    I particularly enjoyed all the non-calculation mathematics you did in this video; these are great approaches to finding the line you need, partly because they are so robust. No opportunity to waste material by fumbling numbers, and many opportunities to make small adjustments based on seeing the work take shape in front of you. And as always, I enjoyed the video.

    Looks really good and a nice colour. I can imagine they are quite expensive to buy in the shops. Good use of scrap wood 👍🏻

    Yay, just spent the last 3hrs sorting my garage out and building some storage so ive only just sat down with a cuppa , perfect timing 👍

    I loved the end result, adding the finial on as a finishing touch made them look really good and the paint just pulls all of the pieces together.
    I have to admit that I was waiting for the wood to bow when you ripped it down, it often happens as the tension in the wood is released and I have had more than a few bananas come out of the other end of a rip cut 🙂

    I hope that the Boss was suitably impressed Matt ? Was that a Mother's Day present, or was that the "Gift For Hard To Buy For People" video ? 🍷😉
    I fitted some lengths of Aluminium angle to the bottom of my Obelisk legs to Anchor it and to keep the timber off the ground you could alternatively use galvanised roll pins to achieve the same result !

    A potential improvement to stop the bottoms rotting and a chance for a little more height - maybe drill some deep holes in the bottom and push some lengths of rebar into them which can go into the ground.

    just like the way that you do your videos but i want to ask i have truble with spelling but cutting lets say a 4 by 2 straght down for it to be square any tips on that to help me improve yes i could use a chop saw but i like cutting by hand
    any tips be great thank you matt

    • @WonkyStud
      @WonkyStud Před 2 měsíci +1

      I think you should just buy a miter box if you want to cut straight by hand, very cheap also

    • @Badgerworkshop
      @Badgerworkshop  Před 2 měsíci

      I think the mitre box advice is a great one. I would try that

    • @CalPil0t

      I think he may be looking for a reliable technique to cut a 4 x 2 lengthwise by hand rather than a table saw.

    • @WonkyStud
      @WonkyStud Před 2 měsíci

      Pfew sure hope not but in that case he should fix 2 straight edges on top of the 2x4 with a tiny space for the blade in the middle or something and grease those elbows
