Thanks for the tip Smoak I never thought about doing that. I know your glad you got a ride in yesterday. Stay safe
Thank you for the tips about the tires Good info Great seeing you guys take care
Awesome tech advice...love those vlogs👍
Hey Shawn, my local HD dealer, Robin Hood HD in Nottingham UK, told me not to put any anti-puncture tyre sealant, in my FatBob’s tyres, as they found that it created corrosion on the inside of the alloy wheels. I’ve always previously had it in. I realise on the Slim that has tubes in the tyres, which is lucky! I wondered if you had seen internal corrosion on HD alloy wheels?!!
Ride on won't cause any corrosion if 1) the correct ride-on product is used, and 2) it is installed per the instructions. The instructions call for doing the install so the product does NOT touch the wheel. People with the corrosion issues are saving $$ and buying the cheaper ride-on versions designed for ATV's which doesn't work well in a Motorcycle because it is thinner and doesn't coat the tire properly, and hence splashes around inside a Motorcycle tire. So, be sure to get the right product and you'll have great success.
Can't see the point in using tyre sealant in a tubeles tyre and don't think it works well in a tube tyre. Do carry a tubeless repair kit tho.
.... I gotta confess... I am getting addicted to your videos.... they indeed make my day... thx a Lot!
The tube tires always had me concerned when I had my Heritage. Can’t just throw a plug in on a road trip like a tubeless tire. Good info on a good product. Thanks Mr. Smoaks.
I like the position of the tyre valve. This product is essential for tubed tyres.
I've been using Ride-On now for a couple years, based on your recommendation, and I love it. I think it also allows the (tubeless) tire to run cooler, which I think also slowed the wear on my rear tire. I got almost 15k miles on my rear where other guys are getting far less than 10k. Absolutely worth the cost in my opinion. I thought I recognized those Air Force wings. Make Monday Great Again! Peace and love.
Shawn, that’s interesting information on the Ride On and your tires. Excellent Vlog. Hope the weekend was a good one. Have a great Monday Kelly and Shawn. 😊
That is great stuff. I've been using it for years. You actually need to up the recommended quantity by 25% if you want tire balance without wheel weights.
They don't claim quite as high a puncture resistance with the tubed tires, but I run it in those too and I've yet to have a flat in anything since I've been using it. Not that I got them all that often before I knew about it.
Interesting mod! Thanks for explaining how it works, hope the weather breaks soon, although I’m sure the rain is well needed!👍
I didn't know about the tire pressure on the tire vs. the bike manufacturer recommendation. I have always just gone by the tire pressure listed on the sidewall. Looks like I am going to be checking my tire pressures today! I almost got a ride in yesterday. I got one of my bikes out of the shop, went back in, and by the time I came back out after gearing up, I could see it was getting ready to just start pouring rain. Got the bike back in and the rain DUMPED about 5 minutes later! Still had a good day starting the tear down of an old 1964 Honda CT200 engine. I bought the bike a couple of weeks ago down in Centrailia and I have the rest of the bike already torn down and ready for media blasting. Unfortunately I found water in the cylinder and in the engine, so the whole thing has to come apart. Found a guy in Tumwater who does cylinder boring for bikes, and got that done after finding a NOS 1mm oversize piston and ring set. Looks like my low dollar, few week project just grew on both accounts.
Love project bikes like that! Wish I had the time....
Thanks!!
That's some purdy cool stuff. You bring a wealth of knowledge to the motorcycle community.
Thanks Gus!!
Great video as usual , Shawn! Awesome bike too..... I SO hope I can get one fore i'm to dang old...lol. So awesome that you get to enjoy it.... ride safe Dude!
Thank y’all
Thanks for that info, Thanks for sharing a Piece of Your Life with Us.
Love all your vlogs, a lot to catch up on though! ☺️ You are both becoming a daily moment for me. Watching from Exeter Devon, Uk. Wish our roads were as quiet as yours! Love watching your ride outs and tech updates too. Teaching us and getting rid of bad habits.
Just thought I’d also mention, .....it’s ‘glasses’ on, not classes! 😄👍🏼 Ride safe on ‘ole slim!’
Great product what a beautiful bike you have all the way from Aussie

Good tips!
Sweet looking bike!
The only bike I've seen in matte, besides the Triumph 675R in my garage that I really like.
Learning has taken place I thank you 🤗👍
Thanks Graham!
Thanks Shawn never hear of that product very cool. Love the doggies Be Cool and Ride Safe🇺🇸🏍🐶
Beautiful bike! My dream bike as well..color-wise. I will throw Carlini gangster apes and Hacker Mayhem exhaust on mine. Awesome!!!! This bike looks SUPER even stock. Insane!
You and your Slim have started me on some thing I can't seem to stop...I am making inquiries into trading in my beautiful 48 for a Low rider, not sure yet but knowing me. Look what ya gone and done! Thanks guys
Lol... Bikes have a way of drawing you in!
Thanks Mark!
Sorry Spock let us down. Stay safe and have a great Monday with some rips.
very informative. Do you remove the lead weights on the wheel or just let them on? Also, your saying if bike sits for 3 months or longer the first ride will shake for a little bit? Mine can sit up to 5 months over winter. I was thinking about that ride on stuff.
Unless the wheel has a balance issue prior, I just leave them on...
Thanks!
I know they’re thicker , how do you find those stock tires shawn ? I hated scorchers on the sporty
What brand of tire gauge are you using? I am having trouble finding a good one :)
Hi Shawn, great video as always! What Pressure gauge do you recommend? I've been looking an affordable one (around $40) that is accurate. Thanks!
At work and home, I use the Pressure, Inc. DT150-34CV Performance Gauge: www.pressureinc.com/ and they're right around $40...
Thanks Brian!
Can it really work with a tube tyre if the tube splits? Its a shame they don't make those spoke rims tubeless.
Like all sealers (and tubeless plug inserts), they're for small punctures only..! Bigger holes, split tubes, etc, a sealer or plug is not going to work. There are simple tubeless conversion kits for any tube-type wheel... But I love the good old fashioned tube-type spoke wheel myself. Lol
Thanks!
Man, we need some rain here. That hurricane has produced us long hot days
The Dunlop guy that one of our mechanics deal with told him that they wear and run better with 2 extra pounds in them 😎😎
Hey Mr Smoake, what is that bell on your slim, front of engine by brake pedal? Thankyou for the great vids sir, greetings from your friends in New Zealand. Sorry sir I just watched all of the video and answered My own question ha ha
Here's a quick explanation of the Gremlin Bell: www.bikebandit.com/blog/the-legend-of-the-gremlin-bell-a-bikers-tradition
Thanks!
Would you recommend this for use with 2017 R 1200 GS/GSA tubeless wheels and sensors
I've used it in all my GSA's... Does not harm the TPMS sensors.
Thanks!
@@TheSmoaksVlogs thanks
Send some to Georgia please! Great tips on tire air pressure.
Rain that is, it's dryer than a powder house down here.
I really have a question I couldn't find an answer to all over the
internet. Does adjusting the rear suspension in Softail slim decrease
the vertical gap between the fender and the rear tire? Does suspension
adjustment change the bike height in any way? Softail slim is a
beautiful bike but the rear fender is so high that it bothers me.
In a way yes... Increasing the stiffness will decrease the sag while riding, and vice versa when decreasing stiffness. However, the bike will always look the same with no rider mounted (no suspension sag). You may have to find a shorter shock to achieve the low rear stance you're looking for...
Thanks Anirudh!!
New subscriber!
hey Shawn.what jack do you use and where to buy..your vids are very enjoyable
It’s a K&L jack, there should be a link to it in the description...
Thanks!
Hi there, finally pulled the trigger on ride-on. Did you remove those wheel balancer or just leave them as it is? Having a blast on Slim!
Unless we're replacing a tire, we leave the weights on the bike when adding ride-on... Awesome, how could anyone not love a Slim..? Lol
Thanks!!
TheSmoaksVlogs thank you sir! Appreciate it. My front wheels dont have wheel balancer. Just the rear. Kinda weird
ad78 - It’s not too uncommon for a tire & wheel to balance out perfectly, requiring no balance weights... If it’s not hopping like crazy at higher speeds, you should be good to go! 👍
But what about the gremlin bell?
She’s on there, did you miss it..?
Thanks!
Gostei show 😁🤗👍🇧🇷
I sold my 87 FL today....post-partum has set in......
Nice tip, Shawn. I put new HD "custom" wheels and tires on my Street Glide, and while they look good, my bike vibrates noticeably >80mph. Hoping this product does the trick.
Can you hear the echo chamber? When you say " Well hello there youtube " We're all going Hi Shawn!
Lol, thanks Woody!!
I call this Vlog...TIRE TUTORIAL...Ride Safe !!
This product is sold out anywhere..
Boy are we ever aware of that..! We use it a lot at work.
Thanks!!
TheSmoaksVlogs those small 8oz only. I guess you guys use those gallons in sizes
My bell is us navy...

You need a sidecar for your dog.
