    I am not Christian or Catholic, I was raised muslim and I absolutely love how this man is slowly changing the world's perception of Catholicism. The so called 'christians' who are calling him the Antichrist should realize that he is actually the best thing that happened to their religion for a very long time. He preaches acceptance, kindness and modesty. How does that make him the antichrist? smh

    As an agnostic I love the Pope. He wasn't speaking about religious issues whether his faith is the right faith, like people in the comments. I HATE THAT, whether its between a Muslim and a Jew, an Evangelical and a Catholic, a Buddhist and a Hindu. I honestly don't care if Catholics call their leader "Holy Father" nor do I care if Muslims call Mohammed their prophet. What I care about as a human being, is how religious leaders, like the Pope talk about their message of peace and love.The future of the world depends on Everyone no matter what creed. He was talking about universal social issues that impact human beings. As soon as you start to label a human beings as black, white, illegal, gay, worthless, you put a label to God and you create a barrier between you and the other person and that my friends is what led to slavery, the atrocities of Hitler, the Inquisition, and every war that we as humans have created.

    I am not Catholic, however, I know more about this pope and any other. I love his views and what he is doing in the world. I am even considering on perhaps learning more of Catholicism as a home for my heart and mind and soul. He broke the mold and I admire him for that, he truly does love all from all walks of life.

      One of the main presenters chosen by Francis to promote his new encyclical on the environment was an atheist named Hans Joachim Schellnhuber.
      Schellnhuber has said that the world is overpopulated by at least six billion people.
      He is a promoter of world government and an earth constitution would hold power over every government and nation.

    I am not Catholic, but this Pope is a very caring man from what I have seen. I know the word "socialism" is a bad word in America, but we must have a form of socialism and capitalism to survive as a nation. We must find a way to make them go hand in hand, each serving the other. We are only as strong as our weakest link. We need to address the issues of discrimination and financial inequality. We must address the issue of climate change... no matter whose fault it is... before it is too late to do so. This Pope has spoken out against the American elite, so they dislike him. The more the rich dislike him, the more I seem to like him.
    Even though we are not all under the pope, we must acknowledge his place in global society today. He is the only man who is both a Pope and a King (of Vatican City). That will always play a tremendous part in history, whether you agree with him or not, whether you are Roman Catholic or not.

I see no point in arguing whether members of the Church have done evil over centuries - this i agree. that said, its my understanding that the pope's visit to Congress is as a leader of a nation discussing government and social justice with leaders of another.

      Originally I said I liked what I saw so far from the man, the King of Vatican City, has said to other world leaders about income inequality, greed, the environment, helping those less fortunate. I think he is spot on with those statements. Sorry if the oil and coal owners don't like it, but he is speaking the truth about so many social issues of today. Can't we look at the man and give him a fair listening to before we outright condemn him as the next and newest anti-Christ?

      +Tom Warren the pope refers to himself as "holy father" that right there should make you question him. Take a look at Matthew 23:9. the roman catholic church is corrupt, if you took the time to look into it you would understand why people say these things. most of the practices that the roman catholic church partake in are not biblical at all. they are all made up rituals and tradition. who is the pope to say that he has authority over men on earth. the man is corrupt and i hope you one day realize that.

    As a Catholic for many years and have followed all my sacraments and done my sacraments. I have complete faith in God. I am also tolerant of other faiths. As a Christian we have to learn to love human kind. I also love when the Pope said You don't have to be a good person to be religious. This help me understand that we are imperfect after all these years of struggling with perfection after being constantly criticized for being me.

    That last testimony from the little girl broke my heart. But this is exactly the reason why we should close the border for illiegal immigration once and for all. While the border is open like this, families and children will continuously be exploited, threatened, harrassed, raped or even killed. As Christians, I understand the need to help out our brothers and sisters who are in need, especially the refugees. Christ commanded us to take care of one another and that's what we should do but we have to do it in a safer, legal way. I am for immigration but human smuggling is not the right way. It does not respect this country's laws, it does not respect this country's people and it does not respect these immigrants' lives.

      +bigboyjerome I understand your point. Perhaps the people who risk their lives to cross the border are facing even more danger at home? That is why they leave the only country they know. What would cause you to leave this country? It would have to be pretty bad, right?
      What if the legal way of going to a safer place took many years and there was immediate danger to the lives of your family? Would you watch them die to respect the laws of another country or are you obligated to protect them no matter the means?

      Tom Warren maybe they've been promised all sorts of things by very bad people whose intentions are nothing more than just to exploit and make profit. But you're also right, I'm pretty sure some people are just plain desperate to get out of that place for whatever valid reason. That's why we have to take the initiative to lock these borders to discourage this illegal practice and find faster, more expedient solution to help those who are in genuine need of our help to come here faster. In a perfect world, we should help everyone who knocks on our doors but the reality is it just cannot be sustained. We will suffer in the end.

      bigboyjerome​ agreed. The messed up immigration system is a big cause of this problem. But as long as it's a roadblock, I believe in being open to others who are desperate for safety. I have a simple philosophy of treating others the way I would want to be treated. Since we are all descendants of immigrants, it doesn't seem fair for me to not extend the same privilege to others who need it.

      Tom Warren I agree. What a lot of people don't understand is that there are plenty of us on the conservative side of this debate that genuinely care about undocumented immigrants. We just want a system that works, that is fair and that is just to those that have been waiting patiently for years to legally get here. And then there are those, of course, that advocate extreme measures coming from both sides of this debate.

      +bigboyjerome - thank you for your reasonable responses. I slept on it and came around to your way of thinking a bit. Perhaps refugees from violent countries like El Salvador could seek refuge in other South American countries like Venezuela or Peru instead of the US? Or perhaps their immigration restrictions prevent it? Either way, they obviously see more hope for a future here.
      A young mother caught at the border to the US said that "countless people left La Paz (El Salvador) for the United States, despite the perilous journey through Mexico, where criminals prey on vulnerable migrants, many of whom are extorted, murdered, kidnapped, trafficked, and sexually assaulted. Thousands more die in the scorching wilderness of the borderlands. But this mother, like so many others, was willing to take the risk because the situation at home is so dire. El Salvador has one of the highest murder rates in the world, largely the result of gang violence and drug trafficking."
      I found an interesting graphic map of children travelling by themselves caught at the US border and where they came from: info.publicintelligence.net/DHS-UAC-Map.pdf They recounted tales of rape, murder and forced gang membership in their towns and felt they had to leave.

    I'm sorry to say this but it is the reality, he did not give any Bible verses in entire video of this interview to the people, he just give some words of encouragements.... i never heared any of verses from the bible, but you know, I respect that. And how much I (and a HUGE) respect to David Muir and to the men and women from ABC News for his interview with Pope Francis. But one thing for sure, I love them and I will never put the hate because I got no room for the hatred!

      16:18, but if we read a little more after that in Matthew 16:22 it says: “But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee
      behind me, Satan: thou art an offense unto me: for thou savorest not the things
      that be of God, but those that be of men”. So knowing that, a question
      arises, how peter could be the rock if he was used by the devil in that moment?
      To be the rock, he must be strong enough not to fell in Satan’s trap, and if the
      church would be built on him (Peter) how can he be so weak? Also in Matthew 26:69-75 tells how Peter denies
      Jesus, so once again how in a person that does not even have a faith strong
      enough to not deny Jesus be the church build?. Well Jesus actually didn’t meant
      Peter but himself when he said in Matthew 16:18 that upon this rock I will build
      my church and it is confirm by Peter himself when in Acts 4:11-12 say: “This is the stone which was
      set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
      other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”. Also in 1 Peter
      2:4-8 Peter says: 4To
      whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but
      chosen of God, and precious, 5ye also, as lively stones, are
      built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual
      sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is
      contained in the Scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief
      corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him
      shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which
      believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient,
      the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient:
      whereunto also they were appointed. Jesus is that rock where the church was built on, He is strong
      enough to hold and keep till the ends of days because he himself defeated the
      power of sin and ultimately the power of death, glory to Jesus and God for that.
      Notice that in Matthew 16:18 says “…and the gates
      of hades shall not
      prevail against it”. The actual meaning of
      the phrase “and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” One of the
      better interpretations to the meaning of this phrase is as follows. In ancient
      times, the cities were surrounded by walls with gates, and in battles the gates
      of these cities would usually be the first place their enemies assaulted. This
      was because the protection of the city was determined by the strength or power
      of its gates. As such, the
      “gates of hell” or “gates of Hades” means the power of Hades. The name “Hades”
      was originally the name of the god who presided over the realm of the dead and
      was often referred to as the “house of Hades.” It designated the place to which
      everyone who departs this life descends, regardless of their moral character.
      In the New Testament, Hades is the realm of the dead, and in this verse Hades
      or hell is represented as a mighty city with its gates representing its power. Jesus refers here to
      His impending death. Though He would be crucified and buried, He would rise
      from the dead and build His church. Jesus is emphasizing the fact that the
      powers of death could not hold Him in. Peter certainly died but Jesus
      rose from the death by his own power and defeated death. So this Peter
      couldn’t definitely be the rock. That rock was Jesus alone. It important to
      notice that after Jesus died Peter wasn’t even preaching or forming a church,
      after Christ rose from dead and talked to them, they started to work, but
      definitely Jesus was that rock of foundation.

Also base on bible verses we need to agree that Peter never was the rock of anything, only Jesus is the rock that cannot be moved, the foundation of the church. That being clarified, let me also mention that the bible never say that we were designed to build the Kingdom of God, Jesus always mention the Kingdom of God as getting near to us Luke 21:31/Luke 10:9, being between us Luke 17:21, to be preached Luke 9:2, something to search for Matthew 6:33, being inherited 1 Corinthians 6:10, as something that came to us Luke 11:19-20 which is himself God when Jesus Christ came and defeated Satan's power, sin and death. But no verse mention that we are to build it, or even designed to build it. In fact always mentioned the kingdom as something already made and if we are not ready we won’t receive it. Sometimes he mentioned it as
      his power ruling over the earth, that is what we see when he says in Luke 11:19-20 “But if I by the finger of God cast out demons, then is the kingdom of God come upon you” in others as something that no anybody will enter, physically speaking Luke 18:24 “And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!”. Of course, not that being rich is bad but that loving the money it is. The Kingdom physically hasn’t come yet, and about this he mention in Luke 22:18 18 “ for I say unto you, I shall not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come” Jesus went to heaven after resurrecting without having that second supper, but it is a promise that will be fulfilled in the future whenever Jesus come for second time with his physical kingdom. More Evidence of this we have in Revelation when John talks about the second of coming of Jesus and the Holy City. And no Sinner will inherit the Kingdom of God says 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. “Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God”. We definitely weren’t designed to build the Kingdom, but yes to proclaim it to everyone and warn that it is near to come. Plant that message as a seed in the heart of others so they get ready to inherit it. Revelation mention clearly that God will made a New heavens and new earth, so it does not make sense that the kingdom will be built on this earth because is not certainly new, clean or with no sin. 2 Peter 3:12-14 says “
      11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless”. Yes I agree that we need leaders to lead the church but no leader should or can take the place of Jesus of being a mediator between man and God. Only Jesus can do that. That is why every time I want to confess my sins I just can go to my knees and pry in the name of Jesus. He is our lawyer, because no human can mediate for us. It is just as a thief can’t defend another thief in court in front of the judge, or a murder mediate for a murder, so is the same with sinners, no sinner can mediate for us sinners, but Jesus alone that never broke the law and pay our fine in the cross…God bless you
