according to the books on which the series is based, Jaime Lannister is one of the best and most skilled swordsmen of his generation and is currently probably the top 3 fighters in Westeros, Ned is more of a commander than a fighter, and while he is also a solid and above average swordsman, he is not he has no chance against Jaime.
Jaime seems arrogant and seems to talk more than he does, but his words are 100% backed up by his excellent fighting skills.
So there is no chance that Ned could beat Jaime in a duel because when it comes to fighting Jaime is 2 tier above and also the Lannister soldier who wounded Ned in the leg probably saved his life because otherwise Jaime would definitely beat him.
It's strange that the creators of the series presented this fight in this way, because here it looks evenly matched, while according to J.R.R. Martin's books, Jaime is one of the best swordsmen in this universe, while Ned is at best good and above average

What makes this deeper is Ned killed Jamie's mentor back in the war so he wants to see if he rly was that good. His mentor being tied with Selmy as the best fighters of there time
@@Caraxes_RoguePrince To be honest, it didn't look like Jaime was playing with him at all (although it should be) but the creators did not show off with this duel, not only that the choreography itself was bad in my opinion, but also a fight between one of the top 2/3 swordsmen at this point, or maybe even the best and a swordsman at best good and solid was shown as even, which is a misunderstanding.
I would even go so far as to say that this is how the fight looked even if Ned was winning at the end and it's not just my opinion but I watch a lot of reactions from game of thrones and often reactors watching this fight think that if it wasn't for that spear in the leg, Ned would have won or that Ned was in the lead.
So if so many new people perceive it that way, it means that the creators did not show off ... And yet it was the perfect opportunity to establish Jaime's position as actually such an outstanding and best swordsman, and instead the fight, which he should have easily won, ended in a draw.
As for the fight itself, even though at the beginning Jaime actually starts out confident and even smiles at Ned, then towards the end of the fight Ned attacks and Jaime looks grumpy so it looks like Ned has the upper hand towards the end.
I heard somewhere that it was because of the actor who played Jaime who was obviously great at playing the character but apparently had problems with the fight scenes.
@@rol1xgames333 ned is not a top 2/3 swordsman even at that point tho lol he’s not great Jaime did not want to kill him he wanted him alive he just wanted to test how good he was. Ned is good no doubt but no he is but that good lol kingsguard some of the best in the whole kingdom and not to mention the ones like mountain and others. I agree they did a horrible job at displaying it but nah he definitely was not serious but I get what you saying for sure.

In turn, I would like to point out that this fight didn't look like Jaime was playing with him (although it should look like that).
It's obvious that Jaime didn't want to kill Ned here for Tyrion's sake but they should show Jaime dominating Ned and actually playing with him while the fight looked even and if you showed this fight to someone who is completely unrelated to GOT and who has never watched series and generally knows nothing about this universe, I doubt that this person would indicate Jaime as clearly better because this fight just didn't look like Jaime was playing with him and it didn't even look like he was any better than Ned, it was just evenly matched what is a misunderstanding.
To sum up, Jaime right after Dayne and Selmy is probably the best swordsman in the universe and Ned as I wrote is a good and solid swordsman but he is 2/3 class lower than Jaime and after the fight you can't see it, that's why I don't like this fight so much

I mean… you guys should make a list of characters with the names you be giving everyone. Tyrone, Littlefish(bowl), Lankesters… etc. Alright guys… get into the next episode. BTW It took me a few watches of the first few episodes to catch on. I also learn stuff from watching reactions because y’all pick up things that I missed. That’s one reason why watching reactors makes this fun.

I’m not even going to lie this first season has a lot that happens, a lot of setting things up, a lot of information….but it can be a bit slow and leave you not wanting to continue. But trust when people say stick with it because it ends up becoming one of thee best shows of all time!
But without the events of the first season the rest of the crazy shit that goes down couldnt happen. So basically season 1 is the intro and seasons 2-8 is the actual story with all the action and twists and turns. Not that there aren’t slow moments through out but usually they are necessary for something insane that’ll take place down the road.
This show is a roller coaster. LoL, your reactions when the episode ended 😅.

The show made Ned look better than he really is. He's written as an average sword fighter but an excellent battlefield strategist. Jaime is cocky
But has the skill to back it up and he even admits to being afraid of two others one living is 2nd the old knight Barriston Selmy and the deceased Arthur Dayne is the Michael Jordon in this world *ironically he died in a fight with Ned who doesn't say much about it other than he is the only survivor in the fight which had 6 of Ned's men fighting 3 nights. Arthur died but Ned alludes to as luck. Daynes sword was forged from a falling star and is legendary Ned delivered it back to its home out of respect and to Arthur's sister ashara in what would've vern the end of Robert's Rebellion that overthrew the mad king.
