Thank you for demonstrating each guns recharge time. That alone answered alot of questions.
This was just what I needed to make my decision. Thanks
Excellent review, comparison, and demo.
Much appreciated.
i loved your video on the cordless nail guns, i am 66 , a woman and was wondering what would be good and how they would sound etc and you showed me all that , i wrote them down..thank you sooooo much
great video with clear explanations!!
Good stuff! Thanks for the info. Exactly the comparison I was looking for.
Excellent review! and info.. nice delivery, informative. Thank you !
I picked up the Ryobi last week for a trim project. it works very well with no jams so far. I have other one plus 18v tools so it was my main consideration when purchasing. i'm very happy with it.
Awesome brother I'm a Ryobi MAN too love the 1 plus system ❤️
Thanks, This is the only review I've seen that discusses the "ramp up" Time. never a necessity, but that feature will be very handy for a very unique application I've got. So that Milwaukee M18 is definitely on my buy list.
I love my Porter Cable!
very valuable comparison, really close look of the tools before buying.
Great review! Thanks!
excellent demo
Wow, all the info I needed in a nice short video!
great review
I have the Ridgid and I highly recommend it! Its a bit heavy but being free from the air line makes it very much worth it! I use it almost daily and often wonder how I did without one.
Still good your ridgid?
I ended up getting a 15g a couple years ago and it is still going strong. One big issue I do find with the ridgid I havent had with things like Dewalt is when the battery charge starts going down, ridgid consistently had proud heads. Seems to be the same issue with their framing nailer as well so I wouldn't be surprised if its the same with the 18g judging by how they set the nails initially. @@tonymontanai9072
This was a fantastic video thanks!
I've had my Milwaukee for about a year now. I've used the crap out of it and it's still awesome. He didn't go over the rapid fire feature which sets it apart from all the others. Just hold the trigger down and it will fire every time the gun is pressed to wood. It will over heat if you use that function a lot but it's only happened to me once and I had to wait about 45 minutes before it would work again. That was after about 50 rapid fire shots.
Thank you so much!!
Very informative!
Own the porter cable...love it never jamed...never a bent nail!
Awesome review!
Excellent video
I have the milwaukee 15 gauge finish nailer, works amazing, no ramp up time and has a rapid fire setting,
Mine 2 years old and still works amazing, I use it a lot
Good to know. Probably going to pick one up in the near future.
Thanks for your info!
Awsome review and great demonstration I was hoping Kobalt would come out with their version but since not I'm going to have to go with another brand and this helped me to make up my mind
PS! I own several Porter cable
Nailers and drills. All good performance for the money.
And This is my first Ryobi tool.
Good job thanks for the video
I have had several of these guns and the senco by far out preformed all of them you can hold at any angle or degree and it will sink the head everytime. some of the others you must hold at a 90 degree angle and flat to the surface which is not real world in construction
when rigid comes out with a 23ga cordless I might think about getting one of these, but I already have all the old style guns, and don't see a need to change right now. maybe if one of them breaks, I will rethink it. But great review and appreciate your effort.
excellent demo. now we can hear the difference and see the delay .tu
Good review
ty for the video
porter cable seems good for DIYs. Also I noticed its the convenient in removing jams
Great review.
My dewalt 18V 18G and senco 18V 15G nailer. Interior machine-dewalt feel soft hammered, sence feel strong (hard) hammered
You forgot that even most pneumatic nailers are smaller and weighs less you also have to drag several meters of hose which adds more weight and also makes gun handling much more clunky.
I've had the ryobi 18g for almost three years and I've used it a lot. it was a great investment and highly recommend.
Thanks Gel, I'm looking to pick one up soon myself for some fun crafts
Same here, I also have the 16g as well. I have used them a lot over the past few years and loved them. However now that milwaukee have these new nailers, and having tested them out, I'm ready to make the switch.
Do you have problems when the tool is cold? I have to constantly have to warm the tool up to get it to drive the brads all the way in.
You must be a ryobe double agent
Must have the only porter cable in England it works great
Very informative.
what brand of nailer I can use my black n Decker 18v battery,I just want to buy bare Brad nailer,thanks...
I put a block of cork under the front of my Ryobi so it stands up without tilting.
Useful review. 👍
I am looking for a gun just for making small boxes and birdhouses. Any suggestions? Nails between 1 and 2 inches. Thanks
geez the Pittsburg and dewalts are massive
what about consecutive fire battery vs air ? do they have a delay ?
That is a great review of all of these brands of nailers. I have the Porter Cable and the Ryobi, Both new, and Im comparing both of these
To see which one I like best. Then take the other one back. Actually I like all of them, but there are tiny differences that will make the difference to me. Thanks for this testing review.
Carol J keep us posted on your thoughts on both. I'm considering both those also.
which one did you keep. I am also considering those 2 and not sure which way to go.
Now after one year of use, which one do you recommend?
I really liked your video, it could help me, I don't know if to buy, the porter cable or the craftsman, are the same or have differences
I was impressed enough to subscribe. Hadn’t heard about ‘ramp up time’. Also, your shop looks like a science lab. I will strive to clean mine better.
With all these reviews I dont see too many people actually showing what the finish nail hole looks like, a very important factor I think!
You’re just gonna fill it anyways who cares
GLYN CURTIS Milwaukee’s makes a biiig ugly hole. When mailed at frickin 90 degrees, thing cans sink worth a damn at any angles
I have two of those dewalts and I can tell u there is no ramp up time especially if you put it in senquencial
which of all make the smaller holes? thx
I got a Ryobi. It fired 6 nails and never worked again. Home Depot replaced it with a Rigid which came cheaper as they threw in a Battery and Charger. Works faultlessly.
You failed to mention the Ridgid has a switch for multi driving and cuts down on ramp up...i own it myself after tossing the Porter Cable and Ryobi..im super happy.
Ryobi has that switch on american market not allowed in Aust.
Very nice video, I'm interested why you didn't talk about the Paslode Brand in your video. Also do you have a detailed video explaining what size brad nails for trim 16g v18g.
I would suggest he wanted to review on battery only tools. Paslode, Grex, Hitachi and Bostitch have gas powered tools, but not electric-only.
Hitachi does now have a battery only series of nailers.
The only one of these that I would find objectionable to use is the DeWalt. Its a shame too, because their tools are usually kick ass.
Must have the only porter cable in England works great
The Ryobi is the one for me.
The recoil to nail again is faster. And the sound of the Ryobi sounds less hollow and plastic. They are both about the same weight.
But the Ryobi felt better in my hand.
Price is comparable, and they
Both had a battery and charger for about 170.00.
The others you have to buy
The batteries and charger separately.
The Ryobi has a setting to make a rapid fire with the trigger pulled and you just bump it down the line.
Good adjustments on Ryobi.
But, do what I did. Get them and try them out for yourself.
It was a quick test actually.
Didn’t take me long to pick the one for me.
@WoodworkersJournal
What nailer do you recommend for a heavy duty framing for 3" nails? Thanks!
Estwing
I love educational T.V.
Thanks for mentioning Milwaukee requires CO2 charge. I did not know. I almost bought it (after seeing CZcams reviews from others, and Milwaukee's rapidness was attractive, but none mentioned about CO2 cartridge!), but bought Ryobi instead for entry level trial.
The milwaukee doesnt use Co2 cartridge, it just uses gas inside of the tool, but its not like Passlode where you need to buy fuel cells, the Milwaukee will run on just the battery :)
Wow the Makita sounds like RoboCop I'll take that one. Don't know how those gas ones would do in the cold weather. But you are totally right who cares about a tiny little delay and who nails that fast unless you're really not being careful and you don't care where the nails are going. And rapid-fire in nailing like that can be very dangerous if another nail goes on top of the other can either break your nail gun or even worse take out an eye
I thought the were gas operated on top of the battery. Probably getting the ryobi. I already have a couple of tools of that brand
💥💥 There must be a big difference in the long lasting durability and reliability between the last two guns and the rest of them. 🤟🏼 I’m a long time Makita loyalist but I’ve heard nothing good about that tool and I have my eye on the Milwaukee 👊🏼
My new Milwaukee 18 brad nailer keeps lacking power to fully drive the nail fully in.
Look like for ryobi and ridgid, new makita
I have an 18 gauge air Brad nailer but I have a hard finding what length of Brad nail I should buy. Can you give me an advise?
It would depend on the thickness of the wood. For my own preference I always go a half to three quarter inch longer than the thickness of the wood if I am also gluing. If I'm not gluing I use a brad at least twice the length of the thickness of wood but I usually always glue too. It works for me but others may have a different opinion.
+Arnold Dixon thanks for the info. I usually work with 3/4 at most. And like you, I use glue as well.
No hitachi brad nailer?
When you transition from pneumatic to battery, any of this guns are a big difference, I personally own the rigid one model 2020 $300 here in canada ,you cant beat rigid life time warranty
Metabo is the best in class, don’t know how it wasn’t on there.
You forgot to put ridgid one to serial shooting mode. Better then others
would like to check can this tool have enough power to drive nail skirting to concrete wall ?
These are not framing nailers, they are for driving small gauge trim brads/pins
No, these are finish nailers used for trim and molding.
Don't buy the Milwaukee one, if run in continuous fire mode after about 100 nails it will switch back to manual mode due to overheating. The Ryobi one is pretty much the best considering it's price
Thanks for that tip...I was unsure about the Milwaukee ($550cad) vs ryobi ($130cad)....but the price is the winning point ...cheers
Good
I had my money on milwaukee👍and senco of course..
SO ttI HAVE 3 BRANDS THEY OWN BEING COMPARED ryobi milwaulkie rigid
Dewalt sounded like a vacuum cleaner
Why didn't have the Metabo ( Hitachi) cordless nailer, the best for my $$!
I don't know where your shopping....but it cost us in canada ...
Metabo nailer 360$ while the ryobi is only $130cad
How I can get it in India
I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great czcams.com/users/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.
Ryobi is the best
Ryobi air strike is not there thats a awesome cordless nailer.
I am getting one for the tires of those i hate.
Milwaukee always sets itself apart
Why didn't you get Dewalts newer nailer instead of their nicad
DeWalt doesn't have a newer 18 gauge cordless nailer. They have a framing nailer, 15 gauge, and 16 gauge, but no brad nailer. That old NiCad is the "newest" one they offer in that gauge.
i think he meant the Dewalt DCN660D1 which is a cordless 16 gauge angled finish nailer, it doesnt seem that it has a ramp up time, i might be mistaken.
+Doresoom Reviews .. Okay, none of the Dewalt nailers are limited to NiCad. Haven't been in years. All of Dewalt's 18v tools, including nailers, accept the DC9182 18v XRP Lithium-Ion battery (or the older DC9180 li-ion, etc).
for the nitrogen powered nailer do u have to refill nitrogen?
Of course. Looks at such nailers on Amazon and you'll usually see links to cartridges elsewhere on the same page.
No, the nailers in this video with nitrogen reservoirs don't need to be refilled. You're thinking of ones that use a fuel cartridge for combustion. These nailers use a motor to re-compress a nitrogen reservoir.
Doresoom Reviews
Urm. I think that the nailers that are re compressed by the motor are filled with normal air(nitrogen can't just too itself up). The nitrogen ones obviously need to be refilled. The Ryobi and Ridged are similar and the same company. Ridgid is AEG her in the uk
Vince no they do not. The gas cylinder is sealed there is no way you could refill it even if you wanted to.
Rigid created biggest holes
Dewalt accutacker
Dewalt has their new 20v out ...
Dont touch ryobi in the UK if your a tradesman,as i found out to my cost because they wont give you a guarantee .and the 5amp batteries cause issues with older tools.
Personally i would not recommend the 18 gauge brad nailer to anyone. Have been using it for 2 months now on crown moulding, base, shoe, etc and unless the head is 100% straight and a lot of pressure being applied to it the nail will not set below the surface. I love milwaukee tools and the 16 guage angled nailer is great but my brad nailer is just awful and will not set the nail. I have ruined many pieces of crown moulding trying to shoot a nail into it like my old dewalt brad nailer did. Don't know why the brad nailer struggles when the 16 guage doesn't.
Justin lawrence mine is the same its crap
jerry o connor n
Justin lawrence have you adjusted the depth? Just asking because default is the most shallow.
Wrong tool for the job. Need to be using a 15ga finish nailer for crown. You could use the brad nailer for quarter round.
The rampup time is your finger not the tools.
but the Milwaukee shutdown or over heats after 130 nails or so in bumpfire mood its really the worst out of all the nailers your demoed in this video
TruthSeeker Ai when you smash it against a board Til it quits, yeah.
Bosch GSK18V-LI 18V ?!!!
Илья Еремин в Америке бош не прежился.почему-то.
the new brushless dewalt is better than allof them
DeWalt doesn't have a new 18 gauge cordless nailer. They have a framing nailer, 15 gauge, and 16 gauge, but no brad nailer. That old NiCad is the "newest" one they offer in that gauge.
Typical comment of Dewalt fanboy doesn't even know what he talks nowonder he buys Dewalt.
+Mr. Wizeguy well Makita and Dewalt are the only brands out there worth a damn anymore
the new dewalt 16g mailer is a piece of crap. very underpowered on hardwoods. stick with the ni-cad model.
DeWalt fanboy detected.
Its a shame the dewalt doesn't have a goddamn 20v version of their brad nailer....
Good grief. A little impatient? Give them time, dude. They're slowly replacing (much to my chagrin) their 18v models with 20v versions. The 18v brad nailers are sure to follow. Rather than continue with more Dewalt, I'm using the opportunity to gradually, as tools wear out, switch brands. Already replaced four tools, with a fifth one pending.
DCN680B
Ron Thunders you do know 20v is the same as 18v right, its a marketing ploy by dewalt, they use max rating of a battery pack everyone else uses nominal.
Buy the Milwaukee or Senco ….saved you 5 minutes
Milwaukee is the best and best looking don't be cheap its worth the money
I'm kind of invested in Dewalt at this point. Don't regret it too much.. but Milwaukee if I were to ever leave Dewalt it would be for them hands down.
Milwaukee is absolutely garbage
Why can't some have a big cyclinder that can be topped up by an air compressor
I guess he does not like craftsman
The ramp up on the DeWalt is a lie! I have used that gun for years, and now use the new 20v version and experience virtually no ramp up
If you watch the video, it fires the gun the moment it's depressed into the wood, as it's supposed to.
