      Mr Putin believes Russia should extend all the way to Poland. If you watch Russian state tv you will see the trash in the minds of not only the Russian state, but also of many (many) Russians. For Russia those countries do not exist. They are traitor break away historical Russian lands.
      I once talk to an American that supported Putin. No matter what Russian state tv or Putin says he simply believed it or made some silly excuse in their defense. I told him I suppose that you would have supported the British during the second war against the America. I supposed you would support the Spaniards if they decided to take back latin america and the southern part of the United States. I suppose you support China's takeover of Taiwan.
      He immediately screamed at me and was extremely angry. Empires rise and fall. If governments cannot accept that, it gets dangerous.

    Latvians are a small nation, so they shouldn’t compromise their language and culture by letting those illegally settled coloniser russians dominate in their capital. I am amazed that there are still russian schools there. Just take an example of Ukraine and you’ll understand how destructive they are if not opposed.

    No, there is no need for Russian language in Latvia. It's better to learn English or other European Union language for better opportunities. Parts of Russian speakers here in Latvia are rude and they do not respect Latvian at all in public spaces and some even demand to speak to them in Russian. For that reason alone I respect our governments decisions on limiting Russian usage in public space, as it is foreign language in Latvia and Latvians aren't obliged to know that. Russian may be beautifull language, but please respect Latvian peoples right to speak it's own native Latvian langue in our own country. Russians are free to use their language at home and other places in private discussions between themselves, but please do not force others to use it or force Russian language upon Latvian state.

      Hi Arturs! Is it true that some Russian speakers in Latvia don’t even know the Latvian language? I’ve been to Riga in 2018 and had a culture shock when I found nobody speaking Latvian in the popular places in Riga. Then I tried to do some research and some said that some Russian speakers in Latvia (especially around Riga) don’t even speak Latvian.

      @@alexsghostcookie8142 Yes it's true! Some are living there their whole life and do not bother to learn even simple ewryday phrases. Absurd fact is that russian isn't official state language and many latvian citizens do not know or do not speak it.

      Does Latvia belong to one ethnic group? Latvian nationalism is insane. In normal countries like USA people speak whatever language they want

    • @alexsghostcookie8142
      @alexsghostcookie8142 Před rokem

      @@sampejke „normal countries like US“ lol. I’m sorry but Americans are a total joke to us Europeans. But regarding your question: research Latvian (and Estonian and Lithuanian) history and see why it’s so important to keep and speak the Latvian language. Language is considered a part of identity and culture (could also be considered part of history as languages develop over time and are influenced by events, etc). The less a language is spoken, the more people lose their identity. Now compare the size of Russia and the size of Latvia.
      And why is Latvian nationalism insane? Latvians are allowed to be patriotic to keep their nationality, culture and language alive after being oppressed for so many centuries by Russians and partly Germans.
      Let me ask why there is a toxic patriotism in the US? Who has been opressing you? The British? For how many hundred years now? 😂

    • @artursbondars7789
      @artursbondars7789 Před rokem +11

      @@sampejke Your statement and comparison is strange and wrong. There is no official languages in US, but in Latvia there are. Latvia was founded on ethnic grounds mainly by Latvians as ethnic and culture state with purpose to preserve Latvian identity. Read Constitution of Latvia and bit of history of region, before making insane comments. All minorities is also respected. Most Russians living now in our state was illegally moved here, when our state was under occupation, and part of them do not want to learn Latvian or do not respect our customs at all. But we still respect their choice not to learn our language and customs. Nothing is forced here!

      Many USSR republics saw that "industrialization")) This is how it happened in Lugansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine, after million Ukrainians starved to death in 1932-33, they brought Russians to those territories, and now they tell those are regions of Russians. The Crimean Tatars also appreciated the same "industrialization" by Stalin. And such stories are countless.
