The Last of the Christmas Gifts Part 2!!!

- We open all of the last of our Christmas gifts before we finally take down the tree. There were so many that we've had to split this gift opening into THREE parts! This is Part 2!
We have been thoroughly spoilt and you've made us all feel very loved. It's been overwhelming to receive such thoughtful, creative gifts.
In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. CZcams earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:
July 2020:
British Heart Foundation UK (in memory of my father) €634
August 2020:
Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350
September 2020:
Prostate Cancer Foundation (in memory of Selmar's father) €1255
October 2020:
Medecins sans Frontieres (chosen by my mother to support vaccinations in Africa) €942 (equivalent to 426 cholera vaccinations)
November & December 2020:
A Lalande Fashion Scholarship for a student at the Villioti Fashion Institute in South Africa €5500 (€4087 raised so far, the rest will be raised in January and February, and I will make up the difference myself if we fail to hit that target)
I used to show the gifts as part of 'The Chateau Diaries' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us, and that by monetising this channel for charity we can pass on that joy to others 💖💖💖

I tripped across the site several weeks ago and the thing I carried away with me was how many of the comments reeked of ENVY and JEALOUSLY even SPITE. Many of the comments were hateful and I can see that if one is in a kind of fragile state they would be devastating to read. And once read, they can't be unread. I expect that anyone with a successful youtube channel - or anyone who is successful at all - suffers from this kind of thing. Michael and Stephanie bring so much joy I hope they can learn to ignore this type of thing and continue as they are.
The final gift from mary -- 47 gifts? -- a personal reflection of everybody in the house this year -- well that is epic. It's up there in fantasyland and so expressive and loving.

How I laughed at those very imaginative decorations! They were superb! Having just come from Michael’s channel and heard about the dreadful things that have been going on to you too, Stephanie, I just want to say that you have the right attitude - you need to rise above these trolls and you do just that. You lift our spirits immensely in these dark times, so thank you to you and all the lovely LaLanders from the bottom of my heart.
The thoughtfulness of these gifts never ceases to amaze me. How lovely people can be.

The time, effort and thoughtfulness that goes into these gifts, especially's today ornaments of LaLande 2020 is mind-blowing and shows how much you and LaLanders mean to everyone.
Today it came to my thoughts that your vlogs are more interesting and enjoyable than the two streaming services I'm using. I feel like all of you and the other Chateau vloggers are real friends. Viewers love you and you deserve to be complimented on your hard work and gracious manner. Always, thank you, from the USA.
Those ornaments were absolutely awesome, but the letter accompanying them was also pretty great as well.
A white or heavily flock tree for next year would really show the beautiful peacocks off. Enjoyed all the gifts.

Just when I got all sad about Christmas at LaLande finally being over, Stephanie announces there will be another Christmas themed gift opening! Happy, happy! Joy, joy! Not only were Mary’s 47 personalized ornaments brilliant beyond belief, they will be a 3 D diary of 2020 and all the lovely people and animals that helped us all survive this “interesting” year.
Wow, the way the ornaments keep rolling in there is going to have to be a tree in every room of the chateau next season! What a cleaver idea and well executed...47 amazing, one of a kind ornaments. Bravo!

How much thought that went into making these 40 ornaments, I think I got as much enjoyment out of these as you guys did...

Seriously!!!! This was soooo fun!!!! There are so many creative people out there. I especially loved the 47 ornaments. I don’t know how this person came up with this. They were fabulous!!! Stephanie....you should put all of these ornaments on their own Christmas tree and then make ornaments of people that come to work at LaLande. What a great memory to have!

@ Karen Powell yes, Michael has an old phone that looks somewhat similar to this one, that uses "to call" "Madam Mystery" (Stephanie) in a few skits he did on his vlog earlier last year. The one most pple remember is the one where she says "toodlepip" lol.

Such fun to see the cleverness of all the ornaments -- I am watching this as I drink my morning tea and I have laughed and smiled along with all of you (your smiles were catching!). My day will be brightened as I go about my chores. The cookbooks are an amazing find at the thrift store! One of my favorite cookbooks is "Culinary France" (2004 Koneman -- large coffee table book, blue cover with a stately white chicken on the front) and I did find it at a discount book store! I have just introduced your you tube channel to a couple of friends -- they will be busy for the rest of the winter as I suggested they start at the very beginning and watch them all!

The cloth wrapping is bandanna’s. You can wear as head covering or round neck or maybe even a mask.
Or as napkins. Because La Lande has a dearth of napkins, lol.
I love giving art and art related stuff as gifts...
Put a coat of acrylic on your glass ornaments...if they break they will stay of a piece for easy cleanup!

Castle Garth means the garden of the castle and is the name of our house from 1928 - there are lots of castle references where we live but no actual castle unfortunately - I own and run a hotel for guinea pigs and other small pets 🐹🐭🐰🐻❄️🐶

Stephanie, if you ever visit the Biltmore! Do it over three days and do the main house tour, then the upstairs/downstairs tour then the land tour. So worth it. Save your money. The Biltmore tours are expensive, but if you do a package deal it is a little cheaper. Read up on the history. My Daughter lives about two hours from Asheville, NC so we have been several times. There are other beautiful things to see downtown Asheville such as the Basilica that was built by the Catholic tradesman that built Biltmore. So gorgeous! Don’t do the tour during the American summers. No Air Conditioning in the house. Ugh! Fall after Thanksgiving it is decorated for Christmas! Early Spring the gardens are amazing!

Those fabrics are bandana you wear around your neck . I use them as napkins . I use bright colors for spring or summer and the orange and yellow and brown for fall and the red and green and white for Christmas .
You just lay three on top of each other and slid a napkin ring around them and they are gorgeous . God bless each one of you ❤️🙏🏻

würstel im schlafrock (sausage in a nightgown) what we have in Österreich and Deutschland! it is made of frankfurter/wiener würstel wrapped in puff pastry dough and baked. great party food. that is the inspiration for the dog snack.
In the USA we call them “pigs in a blanket!”

Enjoyed the 47 ornaments so much ,great creativity. Noted Stephanie needed the hot water bottle. Can someone please send her and Nati some thermal underwear preferably silk that can be worn without being obvious. I have learnt through years of attending football matches that the key is several thin layers.
Stephanie needed to put more clothes on. Phillip should have brought her a sweater in lieu of a hot water bottle!!!
