The Maschine is an incredibly powerful sampler, sequencer and controller and in this first video we take a look at how to getting sounds onto the pads and what to do with them.

hiya, the maschine is a midi controller. all the sounds and dsp are in the computer.
Yes, in the software you will see a down arrow next to a magnifying glass. click it and the drop down options should be FILE EDIT VIEW CONTROLLER and HELP. Click the VIEW option. There it gives you the options SMALL MEDIUM LARGE and FULLSCREEN. Choose FULLSCREEN and there you go :)

After weeks after weeks a finally found someone who explains the basic of putting sounds on a pad in Maschine..try to keep it simple for beginners after the understand the basic you can explain the effects and other things... but thanks..

This is class 101the on the real. I was watching this vid and running my mashcine software at the same time. So it was easy to see you present something. then I would pause you, go to my mashcine and exacute. You should make a 102 class of creating patterns and scenes. I can listen to you and play my machine at the same time. No special connection. Just my laptop and mashcine. awesome vid> Thank you.

It's called an Audio Interface. It's meant to convert analog signals into digital. Basically you plug your guitar or mic into it so your computer can read it.
In short, no, you don't need it. The Maschine plugs right in via USB.
you will need an audio interface as well, so you can hear audio back from your computer.

the sounds/instruments on my maschine aren't clear as yours, there is usually a bit of static with the sound. does purchasing an audio interface make the sounds more better and clear?

How do I save the slices to the pads so that when I close the program and re open it they're still there? I keep having to start over.

how come my sounds aren't even coming through my KRK's? My Maschine USB is connected to the computer, which is connected to my Audio Interface, which is connected to my KRK's. When I try to change the MIDI settings, i hear a contant beeping noise through my KRK's.

God I hate the way musicians HAVE to be I.T experts to make sound. Hacking the CIA would be easier than setting NI software up. Proper wankers. They then claim in their ads "Musicians First!". Bollox I'd reply.

Nobody forces you to be an IT Expert to make music.
This is a musical instrument, you need to learn how it works.
Just as you need to learn how to play the guitar or the piano or any other instrument before you can start making music with it.
If it's not for you then don't buy it. But tbh using it is actually quite easy once you understand how it works.

Hey, i haven't understood from where does maschine's sounds come from? I mean where is its output cable? Do you have to connect it to your speakers or into something else? Sorry but I have just discovered it and i don't know anything about it! Thanks!
hey NI users i have a little question.... Im gonna get a machine mikro mk2, so im going to install in my notebook but im getting a new one later this year, so if i install machine software in my current laptop, am i going to be able to install AGAIN in the new one???

When you buy Maschine it comes with a login that can download a majority of files from the NI Website. So you should be just fine!
I've just installed my software, and it is recognised, I've started the software, but no buttons or knobs on the unit do anything.
I assume this isn't normal?
I figured it out, thanks to NI's supports pages.
There was a clash with an old Avid Core Audio driver I had on my system. Once I deleted that, it seems to be working as expected :)
