Huge tornado strikes World Cup hosts Qatar! Hailstorm in Ras Laffan

On Wednesday, December 7, a massive tornado hit Qatar, with video showing black spiraling storm clouds descending on the desert country. Another video shows a narrow view of the tornado seen from farther away.
The weather phenomenon was spotted near Ras Laffan Industrial City, around 50 miles north of Doha. Ras Laffan is less than half an hour's drive from Al Khor stadium, the most northern of the World Cup venues.
Tornados are rare in Qatar because of the nation's arid climate and lack of clashes in air mass.
The World Cup host has also been hit with torrential rain for the first time since the tournament kicked off last month.
Qatar's Meteorology Department shared footage of downpours and powerful hailstorms in the city. Roads in Ras Laffan have even been flooded due to the sudden and highly-unusual deluge.
People in Qatar were warned of ‘thundery’ conditions and urged to be careful of the unpredictable weather.
The channel lists such natural disasters as:
1) Geological emergencies: Earthquake, Volcanic eruption, Mud, Landslide, Avalanche;
2) Hydrological emergencies: Flood, Tsunami, Limnological disaster,
3) Fires: Forest fire, Peat fire;
4) Meteorological emergencies: Tornado, Cyclone, Blizzard, Hail, Drought, Tornado, Hail, Hurricane, Tsunami, Storm, Thunderstorm, Tempest.
