The Last Christmas Gift Opening of Christmas 2020!!!

- We open all of the last of our Christmas gifts before we finally take down the tree. There were so many that we've had to split this gift opening into THREE parts! This is the third and final part!
We have been thoroughly spoilt and you've made us all feel very loved. It's been overwhelming to receive such thoughtful, creative gifts.
In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. CZcams earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:
July 2020:
British Heart Foundation UK (in memory of my father) €634
August 2020:
Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350
September 2020:
Prostate Cancer Foundation (in memory of Selmar's father) €1255
October 2020:
Medecins sans Frontieres (chosen by my mother to support vaccinations in Africa) €942 (equivalent to 426 cholera vaccinations)
November & December 2020:
A Lalande Fashion Scholarship for a student at the Villioti Fashion Institute in South Africa €5500 (€4087 raised so far, the rest will be raised in January and February, and I will make up the difference myself if we fail to hit that target)
I used to show the gifts as part of 'The Chateau Diaries' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us, and that by monetising this channel for charity we can pass on that joy to others 💖💖💖

A warm hearted and loving group of people with the beautiful Stephanie at the helm.
I can't wait to see the little miniature tea house as a work in progress and once finished. Such a fun idea to make the winter months pass by. Thank you to everyone who sent gifts. I wish I were in a position to do such fun things as well but I do get great joy watching them being opened. Thank you also to Stephanie and to all who come and go from La Lande. You all feel like my family and friends and I love you all and wish you only the best.

The trays from Sweden are decorated with paintings of the famous Swedish painter Carl Larsson, he inspired a lot of designers in the beginning of the 20th century with his furniture designs and paintings.
The peacock glasses are really fantastic and the peacock pillows covers are as well. EVERYTHING was but those and the cutting board really took my fancy!
One word describes Lalande and Stephanie that word is Elegance.

Not being nosy but how long ago did u get your transplant? We donated organs (my daughters father) so its something close to my heart.

When you said Merry Christmas to Canada, my roommate was watching this on her laptop and I was in the kitchen cooking and I gleefully chipped in, Yes, Merry Christmas to Canada. Guess where I live. I do love my country, we are not perfect yet this experiment is going well. I also got my roommate addicted to Chateau De La Lande and Doing It Ourselves and we talk about you and how we dream about doing the same, a renovation, but we keep dreaming of the garden renovation and using the land for all the wonderful things that nature provides. Wanted to add in how much joy this brings so many.

you all are so fascinating and fun to watch. in a business sense, I'd take the gossip site as a compliment and ignore it if it's too hard to read the criticisms. the existence of it creates more intrigue as to what will happen next on the channel. Yes, agreed. It's a true shame that people are being nasty somewhere, yet we can only ever trust humans to be humans. And there will ever be a percentage who either can't or won't get out of the gutter. Nothing to be done about it, either life will sort them out or they will live and die their entire lives not seeing a lighter side of life.

Do you recall from a previous video (the first one in which Natti appeared), that Stephanie's 2nd 'love language' is receiving gifts! In other words, it is one of the top three ways she feels other people's love for her or how people can express their love for her. Amazing!
A Tim Tam slam is a traditional Aussie way of eating Tim Tam's, bite the ends off a Tim Tam and use it like a straw to drink (I used to drink Port through them), your favourite beverage, (a coffee liqueur is also very yum), through it!

Stephanie, you mentioned blue gin. Funny story, when I went to London many years ago, we toured the gin museum - and I just had to buy a bottle of the “blue” gin (Bombay, of course). When I got it home and opened it for my gin and tonic, imagine my shock that it wasn’t blue gin at all - but a beautiful blue bottle. I kind of felt bad but appreciated my own private joke to myself. That blue bottle still has a place in my cupboard, if only to remind me that surprises are a gift. Your gift openings always fill me with joy. And I am getting my package of maybe not so spectacular gifts together to mail off to you - this process has been fun for me. Thank you always for sharing your lovely life and the dear people who surround you with love and light. It shines all the way here to Minnesota! ❤️
Lol! I married into a Dutch family. I once mispronounced Gouda and was promptly told off/corrected. I found it hilarious! So Philip correcting Stephanie gave me a good chuckle!

Miss Pink - what a 'cack'. I could see Stephanie struggling before she said the word and I knew it was not her reading ability. Then out it came 'grouse'! So funny fellow Aussie! Isn't funny how some words find their way into certain cultures and remain totally free from others.
Cack in British English means 'dung', to put it politely, from Latin 'cacare' (to poop), rather than being an abbreviation of cackle.
@@cleverclogs2244 In Oz we take it as 'cackle'. I had never heard it used as dung! I am a great reader and an English teacher so normally I have an extensive vocabulary. But you are one up on me there. Thanks for telling me, I will ask the kids at school if any of them have used it as 'dung'. Even moving between states in Australia can have different meanings for different words. Thanks very much.

However, I know that I have met with people from WA before and have whiled away a few hours over a glass of wine -swapping colloquialisms. I have never been to WA but just before covid a friend had suggested we go to Perth together for a girls holiday. I am definitely going to get there one of these days. Are you in Aussie still or somewhere else?
@@lianegordon971 I've been mainly in the UK since I was 6 - I still miss the wildlife tho - my tiny town in Oz had limited opportunities for adults, but it was idyllic for kids - I never wore shoes - I loved walking barefoot through warm puddles on the way home from school - I've just realised I don't even own a pair now! I have boots or trainers. 🤣

Glog: My granddaughter brought me bottles of glog from her trips to Germany and also many packets of spices to make heated glog. Yummmy! Now I need some fantastic mugs.
Such fun as always! The depictions on the trays from Sweden are works by the artist Carl Larsson born in the mid nineteenth century at Stockholm.
Carl Larsson is one of my favorite artists! If any of you ever have a chance to visit Sweden, his amazing home in Sundborn is open to the public and filled with the original furniture and art. His family still owns the property and staffs the tours. His great great granddaughter Maria was my tour guide🤗

Has been such a fabulous Christmas Chateau Unwrapped! Such fun and gorgeous. Will be sad to see the tree go ...
