Simon (I'm not delusional enough to think you'd actually see this--moreover, care), pop song that it may be, it is an *extremely* dramatic song. The song "Gravity" has been likened to a fight with drug addiction, struggling with toxic/abusive relationships, etc. This song is not only in her range, it's in her wheelhouse, and it makes complete sense why that's one of the songs in her repertoire. Sometimes, you get stuck in one genre, trying to pigeonhole people where you think they fit best, meanwhile negating what the performer what's to show of themselves. She repeatedly said she has sung as characters, but this time she wants to sing as herself. Pop can go theatre, Theatre can go pop. I'd buy a ticket to see her in concert, today--and fly to Britain to attend. Her theatrical and crazy-controlled voice have transfixed me. You got this one wrong, my dear.
Whilst I agree that Rachael could sing anything, you must remember that Simon only sees £ signs when he gives advice ~ I'm not saying that is wrong, because it depends on what level of success is required.
The fact that she was eliminated from the competition after this, shows how much influence Simon still has over voters. He obviously didn't want her to win. I still remember her (and the other cast, making up the "starlight express train", skating along these tracks many times, with a quite a lot of speed and rolling noise), at where I was sitting in the audience, in the musical building which was specially built, customized, for just this musical. Always with a smile on her Lips. The "dining car - Dinah" is what she exactly has impersonated in the musical "Starlight Express" for some time as part of the cast. ("Dinah" was obviously her second role, since she also played "Pearl" if that one got to be performed on the stage in a different or maybe in the main cast assembly these times). Well what a career up to now, while reading her biography.
I stumbled across Rachael's first performance somehow and was absolutely captivated by her spirit and her drive and her voice. She is AMAZING. I decided to find out how she did in the competition and ended up here. Understand this is my absolute FAVORITE Sarah Bareilles song. I have 2 daughters now in their early 20's and we use to sing this song every weekend driving around touring the countryside. I LOVE THIS SONG. Rachael did an amazing job singing this song. If you are ever in Atlanta let me know and I will have my girls meet you at a Karaoke bar and you all will have a fantastic time lol. She should have got the golden buzzer after the first performance she is just one beautiful georgeous Singer she has a good voice and just a wonderful woman I believe some of the singer out there can't come close to that
It happens to a lot of people who have talent. The difference even counting her previous experiences in performing is that she took the risk. She found the courage to stand on her own. Many of us don't.

She has one of those special, outstanding voices... someone you would say 'she's one of the greats!'. I hope she's still singing and has a wonderful career.
This was beautiful and I love this song, and she should have been noticed. And got some recording deals. She has a gorgeous voice. Big mistake not to get her recording. She has something that reaches you.
This woman is absolutely incredible!! She reminds me of Laura Stitt lead vocalist for the Aussie group Uncle Jed(now Luna Grand)who won their AGT several years ago.
