- This was at the beginning of a fire inspection at a library. They have an older Simplex panel equipped with voice evacuation. The speaker/strobes & strobes are wheelock brand.

I work in a military dining facility, and we have three different fire alarms in the building and out in the dining room area is exactly like the one that we hear right now, the talking one with siren
I really like this version of the Simplex Slow Whoop
Me too! It’s awesome!
Is it a fire or is an air attack imminent?
I love those alarms. They sound so cool
Reminds me of Tesla High School's old alarms, now Fire-Lite, with System Sensor L-Series horn strobes and Spectralert Advance horn strobes with BG-10s and BG-12s. It also reminds me of Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Perimeter Center and Caribe Royale.
- Isabella Gonzales and Kira Marshall
This message is a classic.
Yeah
Wow!! Wheelock speaker strobes with simplex slow wloop!!
The 33-person Smith Family was staying at the Sheraton Chaseville/Santa Angela Piccadilly when at 12:58 AM, the fire alarm at the hotel went off.
Cheryl: What's that noise?
Caiden: Sound!
Kyle: What is that?
Evelyn: Can we go downstairs and find out?
Mike: Sure.
Ryder: If I were you, I will pull the fire alarm.
Melanie: I'm going.
Jessica: What in the name of God is going on at that hotel?
Lizzie: Is this a good idea to trigger false alarms?
Cheryl II: No.
Lucy: It was the same alarm as last year.
Cheryl: Everyone follow me.
Cheryl (over alarm's PA System): May i have your attention, May I have your attention. We are currently testing the alarms at the hotel we're staying at right now. Please do not exit the building and disregard all fire alarms if possible. Thank you for your cooperation!
Mike: Your mother is telling all guests to stay in the rooms.
Jessica (over megaphone): Back in your rooms! I repeat, Back in your rooms!
Kyle: The fire alarm has my mother speaking over it.
Ariana: What's that?
Mike: She said stay in your rooms.
Lindsey: I don't get it, Do you know what caused the alarm? If so, and if possible, I would inform the fire department.
Mike: Okay.
Caiden: *goes outside with everyone else*
Jessica: It is like another fire alarm drill just like my school has all the time each month.
(After the panel is reset...)
Mike (over alarm's PA system): All is clear, you may resume normal activities. Thank you for your cooperation and your patience.
Cheryl: The alarm had our voices on it.
Kyle: Cool.
Mike: Lord, I am sorry that the alarm went off because of a main water leak in the boiler room, let's hope this will not happen again, Amen, in Godspeed.
*everyone goes back to sleep*
Jessica: Weird night sleeping.
Cheryl: Goodnight.
THE END!!!!!
Interesting emergency door buzzers too.
8:26 I believe I just faintly heard a Windows XP
I Love XP.
Love it!
0:11 The Slow Whoop Tone.
0:21 The Voice Message.
Attention Attention Attention An Emergency
@jacobisworld9516 You are right. 0:11 The Slow Whoop Tone. 0:21 Attention! Attention! Attention! An emergency has been reported. All occupants walk to the nearest stairway exit and walk down to your assigned re-entry floor or main lobby. Do not use the elevator. Walk to the nearest stairway. Do not use the elevator. Walk to the nearest stairway.
In the 4003 voice evacuation panel, it has a message similar to that but after that siren, it goes to male mesage.
+Riley Bruck the 4003 voice evacuation control panel default message is "ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION! An Emergency situation has been detected in this building. Proceed to the nearest exit and leave the building. Do not re-enter the building until directed to by the proper authorities!"
The 4100 slow whoop goes much higher and there’s a pause. The 4100U slow whoop is slightly lower pitch and it whoops continuously without a pause. But something interesting for Simplex systems is that it plays the message a few times but then continuously sounds the whoop tone. Most systems alternate continuously between message and tone.
Yes, I would agree. Where I went to school, whenever we had a fire drill you would hear the whoop tone, then the message three times, alternating until our security staff went into the panel and silenced the alarms.
the 4100U has both whoops the fast one is , the fast one
Awesome!
ExitSign250 Thanks!
Aiden got a good morning thanks dear thanks for coming out with a great evening dear dear friend elevaetr
I love that system and the emergency exit doors have shg's
That’s not an shg, the door alarm sounds like that. It’s a von duprin chexit
Was it the same location where the fire department responded and the evacuation took place?
Yes!
Sweet!
SirensOfCincinnati Thanks!
8:23 i can here the windows sound
I Love XP.
That’s the most New York fire alarm panel I’ve ever seen
Yep, this is definitely the same place as his 2010 video. Watched it and compared.
yes older is always a classic or vintage.
At 5:06 you accidentally opened the emergency exit door
I see an alarm testing in progress sign on the fire panel at the beginning of the video. Is there a requirement for a test in progress sign, or is it just a matter of courtesy? Thank you.
I will love you forever if you do a video with electromechanical horns. xP
He's made videos testing electromechanical horns.
That's neat! That's a weird mix of alarms. Looks like you got to do some elevator testing too. Now is this the Evanston, IL Public Library which you filmed the false alarm at a few years ago?
From the Looks it looks like it's the same one
msj191961 Yes it is! I was very excited to do this inspection!
tornadofreak1994 I bet! This looks like it was a fun inspection to do. My local library here in Wheaton has a 4100 or 4100U with white TrueAlert speaker/strobes. How often do you get called for an inspection?
I go out every day Monday through Friday. Currently at a high school. Hope to get a video today
+msj191961 From the tones I'd say the elevator is an older Schindler either 330A or MT although I've never seen a Schindler that uses green back lighting on the buttons.
Must be a late 90s or early 2000s Simplex voice-evac system, probably a 4100 or 4120. Reminds me of what UAlbany has (in weatherdan882002's videos), they mostly have Simplex systems with Wheelock signals.
Of course, the panel looks big enough.
And equipped with VECP
I thought strobes like in the last 5 years new.
Theres a gentex shg fire alarm some where
I'm surprised the simplex voice evacuation had wheelock speaker strobes instead of the simplex 4903 speaker strobes, I've seen that simplex systems use wheelock fire alarms for their weatherproof na's but why did they used all wheelock fire alarms, was their an older Honeywell system before the simplex system was added in or did this library have the same system since it was built
Emergitech 2004 official It was always simplex. Wheelock is common with simplex.
The Sea-tac international airport uses wheelock and simplex speaker strobes
That’s Very Weird.
On the door, is there a gentex shg or its the horn on the door or its a gentex shg horn
Horn on the door. They were alarmed emergency exits
is the buzz connected to the fire alarm
I believe so. It’s a door alarm. I think when he activated the pull station, that sends a signal to the panel to activate door alarms and other fire protection equipment.
Okay why is this library so big. The library’s in my area are like not even half this size
Alarms?
No the the break thing is covering the g
Is this the same library that was in original public library fire alarm video? Also why would they have Gentex SHG horn strobes on a voice evac system.
Gary Beltz You got it! And there are no Gentex devices in this system. It was just the horn in the fire doors.
Oh the horn sounds a lot like a Gentex SHG on continuous.
it does!
What its kind of like being on the Enterprise. But all joking aside I like this sound its an attention get her like a thunderbolt siren! You don't understand that last part of the sentence then you hell young lol!
I was the 2000th sub 😇😁😁😁😇😇😇
jeffy Dat ninja congrats and thank you 😁
Annoying that they didn’t give you the key for the exit alarm. Do they activate automatically when the fire alarm goes off?
They did and turned off once the alarm was reset. When we went through them, they called the alarm company and sent the police, which apparently the manager did not know would happen.
tornadofreak1994 ah right. Do you know what model of door alarms those are
@@blue.light.fazbear sounds like a Gentex SHG
I heard a Windows XP computer starting up at 8:27
OO I here some Gentex s in the back round
Do i hear horns too
Did I hear a Windows XP computer booting up at around 8:55?
Gary Beltz Nope
+tornadofreak1994 I heard a Windows XP computer boot up at 8:27.
dont think so.
@@tor94 but I think it was @ 8:26
The door sounds like the SHG
Why wheelock devices with a simplex 4100u ?
Fire Alarm Dude 3,000 simplex sometimes use Wheelock
What is the other red panel that is making the continuous beep when you get in the one room toward the end of the video? A retired non-voice panel?
+Gary Beltz That was the city connection panel, the one that reports to the fire department
Interesting that they put the dialer so far away from the main panel you wouldl think it would either be integrated into the 4100 or connected right next to it.
Who knows why, but that panel auto reset and all. It must be a direct city fire department connection.
@@tor94 because it will auto reset every device
Gary Beltz actually that panel is a 4020
Good video but at 5:14 does that fire alarm pull station say “Break Ass”? Lol
lol, bad camera angle! It actually says "Break Glass"
Lolololol
It says break glass but the gl is blocked by the hammer ball that you use to break the glass.
However, serve us some bean burritos and give us about ten minutes, and we can certainly break some ass!
Ooooooof
What library is this and how old is it.
+Riley Bruck Its about 20 minutes north of chicago
I meant that after those few plays, it go to siren for the rest of the video
+Riley Bruck gotcha, it plays like 5-10 times then switches
+tornadofreak1994 Totally yes
+tornadofreak1994 But I don't know why it switches.
Its by design
Is this the same building where the fire department responded?
Yes!
tornadofreak1994 thought so!
What Library Is This.

Hi
Or it might be a bigger version of the Simplex 4003
What bells
Only one play of voice evacuation message???
+Riley Bruck it played a few times, it might be hard to hear
+Riley Bruck The message plays 3 times
+Gary Beltz Actually I meant that after those plays it goes back to siren/slow whoop.
Yeah that is commonplace with Simplex voice evacuation systems. My dad used to work as a facilities coordinator at UPMC and two of the buildings had Simplex 2001 panels with voice capabilities and they did the same thing as this one did. Slow whoop twice then default message played 3 times then slow whoop until silenced. I've seen 4100u panels that do the same thing as well as ones that do the code-3 tone on here as well.
Or a 4100ES
+Riley Bruck No that is a 4100 because it does the older style slow whoop This is the same library in his 2010 video "Library Fire Alarm and Fire Department Response" I don't think the 4100ES was invented at that time.
do i here a shg
BlueSquid its the fire door alarms
ahem dear tornadofreak 1994 I don't know why those door alarms are loud whoever just put that there though it was a genius idea well it aint they need to use the stairs what where they thinking?
The door alarms were way more quiet when heard in person. The alarms go off and send an alarm to a monitoring agency if the fire alarm goes off or if the door is opened with or without a key.
lol thanks for that about it. and the replay geez I didn't know they existed. so you tried testing it right?
J Frye yea, i did inspections for the summer. However, now i have moved on to another job
@@tor94 ok then.
Bell test no bells I heard a simplex horn and a simplex ava system.
It's a general term bell test means the inspectors go around and check EVERY notification appliance (speaker strobes in this case to make sure they all working. It may have originally been coined from when bells were podominent in fire alarm systems.
attention attention, an emergency has been reported, all occupants walk to the nearest exit and do not use the elevator, walk to the nearest exit, do not use the elevator, walk to the nearest exit!! I think that's what it says I am not sure about that!!
"Attention attention attention! An emergency has been reported. All occupants walk to the nearest stairway exit and walk down to your assigned reentry floor or main lobby. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR! walk to the nearest stairway. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR! Walk to the nearest stairway."
What is the voice evacuation message saying on the fire alarms?
Attention attention attention! An emergency has been reported. All occupants walk to the nearest stairway exit and walk down to your assigned reentry floor or main lobby. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR! Walk to the nearest stairway. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR! Walk to the nearest stairway. @GaryBeltz. Right?
