The part about us (Latvians) being generally quiet is more associated with us being Nordic not because of our historic oppressors. Nordic people are known of being, as you said, hard on the outside but sweet on the inside. :)
Yes. True about that coconut. Also one thing i don't understand is showing big compassion, pity to someone..you know there are people who can cry if someone have squeezed finger or fall down and scratched knee little bit. They come to them and hug and say..oh you poor thing and etc. I just can't understand that..i think like.'' Are you ok? Need help? Well, things happen. Yes you got hurt, that is life. Scars cure. You will be ok. That's all..No hugging, no crying..that seems just so needless.
It's now 2016 and listening to a young man talking about "Pagans" kind of makes me feel VERY uncomfortable, I mean very PISSED. And he's not the first American I heard talking about Latvians that way! What does it mean Pagan in 2016?
All people are like that in Northern Countries. People think that we are closed. Latvians are the same like we Scandinavians.
Latvian s were the last pagan s in Europe but could not hold off the cursaders but the culture will never die GOD blesse LATVIA
+Latvian Woodsman That would be Lithuanians, actually. At least officially.

Latvian language is actually a lot richer than English.. A LOT :D
I like the compassion of Latvians to coconuts -- hard on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. Good video. Much appreciated.
We dont have half of population russians...they are about 27%.
