@@karisima6060 I LOVE IT! It’s such a powerful machine and can run any game I throw at it. Recently I’ve played Batman: Arkham Knight @ all Ultra settings + Debris and Rain Interaction and it barely lagged below 70fps. The screen is only 14in so it is small, but the computer is about the size of an older 13.5 MacBook so that is to be expected. Honestly, the G14 truly is a near perfect match between portability and power, and I regret nothing

@@autojr49 nothing serious, works as expected, no webcam is a huge drawback that I didn't expect though, didn't think I'd want it so bad
I don't know how to clean under the keyboard cause I know there's a bunch of shit in there after a few months of use
The fingerprint scanner is a hit or a miss half the time and the laptop might glitch or freeze on you here and there especially in zoom for some reason
But gaming is pretty good, I expected slightly better framerate but eh it's alright

Thanks a ton for a full hands on review it showed a lot of qualities and flaws first hand, there is a 2020 G14 (4900hs,fullHD 120hz,32gb RAM, rtx 2060, 1tbssd)laptop on fair price in my country, so how much worse performance in cpu, gpu is expected compared to the new G14? Is it slight improvement or huge compared to last year and this model I noted?
I just picked up a G14 because I’m traveling a lot with my job and I love it 😄
What about fan noise?
@@aliceweiss6711 fan noise gets pretty loud… even just doing some college work. You can change the fan speed to reduce noise when it kicks in while doing simple tasks. The fans do a really good job of cooling but also get pretty loud.

Been digging through the Timespy scores and can't help but notice the CPU scores of the 5900hs and 4900hs are nearly identical. If anything, the 4900hs has the lead in average CPU score.
Go do benchmarks, the 5900 is faster, may not be a insane amount but it is faster

You guys are so lucky to get laptops at such a nice price point and yet I see people complaining. I live in Hong Kong and China is 30 km away from my house where most of the companies manufacture their computers . But laptops not cheap here and also some models not even available. G14 costs 2100$ here

I literally just ordered mine 3 hours after your stream not knowing you were making a video. After watching your stream I'm 100% confident in my purchase. I'm curious to see how the Ryzn 9 holds up to 2/3D modeling.
How does it hold up? I originally looked at the G14 for a 14” that’s good for CAD modeling. Does it handle complex CAD well?

So from the time I ordered the Laptop from Best Buy ,the laptop go lost in transit, so I was pretty disappointed ,and ended up getting a refund.
In the meantime I was able to pick up a MSI GS66 Stealth with the RTX 2070, I ended up returning that laptop after 5 days. It was a super fast laptop, it ran Halo MCC, AAA games no problem, screen was great, track pad was nice, and it was a great looking laptop over all. However, I returned it because of the fan noise, it was pretty ridiculous while just watching a CZcams video or checking my email. It was always running around 2700RPM , I played with all the fan settings and it still wasn't that great. (I'd like to note that I never undervolted the laptop). Just note, that if you are looking at these laptops for gaming they will run loud and hot because they are jam packed with power. If you are stuck deciding if you should get either laptop, just think about the things (You want to do , like doing, & where you will be using your laptop ;gaming, design ect...) Also the battery life on the GS66 is not great, I bring this up just incase you will use your laptop at school or work.
@@MashEastBay I’m actually deploying over seas, so I wanted to upgrade from my 2015 Alienware with a 980M. This Zeph checks all the boxes. Portability, power, etc.
My concern is it won’t be able to run AAA games. But I’ve been out of the PC market since the R9 290 was relevant lol.
First off, awesome review. New Sub here. I completely reformatted mine and put a fresh copy of windows on it. I downloaded the Armoury Crate but now it doesn't have the power limit sliders as it used to. I downloaded mine from the Asus website by looking specifically for my model. Is there any way to get the power limit sliders back?

Anybody having concerns on over utilization of the VRAM part of this unit? On boot, it is already taking 40-60%. And I already encountered 200% utilization playing Starcraft2.

That one should be a bit better, though QHD on 14” is a bit overkill imo. I don’t know if that models display is quick or not
yes that is what im worried about aswell, but will it matter greatly if I only play triple a games such as ac, rdr2, bannerlord etc.? im really hoping for 2nd opinion since im torn between this and the g15 still will this with the 32gb ram matter alot aswell? since the g15 models only have the 16gb option *where im at atleast*
What is the battery life like for you on this machine, I literally can't find anything anywhere about what the battery life is like on the 2021 model.

Okay, so I'm here because I need some advice. Recently purchased an MSI GS66 gaming laptop that has a 2070 in it. I had this version but with the 2060 and it got hotter than hell. Would basically burn me when I would play games. Then it would black screen as I was streaming and gaming. Now I know the 3060 is better than my 2070, but the MSI has a cooler booster which makes that damn thing cold as hell while streaming and gaming. So what should I do? Take my current laptop baco and pick this up? Or keep it and pass on this, let me know please anyone!

i7 11th gen + rtx 2070 max-q versus Ryzen 9 + rtx 3060 ? GPUs are not a huge differenct, I'd slightly prefer the 30 series. The Ryzen CPU wins hands down over Intel right now on perf and power. Better Thunderbolt support with Intel products (for now). I think if you have an external GPU box the Intel could make a lot of sense, if you never would do that then the AMD build is probably the better choice.
How well would this perform in Halo games (like all the games in the Master Chief Collection)? Would this be good for streaming using an Xbox Series X and an Elgato HD60S capture card? Or even streaming and gaming at the same time only using the Zephyrus G14?

Yeah, you should be able to play pretty much all be titles with the Quest 2, though the most demanding titles might need reduced settings

How does the g14 compare to the tuf dash f15. GPU of tuf dash f15 is also 85W. The only reason I’m thinking tuf dash f15 is because of all the hype of thunderbolt (not sure if I would really need it) but otherwise I think I prefer the g14 or even g15
I just love how in britain it not only costs more just by numbers (1499 compared to 1599 here) but IN BRITISH POUNDS. that means we pay about $2200 over here. I fucking love britian.

How do you feel about the "ghosting" for comp gaming? is there a way to compensate for it, like change some settings around in game or on the system?
i returned mine because of it. i play games such as apex and warzone and the game play looked a lil laggy, other wise, i love the fk out that laptop

Hi, how about Optimus vs. G-Sync for games (CS-GO, Warzone)? Only way of plugging the 3060 directly and enabling G-Sync is through the usb-c port. But is it worth it to buy a G-Sync certified monitor to connect via USB-C?

I would say that if you get this laptop, it's worth it to get a G-Sync monitor. The ultimate downfall of Optimus is that it limits CPU performance due to it being occupied with using iGPU to process information sent from the dGPU. Getting a G-Sync monitor means that CPU performance frees up because the iGPU is no longer being used and information is accessed directly from the dGPU and not only that but because of G-Sync, you will have no screen tearing with variable frame rates (similar to FreeSync from Optimus). So you'll get higher frames on CPU bound games, slightly higher frames on GPU bound games, and no screen tearing as well. Definitely worth it imo. I plan to get one myself some months down the line after getting the G15.
@@ngeorge9673 Doesn't the USB-C on G14 bottleneck it? Also heard aobut the "G-Sync lag" before it gets on the screen - not the best for FPS.. what are your thoughts on that?

Please activate AURA key on F4 to activate the keyboard light. I also thought mine is broken...activating the AURA key on F4 starts the Keyboard light
