Why hasn't nobody thought of this before? Even when legos existed?
Because people and practicality are boring.
Still exist.
Cost more
That's a double negative.

Wow 👏that is so cool! I'd like to build a tiny house in my parents back yard for guests or to use as a hobby space instead of a shed
You mean, your own house?
Honest for a tiny house is more better then a big house. That a good idea
Good idea but I have check every single link and is not possible to see the final results. I am very interested on it. Could you please send the full video and how it work with Cities permites and zoning. Thanks
They never make it that fast before a gust of wind blows the whole thing over. And if course you can't have any running water or electricity.
So where does the wiring and plumbing go?
Only problem with this is because it's so thick the house you build would have to be an extra 1,000 sq ft larger than if you built it normally.
Not a problem young man
@@adnergy what? Was there an answer or question there?
The insulating qualities would be awesome
@@SS-L.O.T.O. Obviously you need an extra 1000 sq ft. Thats a problem if you have a small parcel of land.
Houses outside of the US aren't made from cardboard and typically have thick walls anyway for insulation and sound dampening, so this isn't much thicker than those.
id have to wonder if this is strong enough to stand up to North American risk loads like heavy wet snow on the roof which is common in New England, or the high winds that can come with some of our normal thunderstorms let alone the hurricane seasons of the Southeast. Or a California earthquake.
Didnt mention tornadoes because no home building method survives totally unharmed when a tornado has your number.
Been 4 or so years, and cannot really find a video of the houses being done from start to finish completely with these. 3D renders are not real. Only seen half built houses, sounds to good to be true. Id have to question how sturdy and rigid these are. So I completely agree. Also since its made with OSB and not solid pieces of wood for structure, im sure their has to be a weight limit and room size limit, no way that can keep a 40 x 32 room from collapsing nevermind a master bathroom with a full jacuzzi tub full of water/shower. You're putting cross braces into OSB board and not real world..... Ya they put wood trusses up the sides for drywall and outside boarding but that wont do much at all , what about the expansion and contraction of the wood during wet and dry seasons. I feel like this has not been tested enough. No info on any of this. I feel its a scam.
Nothing survives a tornado? steel concrete framing, triple pane windows, steel rafters and roof tiling with concrete plus fiber concrete gutters. The "only" danger is stuff the nado throws at your house which is usually not much (do need to protect your windows though - triple pane does hold very well on 160+ mph winds
Looks great but some important questions I dont see answered. Plumbing and electrical?
They finish it with stud walling, so all electrical and plumbing will be hidden within.
this is so neat
This is neat but what about wiring plumbing and ac. It is cool for shed or garage but not entire house
I mean, it's cool and all, but has it been tested? Can we have info on the company that did this?
Why would the wood stay attached to the styrene? What holds the wooden pieces together?
How do you install the toilets and kitchens
Sure I grew up with Lego's as a kid and I've watched and enjoyed all the lego games and movies. Even to this day those movies and games I play with my daughter now; minecraft is always fun to play with her. However I just can't get past the idea of not having any support joist, beams or clamps install where they would be normally needed to reinforce the strength of the structure being built; hell where are the BOLTS and NAILS! Granted I'm by no means a carpentry pro or nothing like that but dang, one strong tornado, or hurricane Micheal blow through and that thing I feel is done. Look at what happens to the building we currently build in extreme weather conditions. However, I digress a little because I still think this is a cool concept if it works and if anything, I'd probably get a project like this going for something small like build a music studio separate from my house with this system, or a separated garage, storage, or mother-in-law suite or something to that effect. Definitely one story too.
But when the concert's over, all THE WALLs tumble!
Where can you get these from?
So does that mean all wiring or plumbing is to be exposed??need more video of the finishing parts of this build
It looks as though the entire structure is reinforced with stud walling. The wiring and plumbing could go between the stud partitions and would most likely then be concealed by insulation/plaster board.
Do you still need to insulate this further ? Looks like thick ass walls are very insulated already
@@bhante1345 the thickness of the walls and added framing would make for crazy thick walls and wacky floor plan.
Yurts, we should all just live in yurts.
So it looks like the only structural connections are in the interlocking foam blocks - thus foam is the only part of the structure taking on shear loads?
That's not going to work in hurricanes.
Come to America, please!!!
I would like to know the cost?
Can I get the details of the company that makes these blocks
im still confused where all the electrical & plumbing goes?
I want to know the name of the organization and talk to it please, I need it
Where can I get them from?
What is the cost difference between building one of these and a stick built home?
27$ each square foot for the blocks
@@illusionarygull3844
😮
Do you still have a source for this?
Would this mean a 30*60cm standrad block is like 54$😢
Or did you mean sq foot of thonhouse area under blocks?
Styrofoam is not recyclable, and they say natural glue in the chip board but don't say what natural glue they use.
I think you are missing the very simple fact that it keeps us breathing clean air! I think it’s freaking genius.
Have you seen the way the Japanese build houses? Somebody play the video
Soon i will be looking for land here in Montana for sale and if affordable i want this! a small cabin built with these blocks! cant wait!
I can't find a link to a US based sales contact. I don't know from their own web site if they sell in the US yet. Depending upon cost, I would be all over this!
I was very clearly stated in the video that this is a Belgian product.
There is literally no advantage compared to just building a timberframe, insulate it and cover it up with OSB. It's the same thing, easier, cheaper and less excess material used.
Ok I stand correct to my last comment. I had to go dive into this further. THEY DO INSTALL BOLTS AND SCREWS INTO THEM! 🤣😂. Also certain sections from what I've seen has a unique way of bracing together for strengthening and sturdiness. Still looking for more information on these systems. I'm just so curious because being from the US, I'm sorry things are crazy here and the weather patterns are unpredictable more-so here than anywhere else I've been in my life.
No pipes or electrical connections in sight.
@@Eastside313JeffersonAve Yeah it wasn't. But I did watch another video and those guys in that video built an extented hollow area that created a gap between the blocks and where the interior wall is. I forget the measurements they mentioned but they said thats the area where the plumbing and wires would go and they showed them cutting out sections for it, sealing them and buttoning up everything as you would normally right before painting. I'll have to find that video I watched and link it here in the thread.
That reminds me of kids’ Minecraft game. Looks sturdy & insulated though. Nice!
the worst thing is when down part broken and you need to remove almost the whole house to fix it with that thicknes
Why?
Just use wood glue, epoxy, PU foam and OSB
how can i reach this company
Is this tornado and earthquake proof?
Looks awesome, but where is the plumbing & electrical....
where is the rest?
But how to get these giant legos
Friend:"hey bro what is you house made of
Me:"... Lego"
i love this idea so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is perfect for custom home builders
What does the plumbing (wet wall) and electrical setups look like?
While this is an interesting idea, the video doesn't show ANY of the more complicated aspects to building construction.
Also, this seems to only be for the framing and insulation but not the fascia and finishings.
Do the research
Dig a bit and you'll see R values
No thermal bridging
A system already in place for electrical and plumbing etc
A few people 7 days to erect a 2000 sqft 2 level house
You don't need an architect
They do it
If your handy the services can be diy with sign-off etc
They aren't here and as it is they can't meet demand going full bore.
Someone needs to do it here
Probably they won't
Hardly anyone but a relatively small group is capable. 😊
How would they stand up to a cat 4 hurricane...and the flooding aftermath?
Gablok was made specifically for the British, scottish and Romanian market where there's no hurricanes/tornados and barely any flooding. So I don't think they designed it with that in mind
Bom dia .
Em Portugal há alguma empresa com representação deste tipo de construção 🏠 ?
battaglia grave engenharia e construção lda
No electricity?
HVAV, plumbing, electrical,…?
What company does this ? And what is the cost of this ?
It's about 250€/m²in Belgium. It"s a Belgium company. But with the increase of wood price maybe the price is much more higher
They are very thick do.
How would you run water ad electrics, you would need in side stud walls you hide it all
It literally said you would have to still do some technical work
I would assume you would have to run some interior walls still just like log homes.... At least chase walls and bulkheads
@@superhero6297so what’s the advantage with these? It’s neat but not very practical
Just plug and play guyezzzz 👍🥳🎉
How do you do the electrical or plumbing?
They have studs inside the blocks. Run it through that and the drywall
@@thatkidmingming7390 true
So you're tied to certain points? F all that.
@@alexanderjauregui9744 what does that mean is it bad?
@@alexanderjauregui9744 going by the video, the put up stud walling in the end, so you can literally chose anywhere that suits you, then dry wall over it.
Still think the best is the 3-D printed all cement homes
Are those insulated
@@jacksonvaldez5911 ya mater fact all throughout because the foam fill all the cement walls and basically solid sound proofing in every single room
Plumbing? Elecrtrical?
It literally said you would still have to do the technical work
Yes it says you have to still do technical work but my question would be can you put holes through it to do so or will it damage the blocks
you put a installation layer on the inside of the walls with the space for electrical boxes, wires and tubes.
Let them cook ✋
These guys playing Minecraft in real life
It's dream for any Minecraft player
Somehow i doubt these meet the standards in Norway 😂
kinda wanted to see the finished product
czcams.com/video/xJTlc7s8bBs/video.html 2:27, your welcome
when hurricanes come, just rebuild it
probably the motto of the company-
Gablok was made specifically for the Romanian and British market...no hurricanes there
Avelable in india?
What if someone starts unbuilding it and steal your house😢
...WHERE DOES PLUMBING AND ELECTRIC GO, THOUGH?!
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
You can see the wooden standoffs that they install on the inside. I imagine the drywall gets nailed to those and the plumbing and electrical are between the drywall and the blocks.
Can I get this in United States
I wish 🙁👍
Already can tell plumbing and electrical is going to be a huge overpriced problem for something like this. Thats why there are no videos of the finished results and or any proof of homeowners 😂😂😂
The services are part of the design
Routed electrical/ plumbing etc
HVAC it's a clever system probably above your current skill level.
@@robcrissinger776 You are rude and not helpful.
@@robcrissinger776 please explain to me this "clever system." I'm truly am curious and im always interested in learning something new to help my craft. But your comment screams ignorance.
Please explain to me what you mean by clever system? A video or a simple breakdown would be sufficient to see this is not just a gimmick?
@@patrickromanowski5911 He/she will never reply.
@@adrianjanssens7116 exactly. Everyone all of a sudden becomes a structional engineer, architect and or master electrician/plumber while typing behind a a phone willing to critique everyone because they access to Google. A comment like that simply makes me ask how and makes me want to ask them to further elaborate so I can learn more myself. You never know when it can pop up in a conversationa amongst coworkers and or current or potential client(s)
It always helps to be interested in learning more and more whether you have 20 years or your a helper.
Still waiting for a response, not be a dick but out of simple interest and curiosity on what this clever system is or would be?
Sounds like another building con job the company does not supply answers to any questions for the US market. Why can't I just buy the blocks
Legos still exist.
What this clickbait video doesn't tell you: these are made by a Belgian company, Gablok; and they have absolutely TERRIBLE insulating properties. The R-value is .035. For reference, the R-value of a 1" sheet of rigid foam insulation is ~1.2 (higher is better). Modern best practices for energy-efficient buildings are walls with an R-value of 40 or higher. And that's not even getting into all the complications with electrical and plumbing.
Maybe in time with improvements it would be a great solid buy.
that's the K-value, not the R value. .035K = roughly 22 R value. from their website
@@sandrawilliams5228
It is a bit hard to improve on the wall filled with cracks concept when your entire wall is filled with cracks by design.
Still it's a good idea

If this is a good idea, my question is for what? It is a cool idea, but cool and good are not the same thing.
