The British Supermarine Spitfire is a single seat, fight plane used by the royal air-force and allied countries mostly during WWII. Now we can fly one ourselves in an RC form under $100! It comes nearly put together which was very easy to assemble, and took well under an hour, even for my slow poke self ;) It does fly a little wiry , but if you enjoy any type of combat plane and don't mind flying something a bit small, this might be perfect for you! Watch the full video to learn more!

As it turns out, this is a Hawker Hurricane not a Spitfire. Sorry for the confusion! They look pretty similar ;)
TheRcSaylors sorry but in my opinion the spitfire and hurricane are quite different the hurricane is like a pickup truck while the spit is more of a ferrari
I was just getting ready to post this lol. The wings are way wrong for a Spitfire.
Sorry. Its a japanese Zero .......14b
:-)
Not even close to looking anything alike......
It’s ok
Had a .40 size Hawker 20 plus years ago. Definitely not for the beginner. And the smaller they are, the harder to fly. Love your unbiased reviews. Keep up the good work!
Thanks John, glad you agree! Sorry I got the name wrong :/
Quite emotional watching this. My parents met working at the Hawker factory building Hurricanes in 1940. May be difficult to fly, but my it looked good. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you Nate and Abby! And thanks for your honest reviews. Thanks to your review of the 501S my son and I picked up one and flew it for the first time this weekend. It is a wonderful bird and we really enjoyed it. Keep up the great work.
Its absolutely a Hawker Hurricane, looks good👍
Sorry we got the name wrong :/ Updated the title.
Hearing this repeatedly and incorrectly called a Spitfire makes me cringe. In Britain, the Spitfire is still the most dearly loved aircraft ever built and considered the greatest symbol of defiance against the German Luftwaffe in WW2.
You & Abby are great pilots & you helped me out a lot last year in learning how to fly a plane. Excellent video Nate & Abby!!
Hi guys, just to let you know that is a hawker hurricane not a spitfire
Updated the title of the video, I think you are right ;) Sorry about that! Wow they look so similar!
Yes!!!!! I think you all do the best airplane reviews!
Thank you so much Bryce!
Great advice about beginner flying, thanks, I'll keep it in mind when shopping for my first airplane, thanks! :) Also, I'm glad you two finally got to get outside and fly!
As a Brit and a ww2 plane enthusiast I recognised the hurricain instantly and it's a common mistake to get it mixed up with a spitfire.
Once it's trimmed and not tail heavy try removing the wheels, it looks nicer and fly's much better.
Cheers.
Nigel.
I live vicariously through you guys.
Thanks for always tuning in! Have you seen our Vlog channel? Search for The Saylors if you are interested :-)
Very Honest review that’s what I love about the rc sailors ! Great Review!😃
Thank you so much :-)
TheRcSaylors no problem! Keep up the good work!👍
Great stuff as always guys.
You did a great job flying Nate, honestly if I watched this on mute I would have thought you loved it. Was fun to watch though, thank you both!
Very sweet plain!!
It did look Tail heavy and the fact it did not tip over nose first was a good indication of that ..LOL... this has been re launched in a different scheme, and with an ORX stabilization unit they flight like a dream - so nice to fly these days - oh and yes its a Hurricane - the real workhorse of WW2 for the RAF..
Thanks for another great video! Definitely need one with more control.
No problem :-) More coming soon!
Great video as always! You should be called RCPiylots now LOL
Very cool!!
Another good vid guys 👍
Great video. Loving the diversity of products. I believe it's replicating Hawker Hurricane :)
Pretty nice little flyer.
It’s a cool looking plane , I used to build old WW2 model planes when I was little, but When I decide to get a Rc plane I will take yalls advice on which one to get, great video guys 👍👍
Yes! Another plane!
:-)
I like that style of rc plane, they look very nice 👍🏾
Thanks for tuning in Nikyle!
Yay! An airplane finally!
Trust us, we are pumped to be out flying again too :-)
Yeah. A plane. Been a long time. Nate almost every spitfire I have flown acts a little squirrelly I think ou did great after trimming it out. Keep em comin
Thank you very much my friend :-)
This is a hawker hurricane Not a spitfire
Super awesome video
Thank you!
nate- i have a hawker hurricane from nitroplanes, similar size, but the nitroplanes version has a retractable gear. it flies amazing. the thing is, in this video, you are WAY tail heavy all the time, if you used a micro rx and then upped the battery to something heavier, you would get a plane that balances. you can see throughout the whole video that the prop is basically pulling the sagging airframe around. i know my nitroplanes hawker had similar issues from the community before i flew it. it was designed for a 800mah 3s, but it actually balances with minimum 1300mah 3s, and some guys are even using the way heavy 2200mah 3s :) remember, a nose heavy plane always flies stable, and tail heavy is a crash waiting to happen :)
You guys got me looking at tower hobby planes now! That corsair you guys did a video on is calling my name! Corsair= favorite plane ever for me.. :D
The Corsair is my second favorite plane :-) It flies really well, for a warbird. Let them know we sent ya, lol. Maybe we will get a free plane, hahaha!
+TheRcSaylors Might be a little while before I can get one.. Still broke from my mini quad ventures.. ;)
Awesome video guys 👍
Thank you so much!
Hi Nate and Abby good video of the plane flying, I like the loops that you did. I enjoy watching your videos that you both make. Keep up making the great videos 💪👍👍😎
Flies well in my opinion.
I love your videos, you guys are real people. Just a piece of advice, if you actually balanced the plane rather than just trimming it, you will find it flies much better.
Thanks for the fighter plane! Nice to hear you like WWII stuff. Maybe we'll see some more. hint, hint :-)
You definitely will, and hopefully very soon!
Thanks for the research guys. Too bad it was so hard to control because it looked awfully sweet in the air. You did a great job flying her Nate and that first landing was smooth. Maybe you can bring her out again just for us to look at while you fly her.
Two flights with tail heavy conditions is impressive (plus pretty nice landings). A lot of airplanes don't survive the first flight when they are tail heavy. #ILOVEPLANES
More planes coming soon my friend :-) Me too!! Thanks!
What's the old saying Gary?... A nose heavy plane flys poorly, a tail heavy plane flys once..... I guess Nate just proved that wrong. #pilotskills.
It looked good against that nice sky!
Nice video, Nate and Abby 🖒
Thank you so much!
Hello Nate & Abby, you did good, i started out with a S.P.A.D. good review.
Good evening, Saylors. I enjoyed the video, I'm a big fan of all things that fly RC. 2 Thumbs Up.
Great review. I was concerned about the CG of that plane. Even after the bigger battery was installed to me seemed a little tail heavy. Harbor Freight sold planes about the same size and construction as that one. I have tried all them out. These planes are not beginner friendly. Thanks for another great video guys.
Plane looks nice but it does look a little touchy. Nice video!
Pretty spot on Steve :-) Thanks!
Thank you for doing airplanes and please do more of them. I’ve been watching since 5k subs. I love your content!!!
More airplanes coming soon :-) Thank you!
I think I like that lighted up glider you reviewed few days ago
Gonna add this one to my collection. Great price..
If you take your main wing off the receiver should fit right their it is built a lot like their mustang. Keep up the great videos
Nice
:-)
Awesome control Nate¡¡is not my favourite plane but its cool and cheap.Hi from spain¡great video¡
Hello from the States my friend! Have a great day!
Fantastic video review, my friends! Thank you for the advice on getting a larger and aasier to control plane for beginners (which I am). What transciever (radio) do you use? I couldn't catch it in the video. And, Nate, you're right, it is a really cool looking WWII vintage plane - I love the detail on it! Thanks again for a very fun video to watch!
John in my next airplane video I will talk about my Transmitter a little more. I may even make a video on it one day :)
Not too shabby there Nate & Abby, pretty cool plane at a good price. Hi Popeye 🐶
I think it looks good but for a plane that XK A700C with leds on bottom that you flew is my pick.. Thanks for the Vids guys.
Absolutely amazed Nate can’t tell the difference between this and a Supermarine Spitfire ffs!
Hi Nate and Abbey, looks like a lot of fun to me. Warbirds are meant to be agile, so they will not fly like a trainer. Put in the correct battery, correct any C of G issues and try again. Why not use a bit of expo on your controls, and dual rates? So many options before canning a model like that. Perhaps a re-visit after trying some of these? Just some thoughts.
No sweat since I am not a Brit, lol. I had a mustang very small and didnt like it as it was like that, too squirrely for enjoyment. I fly UMX planes out behind my house all the time in the big empty lot and enjoy flying them. No you are not a bad pilot. Cheap is ok if its bigger, not smaller. I struggled with small planes until I got better at larger planes.
Yaaaaay!!! Planes!!!
Woot!!
If your a beginner i would get something bigger . I got a Emprentace S with safe mode .This is 3 setting beginner mode , semi beginner an then you can go to 3 mode witch you have full control of the plane .. Great video Nate an Abby
Totally agree about something bigger for a new pilot :-) Thanks for tuning in!
True,asGreeg said.plane is a hawker hurricane.
Updated the title. Sorry about that!
Thanks for the videos. Question... Do you still fly your fly zone sensei? Would you recommend the sensei.
No problem! Yes, and yes :-) The Sensei is a proud part of our RC collection and we think it's an amazing first plane, especially the RTF version!
Hey guys love plane
only the first top 100
please review the Syma x5c
nice video
Awesome. It has autostablization?
Could you guys review the Volantex Super Cub?
We will check it out!
Yep tail heavy, push small finishing nails into the nose area, will add weight and can’t see them
brushless motors are rated by kv`s brushed motors are rated by turns so the motor in this plane is a brushless.
Really getting into your family oriented themes Nate and Abby. Subscribed of course. I have concern though: are you simply taking off without a thorough CG check? You'd rather take off nose heavy than tail, or surely fail. Hey, that rhymes! Grass on small wheels will also drastically reduce your needed take off speed. Another great product review, I enjoy your enthusiasm and youth. Paddy
Would you by any chance some day, just asking, or maybe I missed the vid, do a behind the scenes of your workshop?
Would be cool to see your work area, and who knows, maybe a few build videos just to shake it up a little.
Good job in the filming!
Thanks a lot! We have done some behind the scenes stuff for our Patrons in the past, but maybe we'll do that again in the future for everyone :) Was just talking to Abby about a simple build video, so we may have to make that happen too!
Always liked planes but cant see very well so quads are my thing. Thank god for quads !
As Douglas Bader was told when he first arrived at Cranwell, "never ever call it a plane, it is an aeroplane." ;)
The Hawker Hurricane was the workhorse of the RAF during the Battle of Britain. It never quite captured the imagination like the Supermarine Spitfire did, but without it (and all the brave pilots who flew them) we would never have won the battle. As it was we came so very close to losing had it not been for the help of the pilots from many other nations who flew with us.
There are two easy ways to tell them apart: The shape of the wings and the shape of the cockpit canopy. Without even seeing the wings I could easily tell them apart because the cockpit canopies were so different.
As for the model, without gear retracts and flaps I am not surprised at how poorly it flies.
I've got some learning to do about planes from other countries apparently, but this helps :-) Thank you! No disrespect meant by my getting this wrong, just simple lack of knowledge and confusion.
Do more planes like this
More planes coming soon!
G/day guys. Greetings from OZ. It is a model of a Hurricane but as usual scale type models do not fly very well. Good video though. Cheers. 🇦🇺
Got the title updated, thanks!
You need a little RC SAYLOR banner to pull behind your planes. Have they ever made a sky writer plane?
That would be so cool! Yeah there are planes that emit smoke, but only gasers that I have seen.
even the second flight it still looked tail heavy - did you fly this ever again ??
nice
:)
Airpane yes!
:-)
i thought you flew it very well...that's a very nice plane for such a low price.
would the non folding landing gear have any affect with the flight handling?
i would'nt know the difference between a Hurricane and a Spitfire either folk's.
the hurricane and spitfire are very different
OK, get BIG war bird next! Cadillac of the sky! P-51D
You just might be on to something :-) Seriously ... are you a mind reader? ;)
TheRcSaylors **heavy breathing**
Please review a DLG, might be fun.
Will check it out :-)
1 yes!
You got it! WOOT!
It's a Hurricane with machine guns coming out of the fuel tanks... wow... The guns on the real thing are behind the red bits on the wing, which were canvas stickers they would put over the muzzles after (re)loading.
Don’t worry Nate, I forgive you for mistaking Hurricane as a Spitfire. You are Millennial. Read a book on Battle of Britain or even watch the movie. Hurricanes were the mainstay of RAF fighter squadrons. I like because it is a Hurricane😀
It is a Hurricane,not a Spitfire.
I bought one and It is very cool!
Man, it looks so good, fast and agile too.( do looks and feel like a fighter plane in the sky)
But sadly not for beginner. :(
well... is a serious war plane after all....
+very interesting video, kudos on your RC fly skill, but if the plane does not come with all the accessories ,bat, recvr, xmter, then.... 😒 !
“It was a delightful aeroplane - not as agile as a Spitfire, but it had a very good gun platform. It was very steady and took a tremendous amount of battle damage without appearing to worry too much.”Pilot officer R G A Barclay
Third. Woo hoo. Love your channel
Not bad :) Thanks!
Hey Nate: did it fly better with the 850 battery weight or was it about the same? Really happy it’s warmed up there so you guys are back in the air. Give Popeye a squeeze.
Many warbirds are notorious for their more difficult flight characteristics. Smaller planes as well especially when you don't have the CG correct. Would like to see this fly again with a larger battery up front to properly balance the plane. Kind of unfair to the plane to judge it without having it balanced properly. Impressive flying though. I find it next to impossible to fly tail heavy.
Early squad where you guys at (:
WOUP what this mean?
Gee Whiz, you uploaded a video 20 mins ago and already 259 views and 45 likes 47 comments..and I am on the slow side today..having mobile phone issues so bee taking to machines most of the day..but hey I made it
And we are glad to have you! Sorry about your phone issues though :-(
Three out of the last four videos have been duds/downers... Let's get back into the good stuff lol! Have you guys done the Furibee Darkmax 220? I just got it and the Rx was inop, and the FC needs to be replaced and I haven't even got to fly it yet 😔 I hope GearBest hooks me up with a new FC. I also just got the Jumper multi-protocol Tx, so we'll see how that goes!
Even something you picked out seems to have issues. When we only feature amazing stuff, people start to accuse us of never saying anything bad about a product. We could sugar coat this and other videos and tell you it's amazing, or we could be honest. We've got more stuff coming to the channel, nearly daily. It can't all be great.
Yeah I totally understand, I've been a long time fan and watch almost religiously lol! All I was saying was *noting* that the last few uploads were bummer rc products. Hopefully it keeps people from buying those unless they are the targeted market. You guys do an awesome job and it's been fun seeing you guys grow. I bought the darkmax because I saw so many good reviews and of course, I get the DUD out of the box and have to mitigate issues that shouldn't have happened. To be honest, that in itself should've been a CZcams post to warn people lol
I wonder how well the Spitfire would have flown. The hurricane was always the redheaded stepchild that just couldn't perform as well.
Yeah sorry about getting the names wrong :/
No biggie. I wonder if the bigger issue was the size paired with it being a low wing model. I've only ever flown high wings, and it was so long ago that I've even flown a plane, I don't know for sure if I'd stay in the air more than a couple feet. B>0
Nice looking but like you said it looked like it was flying you oh still windy here want to buy a cheap drone ha ha stay safe
Love these old replicas. For a bit more history about the Hurricane and the Spitfire see here: www.historynet.com/supermarine-spitfires-and-hawker-hurricanes-world-war-ii-aircraft.htm
HAWKER HURRICANE my friend
Older video. I can’t be held liable for my younger lack of knowledge, lol 😉😂👍😁⚓️
Looks like a pass for the price. Nice Video non the less!
Hawker hurricane mk2
Not bad for a small warbird maiden. Needs more work to balance it correctly and improve its characteristics.
However it is not cheap, not particularly accurate to scale and hardly worth the extra effort unless you really want a small warbird.
As pointed out there are better small PNP planes out there for the same price or very little more.
Interesting review though
