Yeah... they wanted the Nissan to win... :-) The egolf won this and the other one in my book and it is not even a car designed to be electric from the start. Kudos to VW!!! And too bad for Nissan who started the full time production electric vehicles and dropped the ball along the way.

@@KhalidOnWheels Yea, if car supports that - why not? Bjorn mentioned that they are going to use all of the "dirty tricks" which are available in order to win the race. If eGolf allowed to use a similar dongle/app - Pawel would have used that too. However eGolf doesn't even show the battery percentage, would you say it'd be fair for Bjorn to cover the percentage gauge on Leaf's instrument cluster? :D. Imagine a race between an Ioniq and a Leaf where an Ioniq driver is asked to turn off the active cooling system, because Leaf doesn't have one :).

The Leaf was always designed to the Janese road speed 50 mph. But the one thing that makes the Leaf stand out for me, even by todays standards, is it bidirectional charging. That instantly changes it from a car to a mobile energy source that runs my heating in the winter from my driveway via the Setec 9kw mobile unit. I would like to see the test done again this time using the 62kWh Leaf as I am told the rapid gating does not happen on this car!

Actually you know, i think the Golf will do way better in the long term compared to the Leaf due to thermal management on the battery (EDIT: it doesnt), only time will tell tho. Besides, the Golf might still have higher resell value and higher interior quality.

    • @Aleziss
      @Aleziss Před 5 lety +1

@@DeerKoden the interior does indeed look a lot more refine and classy. They are worth 44000$CA here in Canada which is quite expensive for a car that has 200km of autonomy and that is in the best conditions...
when it is winter here, it get really cold often below -20°C, the range seem to drop down to around 80km with a full charge which I find unacceptable for a car of that price range... I love the look, it looks like a real car, nice interior and nice technology too... but 80km in cold weather... hmm...
anyway, it is going to be the last year we see the egolf as the new ID line will come out in 2020-21... I hope with better battery technology... I just had wish it would have stay a golf instead of a whole new line of electric models that are going to be even more expensive !

In Verbrennungsmotor Germany the Leaf would have a disadvantage.
Most providers only have one chademo at their location.
As the German goverment wanted to block EVs they made special laws.
So you have like 2 or 4 nice dc chargers but only one has a chademo. The others feature a blank steel plate where the chademo would be located. So if there is already a car charging even if it is on ccs. the Leaf has to charge super slowly on ac. Because most chargers only can charge one dc car at the time.
Even if it possible the law sais no.
Ac and dc work but ccs and chademo is illegal.
But our goverment know best so buy an Diesel instead.

@@bjornnyland i watched it all and it was not meant to be an offense... i referenced to the end where you went close and slowed down calling it a tight race 😉

I had to slow down in order to not run out of juice.

Adjusted by tactic errors and unequal software tools, e-golf won again.

    Nissan LEAF is the winner!

Yes leaf spy gave you the win, a little unfair.

Leafspy just an information tool. Its all about the car. Leaf is a winner in any sense (price and performance). eGolf seems losing on this!

Good race but this was cheating by Bjorn because using Leaf spy.... On the end with 0% without leaf spy he would go for a charging. So fraudulent victory :)

Why not bring the new I3 into the game.
