    I have been a bit anti- HD all my biking life but when I saw this model I just fell in love with it. When you see a vehicle that is perfectly executed you have to respect it even if you are biased. One of the best looking bikes ever made in my opinion. The only Harley I have ever lusted after. Must count for something.

    Have the same bike, and I love it. Being a shorter, guy changing the shift peg to the square ones Harley offers was a great $30 to spend to help give a litter extra space forward to your feet.

    Got mine about a month and a half ago and nobody can wipe the smile off my face... Traded in my Roadster for it, because I got tired of sitting cramped up on it with the mid-controls. I'm 6,2 and with the forward controls and floorboards it's perfect for me. Bought it as a demo with the Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde exhaust system on it and just love it to peaces! All I did as for mods is some RSD grips which I also had on my Roadster (the stock grips look ridiculous and they stick right from the start) and I bought a detachable windshield for long rides on the motorway and the side mount for the plate (all bikes in the Netherlands come with ugly fender mounts). Like to do some mods on the tank trim and gascaps, the headlight trim and maybe a different seat because I feel the edge of the stock seat in my bottom after long rides... Anyway, lets keep in touch, I like your videos!

    • @TonysGarage
      @TonysGarage  Před 5 lety +1

      Congrats on the new bike! I changed the grips also same day I took delivery. In need of a better seat just can’t settle on one yet. Ride safe!

  • @maxgiii_beach_street_photo7161

    thanks for ur videos. I m thinking to get or the street bob or the slim...the only thing about the slim is those floorboard that i think in the twits could be just a disturb and the street could be more easy to drive, don't know. The look of the slim makes accelerate my heart.

    She is a beauty of a motorcycle. If I were in the market for a new bike then it would be either the Slim or the Lowrider. However I love my 48 too much to part with her, besides I don't need more of a motorcycle, 48 is plenty. Love the colour of your Slim. Happy riding Sir.

    Thanks for the valuable feedback. I love the new softail lineup and I'm undecided between the Slim and the Softail Standard. I really thought I was going to get the Standard but the more I learn about the Slim the more impressed I am. Thanks to your video and others like it I'm really leaning towards the Slim now. Another reason is the difference in size between the two bikes in fuel tank/ride range. I love the bigger tank on the Slim but love the aesthetic of the Standard tank.
    My question to you is after owning the bike for over a year did you notice a significant loss in fuel economy/mpg after doing the stage one??

  • @garyc9030
    @garyc9030 Před 5 lety +3

    Tony, glad see you are loving the bike. I do wanted to keep the stick seat for the look but at 6 ft 250.... not comfortable at all for me over 100 miles. Plus on freeway with my mini apes felt like I was gonna get blown off that little seat. Try a Stage 4 and you’ll be amazed! Power is crazy.... but it’s all 4000 RPM and above. I’d suggest Stage 3 if you don’t want to ride high RPM.
    Next for me is a club style fairing and shield.

    • @slyguyaction
      @slyguyaction Před 5 lety +1

      Chris,
      A quick Google search will provide lots more detail than I can but generally speaking, the fluid migration from the transmission into the Primary, Stage 2, 3 and 4 kits having oil pump issues that starve the engine of oil killing them, dual counterbalancers that almost eliminate the classic Harley shake at idle and they don’t sound like any Harley engine before them.

    • @garyc9030
      @garyc9030 Před 5 lety +3

      A few thousand miles on my Stage 4 Slim.... no oil migration at all. No problems at all. I agree in stick trim with lack of vibration is.... add Stage 4 and a full pipe like my Public Enemy 2 into 1 and you get s lot of that Harley feel back. Bike is a rocket now

  • @tomedwards159

    Ascetics of a motorcycle are important to me also based in the fact that most of my most have been about that...I’ve always wondered with the old school bobber look that you like and that bike has would you consider white wall tires after you have to change them out? I think they would be a good look on that bike and add to the overall design.

    • @TonysGarage

    Hi ..
    Very interesting vlog.. with your stage 1 have you found the the engine pulls evenly through the rev range.. has it improved performance above 3000 rpm ?

    • @TonysGarage
      @TonysGarage  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes sir, I don’t have any hard data this is just the way the bike feels. It feels much stronger in the higher rpm range. That could also differ according to your stage one part selection. Thanks for watch, ride safe!
