- Evan shows us how he lowered the rear end of his 1953 Chevy 5 window, but this approach applies to any leaf spring rear end. If you're into the look of lowering, and you want to do it to your classic car or classic truck, this video shows you exactly how to do it.

The truck is a Chevy 3100 5 window with an LS swap engine. It's a true farm truck. It's got the perfect stance. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Respect for you atleast putting in work and not acting like a clown like most these fools. Air tools would have been better but atleast you hammered at it and got the job done. Educational to some. 👍
Thanks man!
Since it is now lower in the rear, you need to lower the front about 2" so that it won't look like it has 500 lbs. of sand or rocks in the bed.
Glad you dont put music in the background of your newer vids. you should really get a Milwaukee power ratchet
Nice build. Would you mind sharing what kind of gas tank and where is the fill? I’m looking for some new options for my 54 3100.
Thanks for the video! Awesome truck! So if i understand correctly you have a 2" drop in both front and back? can you tell me what size wheels you have? I just got one of these trucks and love it so far but I have a lot of work ahead of me.
Really sweet truck, thanks for sharing the video. Would be great to hear your voice a little better, best to you man!
Thanks man. I'll kill the music after the intro.
Where the leaf springs always mounted below the driveshaft or is that custom. My old ford has them mounted above the driveshaft.
Thanks for posting. Can you kill the music after the intro next time. Please and thank you.
Sure.
Turn your volume 👇. That's always an option 😉
Big fan of the truck. Was wondering what size wheels/Tires you are running? And the width of the white walls?
Tires are Coker Classic Wide White Walls, 225/75/15s all the way around, which have a 2.75" white wall sidewall. Wheels are Wheel Vintiques 15x7 OE wheels.
can you put a link to those things you bought that lowered the rear
Hi Evan , good job . Can i ask you what did you do with the front end to get the same level ? Thanks , JULIAN .
Thank you! For the front, I installed a custom IFS kit from Scotts Hot Rods, which definitely dropped the front ~4".
Hi , wondering how you lowered the front end? I've got a 59 Apache i need to lower front and back. Anyone ?
These rear springs drop springs or did you remove leafs from the original springs?
It was a lowered leaf kit, and a 2" drop spacer.
I do not understand how putting a spacer between the axle and body lowers a vehicle. Someone help me with my ignorance.
What rear end are you running in the truck? Do you have a videos on the LS swap?
The rear is out of an S10. Its a 3.42 gear upgraded with posi.
@@ClassicNation The S-10 rear end off a 4x4? Did you have to cut thecab fire wall to fit the LS?
The front of my truck has leaf springs, not shocks, any idea on how to lower that? its a 57 f100,
Possible front axle flip. Springs on bottom
I have a 1955 Chevy truck 1300 and i want to lower my truck. I want to know how do i do the front end?
I went with an IFS setup, so it much more involved than just lowers it. If you've got leaf springs up front, you could probably just add lowering blocks up there too?
What chassis is that? Def ot a early 50s gm. S10?
It's the stock chassis that I modified, boxed in the frame rails in several spots, etc.
HOW DID YOU LOWERED YOUR FRONT END? THANK YOU
I put in a custom independent front suspension with cross member, and 2" drop spindles.
@@ClassicNation Thank you for responding
Can you tell me what size tires and rims you went with?
Wheels are 15X7 Wheel Vintique Smoothies. Tires are Coker Classic wide white walls, 225x75r15.
@@ClassicNation Thank you so much for the help
Rad music! What did you say tho?
Steven Sanabria Good point. We will dial it back for the next one.
Great video content....but that music is hella distracting. It's louder than you talking.
What about the front
wow, that music is so loud. You have a good content. You don't need this music barely hear you talking.
Yeah, too much music and too loud. Great job though.
Turn your volume down 👎
Oh the music 🙄
Good content, loose the music.
Lee Stimson Agreed. Will do.
cool but now you lost all your suspension travel, watch out for speed bumps.
dude, followed you here from reddit, remix with out the crappy joe satriana wannabe'
edit: wholly crap, i scrolled down, typed the above suggestion, then realized you spent 5+minutes spinning a ratchet? craftsman at that? get some air tools, find a new favorite tune, move further away from a runway, bulid nice looking cars :) peace
Agreed.
Turn the music up a little. It's too easy to hear what you are saying.
Zing! You got me. 🤣
@@ClassicNation Messin' with you a little bro. But you got my point. I like the video. I got a 54 3100 I'm workin on and your vid will help out.
Music sucks
Good video content but that music is annoying. Sorry.
Buy a drill
I like your video, but the music is just a little loud and I can’t really follow along at some points
I think we've fixed the audio issues on our more recent videos.
