- Mount Olympus is the largest amusement park in the Wisconsin Dells. This unique park features both indoor and outdoor sections for both the water park and theme park. You have a bevy of go-kart tracks and water slides plus 4 wooden roller coasters. And it may be the cheapest theme park in America!

Seems like a park that’s just lacking some heart and soul, like the people running it aren’t putting in the right kinda effort, which I would imagine would be more profitable for them and also better for guests. I’d rather have a park cost more and put that money back into the quality of the park.
That's fair.
I stopped at the park while on a road trip and only had a few hours on a summer Saturday morning. I was amused by the whole spectacle and enjoyed all 4 rides and the sky screamer, but yeah, the place is pretty questionable in terms of safety and standards. Very memorable, cautiously recommended.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow I didn't realize those go-kart tracks were that innovative! I was always mesmerized by them passing by and they're definitely some great tracks.
Mt. Olympus could do with some competition in terms of an amusement park - they already settle for having a good but not great water park, but they're the best option for amusement in the area despite their flaws, so having another park with coasters open not too far away might spur them to invest more in polishing the park off - though I doubt those $5 tickets would last long if that were to happen.
Multi-level go kart tracks really are eye-catching.
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
You're welcome!
I've been there 3 times over the past 2 years and LOVE it. The 3 smaller coasters are very fun. Hades sucks. Way too much vibration.
The new slide wheel, Medusa, is AWESOME! Capacity is surprisingly good. 5 or 6 tubes are in the slide at one time.
On Thurs, June 2022, we paid $140 for a very clean room with 3 beds. 4 of us received free admission and parking. Admission is now $20.
PS. Hades being closed is not a bad thing due to the Timberliners. I bet PTC's would be good.
As far as safety goes, a schoolteacher jumped a fence and was killed by a roller coaster at Cedar Point.
That's good Medusa has better than expected capacity.
Well to be fair they jumped a fence, they didn't reach their hand out too far, also I think timberliners help with the roughness.
My personal opinion about this park is to stay away from it. Safety was absolutely atrocious when I went about half a decade ago. This noted were the generally uncaring ride ops, (caught them walking over station track while the ride was out on the course several time) uncaring management when I voiced my concerns they just blew me off, and at one point finding maintenance entering a low point of one of the coaster while it was in mid cycle just to get to the other side slightly faster . That last example for me was the straw that broke the camel's back. I worry for the guest and employees that there is a going to be a large disaster with possibly multiple fatalities, or multiple fatal accidents due to their apathy towards safety.
I will probably never go back as long as this park continues to be operated as it currently is and I've seen no reason as to believe they have changed since then. This park is just one bad day away from an atrocity due to the lack respect for safety.
Safety should always be number one for anyone who runs an amusement park.
Long Explanation Over
I've seen them cross the track without signaling as well.
I feel like Wisconsin is just home to cheap roller coasters/theme parks! It’s nice
It's crazy Little Amerricka may be the state's most expensive park when it's still pretty cheap.
I haven’t been here yet but I look forward to visiting someday during a Midwest road-trip.
Enjoy!
Mt. Olympus needs better safety precautions. I’ve been to the park 4 times, each stay being about three days, so i know every inch of the park.
Cyclops needs to be inspected… bad. I see hanging structural boards only attached by one end, loose nails all along the station tracks (which probably means the rest of the tracks probably have loose nails too), and it’s pretty scary seeing that, knowing that definitely isn’t right.
The fences are NOT secure enough… like you said, some careless person could just reach through the fence while the train is speeding by and have their hand whacked off.
Just Like you said, Hades needs retracked. There’s one moment when you’re reaching the end of the tunnel to come out into the corkscrew, and it just plain hurt. Still probably my favorite roller coaster I’ve ridden, but either way it needs some work done to it to ensure the comfort and safety of *all* the riders.
I like this park, it has a deep place in my heart as the home of my favorite roller coaster and my first ever coaster (Pegasus), but that can’t blind me from how cheap and lazy the park really is. It saddens me to see the owners don’t seem to care enough to make sure that everyone is safe.
Dang this is a long comment
I heard some of the fences were extended this year.
Calypso water park in Ottawa, Ontario also has one of the wave pools with a 9 foot wave
Awesome!
One time the internet went out when we were trying to go home so we couldn’t use maps 😭 then we found our way home
Glad you did!
Been here before & will be going back again next month. Will be my first visit to the water park. Curious how Cyclops rides now with the retrack. First visit wasn’t that great since Hades & Zeus were closed. Second visit was better since Hades was open. Hades rules despite its roughness.
Cyclops wasn't even that rough when I rode it in 2019. I'm surprised they'd retrack that before Hades.
11:30 That waterpark, in 2019, was only available to resort guests, and the pandemic has messed up their groove with that, so I'm not sure about the future there. Those slides were a lot of fun, and with short lines, I rode all of them several times. I greatly preferred that section to the main outdoor or indoor waterparks, although Poseidon's Rage was still my favorite water attraction.
I paid $85 in total for a budget room, but they did upgrade me to a suite. In that year, the park would close at 7pm, but resort guests got to stay until 10pm, during which they provided food. Also, Hades 360, Zeus, Pegasus, and the indoor waterpark were open on my night. All that, plus free parking & admission for everyone in the room on both the check-in & check-out days, and every day inbetween. It was a fantastic experience! I felt bad about not staying for the entire day on my check-out day. Online admission was $20 when I checked a month before my visit, but the resort room was a no-brainer.
That sounds like awesome perks! How was the room itself?
@@CanobieCoaster It was a great room, clean, no funky smells, no bugs, comfortable bed. It was Building 17, which is now listed as Delton Suites on google maps. I was in the back building, so no traffic noise. There is a 2-year gap in the reviews, which must be when Mt Olympus owned it, and they may have done a better job at taking care of it. It does sound like they still haven't brought back all those resort guest perks, and who knows if they ever will.
Everyone would check in at the main building north of the park, next to Burger King. If you booked a budget room, you don't know what building you'll be in until you get checked in. It was 10am, and I was given room keys, but was instructed to not go to the room until I get a text that it's ready. I was also given the wristband, which was my parking & admission pass.
Bro I’m pretty sure this part of the water park just permanently closed and turned into a parking lot 😔
that looks fun!
It is.
so one small thing is the slide wheel is going to be called Medusa, otherwise you nailed Mt Olympus. i love that you included Hades famous gum tree and you gave it a very fair review. for anyone that plans to stay at the resort, i would prolly pass on anything but Hotel Rome unless you don't care about sleeping comfort. MTO literally went around for a decade buying 1 star hotels slashing the prices to bargain basement prices and buying the competing 1 star hotel when they went bankrupt. seems like they ran out of hotels to buy around 2018 and that's when they started the weekend surge pricing. you are paying about 80% of the Fairfield, Hilton, and La Quinta and getting a 1980s era mattress box spring and no headboards because they are painted on. they also have terrible sealing doors with thin walls so you will hear everything.
I updated the part where I had the wrong slide name. Thanks for the details on their hotels.
Its def worth visiting for the Zeus and hades roller coaster and Poseidon rage wave pool alone
It's a fun park.
I went on hades and I had so much room on the lap bar but they lock the restraints to early so I had a scary amount of airtime and when I ask a employee they pushed it down but it didn’t move because it was locked and she just proceeded to send the train.
Wow!
This park was liberally my childhood. I started going around 2013 when I was 6, but I haven't been back since 2019. I'm coming back this year and am so pumped, but a little sad to hear about the back water slides not being opened :( kinda an unpopular opinion but I loved that area of the water park
At least they have that cool new slide wheel opening.
Oh no I am absolutely with you. That was hands down my favorite part of the park. I was devastated to here my favorite slides, demons drop and dragons tail that is, were removed for more parking lot. I'm going to Noah's ark now. Too many sad feelings.
Dumb libberal
Seems a little too negative. I've been there multiple times since i grew up in Wisconsin. The first turn on Hades after the 2nd tunnel is definitely extremely rough. But I never once thought the park seemed unsafe. I doubt anyone would reach their hand into the ride. Would be cool if they added a steel roller coaster or RMC but I doubt it would ever happen
I enjoy the park, but there are flaws.
Can't say it's on my bucket list, but I'll still be happy if I get to go. It's one of those mid looking places lol
It's unique.
Anyone know if there’s cheaper tickets around the dells for this place than the $25 online price ?
I have gotten $5-$10 on their website before.
@@CanobieCoaster go to Sauk City Community Center on Monroe St . In the office they are $10 each.
Mt. Olympus is getting the 1st rotating water slide in America hopefully they retract Hades 360 so you can ride it more then once lol
That slide wheel looks cool.
What means "polarizing"?
Controversial. Some like it, some hate it.
Going this summer actually
Enjoy!
Honestly, might be a good idea to keep Pegasus around since it sounds like the closest we will to a wooden wild mouse in the entire western hemisphere. The 3 remaining actual wooden wild mice are among the farthest from here in Europe (you can thank Blackpool Pleasure Beach), and Indonesia and Australia aren't exactly close to America either, so you may want to be careful about what you wish for next time you want to advocate for a Gravity Group Family to replace Pegasus.
BPB wild mouse is long demolished....
I would think Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain at Indiana Beach is probably the closest thing to a wooden wild mouse in America.
I find Pegasus somewhat fun myself.
It's really stupid fun.
I would prefer Gravity Group replace Hades with anything not using Timberliners.
i will always love mt. Olympus even how bad it gets because its my first waterpark/ roller coaster rides lol
Nostalgia is powerful.
The legend at Holiday World right before you go into the station, you can touch the track.
I don't recommend doing that.
I can see why it's so cheap to visit. I am heading there next month but all ready it looks like this place was better when I first visited in 2008.
I think the family needs to sell the park to new operators and then they should add new slides to the back of the park where the old water slides used to be (they're all gone now), they need to add something new to the indoor theme park, they need something new and exciting for the outdoor theme park, they need to reopen the elevated tracks for the go-karts (unless they're back open again because I heard they were all closed at one point ) and of course retrack whatever wooden coasters are still rough. And also open the indoor water and theme parks year round. The schedule online said they were open from mid September to mid May which doesn't make sense with Medusa's Slidewheel right around the corner.
Medusa should boost the indoor lineup considerably. I wish they did something with that lower water park too.
I’ve actually never had a busy experience there. There has always been like 3 people in each line
Have you had an issue riding Hades then?
@@CanobieCoaster yea definitely had to wait a few times
So how u get the tickets so cheap
I just went on their website.
@@CanobieCoaster lookin like 25 not 5 but thatsstill super cheap pretty Cool
So this is a cheap water park !! Any suggestions for the best water park in Wisconsin?
Noah's Ark is the best one, but it can understandably get packed.
I visited the website and saw a special where tickets are a mere 3 dollars. That is less than a gallon of gas.
That's about right for this park.
Mt. Olympus Needs Steel coasters. they need to get rid of their 2 wooden coasters and replace them with big steel ones, like a Chance Morgan Hyper Coaster and Maybe a Launch coaster.
but not just coasters, but flat rides like an S&S Double or Triple Tower, maybe a Multi Tower like Cedar Point's Power Tower. Mt. Olympus Needs 2 big Steel Coasters and few more big rides.
I'd welcome some flats and a good steel coaster.
I'm here actually currently (from out of state) and it isn't so bad so far but I dislike how people can't stop the go karts
Oh no!
I spent a few hours at conneaut lake park and that day pass was 5 dollars on a Sunday lol
I went on an expensive day and had to pay $10 at Conneaut.
I’m going with my school we get the whole park to do stuff in and I have about 6 hours if your able to can you give me some stuff to do
I'd prioritize the wood coasters.
Ight
This park may be the sketchiest par... oh, sorry, sketchiest place anywhere to go. The fact that it's common to see a coaster bolt or cracked wood plank in the middle path just shows how sketchy this place is and honestly I love it. It's like this park doesn't follow any of the laws and requirements to be a safe park but its right on the edge of still being safe. From the chain on Hades thats missing a pully so its just dangling to the bolt I could easily un loosen on Zeuses train. But another thing from my experience was how the ride ops seemed to be to dangerous with what they did. I saw a ride op for Hades and when the train left, she not only was on her phone, she went and literally sat down on the track and was on her phone cause she had nowhere to sit. Then when the train pulled up to the station, she moved at the last 2 seconds and considering how fast the train comes in and how close she was, she could of easily gotten hit if she tripped. I do also love how you can ride everything shirtless and in your swim suit. I do enjoy the park overall though.
I do remember seeing lots of employees liberally crossing the track.
I go there every year and my mom got hurt by driving the car racing thing
Oh no!
When is the $5 price happening 2023?
Not sure. Keep checking online to see if you get a cheap deal.
@@CanobieCoaster So don't work for them/own this park?? What clickbait🙄😒
@@CanobieCoaster You should at least be able to give me a discount/refund for my troybles
I'd visit again if they rebuilt demons drop and dragons tail. If anything they should've kept the two modern looking stunning rides. Too sad for me to go now.
Were those in the old water park?
@@CanobieCoaster Yes, they were originally part of the family land waterpark but then became part of Mt. Olympus for years and they took great care of them and they were very fun.
Only go here for the wooden coasters that the only reson I will visit
Understandable.
Flawed, what means?
Imperfect
The reason that other side of the park is closed is because a couple of years ago a teen snuck in during the winter with a sled and went down the drop slide but fell to his death
That's awful!
lol thank you for the "Big Chief" history. im glad they changed the theme to something within their culture!! def gonna grab a gyro while there
You're welcome!
The action park of the Midwest.
Pretty much!
Bay Beach Theme Park Is Probably The Cheapest
Theme Park In Wisconsin
Per ride yes, but you can get an all-day ticket here for how much it costs to ride Zippin Pippin 5 times.
I always say that the dells is more for water parks.
Fair.
and it's fun
Hades really looks like it needs to be converted to a hybrid coaster instead, it just seems like they kind of found or passed the limit of what a regular wood coaster is really capable of. The indoor "theme park" just looks depressing, and the hotel rooms have the worst reviews of literally any hotel I've ever seen. Overall this place seems mostly terrible, with just a few bright spots
I would support steel track going on this.
5 dollars for a full on themepark and waterpark, wow that's crazy!
The safety also is something that does feel save imo, but is just something guests will ruin
It's a real deal.
Worst park I’ve ever visited.
Nobody was manning the parking area, and the website said nothing about parking so we just drove on up. The entrance had no employees anywhere and we were able to walk up to Zeus before realizing we needed to exit to pick up our wrist bands. Then after riding Zeus and Pegasus it started sprinkling (it really wasn’t even raining that hard) and they closed all the rides.
We left and came back the next day, again double checking the website to see if it mentioned parking. It didn’t. But we got to the kiosk and it’s $40. Ridiculous. I asked the attendant a few questions and all she said was “$40”. Trash customer service. I got fed up and left without ever queuing for Hades.
In general the park was tacky, ill kept, and felt every bit the tourist trap. Other parks in similar tourist trap towns (like Silver Dollar City) go out of their way to provide a great experience and you feel like you made a good investment. Mount Olympus felt like a shakedown. I don’t plan on ever going back here. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a park. I don’t need the Hades credit that badly.
Yikes, I've seen some questionable things there, but I've never had an experience that poor.
As of 2024 the parking is now $40
Ouch that is steep.
FENIX IS THE WORLDS BEST WING COASTER
has nothing to do with the vid lol, just felt like sharing my dumb opinion here XD
It's a good one.
My home park, unless you count little americkka, lol
Nice!
This place provided the worst park experience I've ever had sadly back in 2014. Haven't been back since.
Oh no! Bad operations?
23 seconds
Don't see anything weird at that time.
@@CanobieCoaster I have notifications on
?
So many things they do are outrageously idiotic. Meanwhile, nobody there seems to notice any of it. Nothing’s apparently wrong in their eyes with having ride operators from Europe who can’t speak English and having one train operations with 5 min dispatches.
The operators all spoke English when I visited. The one train operations are definitely annoying on a ride as long as Hades though.
@@CanobieCoaster that was the case a few years ago when I went.
Nah, Bay Beach Green Bay Wi is probably the cheapest. Lol
That may be the best value for a pay per ride park, but this has stupid cheap wristbands/all day passes.
