Everything is in the description, from materials to my exact measurements. Friends, if there is anything you would like to know, that I might’ve missed, please ask 🙂.
I’ve already texted this to my husband asking for him to build them for me 😁. These are beautiful, I can’t wait to see the tropical cottage in all its glory!
My vote is to paint them Synergy. They look sooo nice. Once you paint them they will look even more attractive. Looks like your two apprentices (twins) are learning together with us. They put a smile on my face.
I have no idea how I missed this video…but I’m thrilled I found it…. You have great designs…from this to the greenhouse…..I’m totally gonna make this obelisk…thanks!
I love these but my poor husband is not a carpenter. I think I’ll have to find bargains or just use old bed frames, burglar doors, pieces of iron or such. Your blessed. I’ve just started my arching you by all the people that watch Eve More & glad to find you. I watched a couple here & there from 4 yr ago. It is nice to see the twins.
My hubby has built me 2 rose arbors and among other things here and there. He ran electrical out to various areas in the garden for me too. He is putting in an outside sink for me this year with a potting counter. (I had the plumbing run last summer). I installed a new pond last year and he helped me out a lot. When it was time to place all the large stone around, he and my son laid it all out for me. I am spoiled. He must love me.
So gorgeous! Those are fabulous and will add some nice height to the garden. I used to joke that my next husband will be handy, but we’ve just celebrated 32 years of marriage, so maybe it’s time for me to get handy. 😂
I love them and the teamwork that makes the dream work!!! Orange or purple. Really whatever color you will have the LEAST or none of in your garden beds. Don't forget to seal them.
The babies are adorable and beautiful. How great it is that your hubby does great work. Trust your instinct for a color, yours is pretty good. They are going to look gorgeous in the garden 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Fuscia, charisma, surfer (teal), synergy, tantalizing teal, eco green, lark green, lime green, yellow (lemon tarte), pink, or even royal blue. Black, white or any color would look amazing but since you're choosing color vibe, most any color would look fantastic! Great job and even more beautiful family.
I saw a beautiful garden on Pinterest and they had these Obelisk in their garden. They were painted a bright reddish-orange and it was stunning!!! I need some of those..
We made trellises like these 7 years ago but with much cheaper wood. (I think they were sold as garden stakes.) Reviews said they’d only last one year. We painted them with 1 coat of textured deck paint and they’re still going strong! We get 100+ in the summer and several months of snow in the winter and they stay out in it all. Go for the decking paint! The texture is a bonus as climbing plants can grip it easier.
I've seen other videos on how these are made, and they are too complicated. You've made it very simple to follow. I have my own tools, so I'm going to try it! I think I will use a dark grey stain, so I don't have to worry about flaking paint or a lot of maintenance. I think stains come in an assortment of bright colors as well. I like the idea of a bright pop of color in the garden, though. I can't wait to see your finished obelisk. Wish me luck! 🙂🙂
These are beautiful. I'm feeling Lemon Twist and Charisma so they will show up even with plants growing up them. Great job. I'm saving this to my pinterest page!
Props to your husband, one thing that I do is cut the legs with a miter of 7 degrees (bevel 7 degrees too), and the cross beams with a 45 degree miter and 7 bevel...that way you get a finished corner look and it is structurally stronger. Only a tip as I learned it from a carpenter. Also, for anyone reading this, try staining the pressure treated wood with a dark stain, allow to dry, then completely paint with a bold color (semi gloss). After it a day or so, use a sander to remove parts of the paint leaving a bicolor, antique look. Seal with a satin or semi gloss poly and voila, $$$
These are beautiful! It makes me want one more than I did before!! 💕❤️ Great job describing your process, makes it much easier for a 60 yo female to handle herself. Ps, love, love your channel, I missed your videos during your break last year. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more from you 💖
Charisma caught my eye. There is a guy in town who built and painted my obelisk. I love it. I’m sure whatever color you use it’s going to be beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Two big thumbs up for your husbands support and help! It’s so nice when our partners help us in the garden. My husband has mulched, dug, raked and many more jobs to help me in the garden!
First of all- I opened my phone and CZcams to play me some Jay-Z LOUD on my car speakers and LOW & BEHOLD!! My girl!!! With a a VIDEO! Yassssss ! 🙌🏼 😃 LOVE the obelisks! But, IMHO, I think you should STAIN them black. The flowers will POP against them and the stain will a) last way longer than paint and b) will be a beautiful neutral in case next season you want to change up your tropical vibe. Colored Pots and plants can give you your tropical 🏝 vibe. Idk 🤷🏼♀️ just my humble opinion. However, I was soooo HAPPY to see you did a video. 😊♥️ Thank you.
These are beau-ti-ful!!!! Even better that they were made with love. I like the Surfer blue, and since the color is a little deeper, it might hide the extra dust/ dirt outside.
Eco green! If you want them to fade into the background when the plants start to grow. Or synergy for pop all year. These are so gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.
This is so brilliant! I love your projects. We had some cedar 1 bys leftover from a fence build and I have been keeping them for three years in my garden shed. Now I know what to do!
While I love looking at color in other's gardens I am just a safe person lolz I'd go black stained but am excited to see your creation and personality pop out of these. Beautiful job
What a beautiful addition to your space!! Kudos to you and your husband for a job well done!! Synergy and Charisma get my vote! 😊 tysm for details....from your Garden Friend Francine 💐🌺
I just love your channel as I am a avid garderner myself. Will be making this obelisk for my garden. Great idea, simple and easy to follow. Thanks for the materials list. Keep up the good work and I look forward for future gardening plans and ideas from you. P. S. Your children are adorable and it is nice to have a good hubby that works with you.
I love your Channel , you are an amazing young woman, wife, and Mother…. and when your husband works with you it is such a beautiful scene….I’m grinning as I watch, as if I am your Mom / Grandma and your husband is my son-in-law🥰. Y’all just keep on loving and working and raising those sweet children TOGETHER!Blessings and a big hug, 🌺🥰🙋🏽♀️
Thank you for sharing this. I built three today. I don't have quite the skills you guys do (you make it look effortless), but they turned out pretty good anyway.
Everything is in the description, from materials to my exact measurements. Friends, if there is anything you would like to know, that I might’ve missed, please ask 🙂.
These look great! You sure saved a lot of money by doing these yourself ;). I might try it to support a clematis plant or yellow beans!
Do you know where you want to place them this year?
@@kasiad1995, q
@@kasiad1995 yes. In the new area I’m working on, where I added the 5 large green giants.
What kind of finial did you use on top?
This is brilliant. Can’t ask my husband to build mine yet. He’s still recovering from building our shutters.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Showed your video to my hubby and said he’ll build me one. I’m so excited.
Sis, having a handy husband is SUCH a BLESSING! My DH can barely put a bookshelf together lol🥴 What a beautiful family y’all have🙋🏾♀️❤️🙏🏾
My husband passed away and so I KNOW it is a blessing

Love, love this project ❤️ Synergy and or Charisma would be a good choice
I’ve already texted this to my husband asking for him to build them for me 😁. These are beautiful, I can’t wait to see the tropical cottage in all its glory!
Curious how he responded. I get a lot of those texts. Some get the 🙄some get the 👍. ha ha, have a great day!
@@movaughn20 response was, “when would you like them finished?”- so positive! Sometimes I get a “no way” but often he says yes 👍
They are beautiful . I like the turquoise colours.
Your husband looks as though he has done these a lot!! So awesome! I want to do some of these!
Omg the babies jumping at the sound of the tool😭. Lol. Reminds me of my children. Love how these turned out!! For color I like Midday & Harmonic Tan 😍
Lime green is a great color that pops in the garden
My vote is to paint them Synergy. They look sooo nice. Once you paint them they will look even more attractive. Looks like your two apprentices (twins) are learning together with us. They put a smile on my face.

You are so lucky to have a wonderful man that you can show a picture to and say can you build this for me and he can. Awesome.
A family project day! Those are my favorite.
Synergy and lemon twist are calling to me

Syenergy LOVE YOUR OBELISKS. TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK. WONDERFUL FAMILY 👪
Love this video I will get on making when weather gets warmer . The children are so cute being nice to do things as a complete family.
Those are the most gorgeous gardens!! Coming from a plant nursery owner and landscaper/designer!
I love a DIY project. I like reds and oranges in the garden. Fellow Marylander. 😊 God Bless!
Those are beautiful! I can see some Clematis, Honeysuckle, or Sweet Pea growing on the obelisk.

These look so cute. I can imagine it covered with 🌸.
I love these......Choose one of the beautiful greens.....then, whatever color you grow on it will shine!
Beautiful! Looks very easy to do. The color that I like is charisma, it will contrast with the green of the leaves.
Your twins have grown so much!! They are beautiful!
Fuscia, charisma, surfer (teal), synergy, tantalizing teal, eco green, lark green, lime green, yellow (lemon tarte), pink, or even royal blue. I’ve wanted to make one of these so badly. You and your husband make it look so easy. I love your color palette and can’t wait to see them painted!
Really, really like these. Thanks so much for sharing. 😊👍

Your kids!!!! ❤️ Adorable. The obelisks are cool too.
Poor baby said, I am outta here whenever the saw powered up lol. These look fantastic.
This was a great and easy to follow obelisk( obelisque ) tutorial ( tuteur). Thanks!
Love these, something easier than cutting the angles and bevels. Thank you so much. They are just georgous. I will paint mine white

Hey Susan, I’m 60 and built one last year by myself! Easy pesy!
Charisma caught my eye. There is a guy in town who built and painted my obelisk. I love it. I’m sure whatever color you use it’s going to be beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Love these Moya!! Perfectly done. I like the idea of a birdhouse on top. I also love you working with your husband 😘
Midday and synergy I like! They look great!
They are beautiful! You can use an opaque stain tinted to any color you like to avoid paint peeling and chipping in the future.
Aaaaahhhh thank you for this Donna. I love the idea because I was worried.
Love the obelisks. Y'all did a great job.
Plan to make some for my garden.
Thanks for all the details.
