Am I imagining it or is it every single one of these YT videos praising HD2 always playing sub level 7 difficulty?
I enjoy HD2 with friends but game has much more issues youtubers miss and mostly don't mention cause alot of 'em play it shortly and don't experience true state of the game... Like enemy spawning right behind you 1 sec as you turn camera or spawn on top of you, spawn 3 titans/10+ chargers/10+spitters/ton of fodder in ~30seconds, constant crashes, only light armor worth using because other armor doesn't provide described bonuses, only few weapons/stratagems worth using, performance hits with every patch, progression (rss gain) not being tracked, etc...
This to me is almost same as any AAA release, unfinished product thrown out for the masses to bug test instead of going Early Access release and fixing most of the issues there. Them having low prices in MTX store and that single thing override all the other issues is baffling.
And don't get me started on all the 🦜s constantly saying: "They are suffering from success!" while they have a deal with Sony that indicates Sony had trust this game would do well yet devs pocketed the money and got "surprised" by player count.

Hey on the topic of Hell Divers 2, why don't you talk about the invasive Anti-cheat? That's what keeping me and a lot of other players from playing the game. I would like to play the game but I'm not installing malware to play it. Hell one of the devs made a reddit post doubling down on the AC saying that everyone does it. I'm sorry but they have the backing of Playstation and you're telling me that they couldn't afford better servers and a more secure Anti-cheat that's not a rootkit for a PVE game. If we're gonna call out AAA games for laziness, then it should be the same for AA. Especially when it comes to invasion of privacy. The fact that people are sweeping it under the rug is disgusting. CZcamsrs that I thought had integrity have really disappointed me in this situation.

'I have been saying for years, the games with best graphics are all so good now, it's going to be difficult to distinguish a game on that alone. As it relates to VR, as an example, the first 10 titles you played, it was so amazing to look around in every direction and feel like you're in a different dimension or place. But after a while, that novelty wears off to an extent, and the game itself better have some content behind it.

I used to be a solo dev and my app was acquired, brought onto a team and that IP was used as the basis to create the 2.0 of the app, with a larger team everything became more expensive, and everything was also slower, what I was able to do in an afternoon now takes meetings and PR reviews and standup discussions, something that is 20 lines of code could take days to implement. There are a lot of perks to having a team of course, we're still small and relatively agile, but I can only see this get worse exponentially with team size and number of people with fingers in the cookie jar.
If you have all rounded skills to do everything, just do it, make the game you want to make and sell it, give Steam or Meta the 30% and keep the rest (minus server costs if you're doing MP), the reason why these AAAAA games need to have so much monetization system in place is it's simply impossible to feed a team of 500 very highly paid devs and various levels of managers with traditional waterfall models that just sells one copy of one game by the end of years long development, but if your game is just like a few dudes like BattleBit, Minecraft in its early days, Valheim, you cut through all the bullshit and just get to building the experience your users care about. Games should be made by a few people who care, not corporations.

I've been way more interested in the indie market, where you can always find new games that put AAA to shame not just by being more fun and more creative, but also releasing it in a playable state, and all that on a shoestring budget. My only fear is the actual longevity of these games.. many of my friends have become burnt out with Lethal Company, and I feel as though Palworld has disappeared as soon as it appeared. Remember Buckshot Roulette? That was popular for all of 3 days before it disappeared (which is more understandable considering it’s a one and done experience.)

I've been thinking for a while that this idea would eventually catch on with mainstream players. Alot of us that keep up on gaming news and such understand how the AAA scene has become more cash grabs than passion projects. Alot of those bigger developers have been copying ideas that seem to work for other devs (trend chasing), and trying to make many of those games live service. It's so nice to see that indie devs with fresh and exciting ideas are getting rewarded for their efforts. Great vid man!

These gaming studios have really saved the day. It’s really hard seeing studios that were once like these just become so money hungry there’s not even any passion in what they produce anymore. I hope this trend continues and these big studios learn from this instead of devs having fits at games doing better than them.

  • @ingloriousdraven7702

Keep preaching this, man! Seriously, the industry and gaming community need more studios like Arrowhead; a studio that actually gives a shit about its player base. I don't think it's a matter of triple A VS Indie games, it's a matter of studios actually putting out great content and letting your amount of play determine whether or not you turn to microtransactions. Helldivers II is doing "Live Service" in all the right ways so far, with no sign of stopping.

The problem is there's a chance even indie developers can go bad. Once you get too much money, it tends to go south from there. Ready or Not is one prime example of that in which despite having its price increased after reaching full release, the core problems with that game still persist. It used to be a tactical police FPS title that devolved into a military FPS game in which you have to shoot immediately unless you want to lose to NPC enemies that have insane reflexes. Why even bother having police/SWAT units at this point? Might as well play 6 Days in Fallujah or something else.

The way I understand this is that it’s a cycle, like palworld said, “games are meant to be played enjoyed and put away, we won’t hate you for leaving g us and we’ll be happy when you come back for more”. Something along those lines, anyways games are meant to be enjoyed in the moment, though may be sad we can’t experience the first time playing them again we enjoy it laying games that have genuine passion and care for us. Because of this the cycle of games is rolling around again with old games being let go and new ones shining in the darkest of times, I for one am glad, for what doesn’t die festers, we saw that from Minecraft’s recent mod vote

Im glad you are bringing this up BigfryTV. These people are blind when it comes to the development of games and their industrial companies. *Palworlds* and *Helldivers* took the basic formats of other games.
For *PalWorlds,* its basically *Ark, Rust,* and *Pokemon* combined. And for *Helldivers* its pretty much *Starwars* storm troopers trying to be *ODSTs* in a *star ship troopers* environment.
A finenite example that I should also bring up would be *Lethal Company,* its pretty much if *Among Us* had *SCP Foundation* added to it.
_It goes to show we are heading into a future where games that copy the formats of others are more recognized than AAA titles that have micro transactions in it._ (BATTLEPASS) **COUGH**

its somewhat similar to the gaming market crash in the 80s and happening for the same reason, companies just putting out a tide of half baked barely playable slop with the intention of making the most money out of the least effort
the only difference is instead of crashing outright the market is just moving away from them and into the indie sphere
