I actually saw an ariel musical that was staged at a movie theatre, that was converted into theatre long ago, and they used ropes to make the main characters literally flying in mid-air and the whole stage whicj was square and big generally looked like a big aquarium.

I don’t understand really belting out “pathetic” at the beginning of the song. Isn’t that supposed to be more of an aside to Flotsam and Jetsam? Ursula sings it kind of under her breath in the film. It’s not really for Ariel to hear. It kind of undercuts the the line itself to really emphasize it so much, IMO. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie, and my favorite childhood movie, so if I saw this in its entirety I’d probably spend days picking it apart LOL. It really was fun to watch. We did this musical at my school and our Ursula was actually very similar to this performance, we were very blessed to have her. She would move around, had sophistication, and her voice was super rich and deep
