      The problem is USA's name is too generic. Kind vague. No offenses though😅 They call it this way because they wouldn't predict that other colonies would want to be free from their colononizers, I guess. It was the first nation to do that, they were located in the continent of America, they'll adopt the organization of states instead of provinces and they'll united in this new kind of state, so United States of America. 🤷‍♂️

    The thing about leaving the parent's home, in Brazil at least, is that the majority of young adults would love to get out of their parent's house, but it is EXPENSIVE, for the majority of brazilians it is not a choice, and if you really want to get out you will have a really hard life, will pay a lot to live in really cheap house located at not that safe and cool neighbourhoods.

Im in south (SC), where im from, is kinda great to leave the house... u can have stability in safer neighbourhoods, and normally the houses are kinda good, even if is a little bit more expansive, normally people can make money to pay... or, if u dont have that amount of cash, u can still find great places. But i agree with u in the part where is hard to leave the parents house. Cuz honestly, is better, if u work, u can come back from the work, tired, and have someone to help u out, with food, clean stuff and etc...

    Chile and Argentina are a big no in all of these stereotypes. I don’t know why the girl kept silent instead of saying something!
    - We don’t dress using colours. if you ever visit Argentina, we are known for using neutral and a lot of dark clothes. Black is definitely the most common colour choice. We are known abroad for wearing “too much black clothes”.
    - Argentina is one of the only countries that doesn’t have tropical climate zones or areas. Only subtropical in the very far north, therefore wind and colder temperatures make us wear less colorful and extravagant in clothes. Dark clothes, jeans, hoodies/jackets are better during winter and rainy days.
    - We don’t wear too much makeup. it’s common for women to be as natural as possible and to appreciate natural beauty, and we follow European standards and modeling coops.
    - Men do kiss and hug each other as a way of greeting.
    - Many people don't kiss because they don’t like it, and it's fine. It’s acceptable to greet from a distance or a handshake too. Especially in formal occasions or to older people.
    - Nobody dances salsa. Cumbia and Electronic music mixes if you go out to clubs, even pop, trending music, Tango or traditional dances are way more popular and associated with Argentina.
    - Parents don't kick you out of home, and it's more common for many to live with their parents until they're older, even past their 20s. Buying a house or becoming independent isn't easy in Argentina. Only those with money do it, often because they're going away for university studies. But if you have a couple, you both go together to live independently.
    - Argentinian families are not that big, and we have a low fertility rate. The country is worldwide considered “unpopulated”. We don’t have that many kids or siblings we don’t have the money to support that, and that’s a Native American or Spanish custom, and often associated with the poor. Not Italian, not Argentinean. But family culture is indeed important, and that’s definitely the root of our Italian culture. The Spanish had “big families” whereas the Italians had “United families”. It’s not the same. We are definitely more close and united families by bond rather than big.
    - We don’t call people we don’t know aunts, uncles, or cousins. That’s definitely weird.
    - Football is important, and that’s not Latin culture, it’s Anglo. And the first clubs and associations started in Argentina and the U.S. That was during the British Invasions in 1806 and 1807 when many immigrants from the U.K came, and even the rules and clubs are in English language. The other countries just got the cultural heritage from Argentina.
    - Being too late is not “standard”. It’s considered rude, but being a few minutes late is acceptable. It does happen in Argentina but everyone considers it’s better to respect time.
    And I can continue..

      coincido con muchos puntos pero también es todo SUPER general, xq de cada familia un mundo. conozco familias enormes como pequeñas. lo de llamar "tío" de cariño a algún amigo cercano de tus padres tmb es bastante común ¿ más quizá no todo el mundo lo hace, qcy son estereotipos muy general todos. y el futbol si es un invento anglo más la pasión exagerada caracteristica de acá si es en algún aspecto cultural

    • @Ddpresident
      @Ddpresident Před 53 minutami

      @@milurosales6374 Si, existen algunos casos, pero me refiero a que en Argentina no es el concepto de familia común. La gran mayoría de familias que uno conoce tiene 2 o 3 hijos, no 10 hijos. No es el estereotipo común en Argentina. Somos el país con menos población en la región, con más familias en promedio de hijos únicos especialmente concentrado en la capital, y con la tasa de fertilidad más baja, venimos en caída, con una tasa de fecundidad que era 1.3% en 2020. La más baja de la región. Si te fijás las estadísticas nacionales del país e internacionales, acá se considera que las familias numerosas están asociadas con los estratos más bajos del país, donde se da principalmente en las villas, el 51% que las habitan son de origen extranjero, boliviano mayoritariamente y Bolivia es el país del continente con mayor tasa de fertilidad (las mujeres en Bolivia tienen en promedio 7 hijos por mujer en 1975 y de 4 a 5 hijos en promedio actual año 2024) y también se concentra en la región de el NOA Argentino. Se da mayormente en las comunidades originarias/locales, en las comunidades españolas en esa región era considerado una “antigua herencia colonial”. Se considera una tradición o costumbre antigua, que las familias puedan tener muchos hijos o sean familias numerosas. Las familias argentinas no tienen en promedio 10 hijos, tienen 2 o 3. El número común de hijos en Argentina según estudios es solamente de 2 por mujer. Hoy los jóvenes no se casan, y no tienen hijos, muchos por decisión propia. Ni tampoco tienen hijos de jóvenes. Hoy muchas parejas que superan los 20, no están casados y esperan a tener hijos pasando los 30, teniendo estabilidad, trabajo, alquiler o un lugar donde vivir.
      Somos el país de habla español más grande de la región y tenemos solamente 45 millones de habitantes, una cifra que hace años se podría decir que está estancada, el resto de países de la región son mucho más chicos, algunos tienen el tamaño de algunas provincias y nos duplican o triplican la cifra. Tenemos una cifra que no crece hace tiempo. Argentina es además uno de los países más grandes del mundo y menos poblados. Tenemos mitad del territorio despoblado, toda la Pampa, Patagonia y una población concentrada en la capital. La gran mayoría de mujeres que tienen hijos en Argentina, son de origen extranjero, especialmente boliviano, esto hizo saltar la cifra de 20% mestizos (mayor origen aymara o andino en el censo) a 56%, en los censos de los últimos 10 años, debido a la prestación en salud de los hospitales públicos y la ayuda beneficiaria que prestaba el país, es un número que ahora empezó a caer tras las prohibiciones de atención médica gratuita en el NOA. El mundo en general nos supera en términos de población. Yo no lo veo como algo negativo y me parece mejor que no exista la sobrepoblación, pero considero que las familias Argentinas locales deberían en promedio tener más hijos o superar a los nacidos foráneos. No ayuda tampoco el éxodo masivo de familias argentinas al extranjero. Mitad del país, no tiene grandes familias, tener un hijo es costoso y es difícil mantener una familia grande hoy. Por eso creo que además de todo estos estudios o estereotipos, las familias argentinas son en general más unidas, y eso puede hacerlas parecer grandes, pero no son familias numerosas o de en primera línea tener muchos hijos como pasa en el resto de los países que se considera algo normal. Nuestro estereotipo es totalmente lo opuesto. Tampoco significa que no existan casos o casos aislados, las estadísticas o estereotipos siempre se basan en “una mayoría”.
      Lo de decirle tío a otras personas, no lo voy a negar, lo escuché una sola vez en mi vida. No es común tampoco en todo el país. Nadie va escuchando al resto decirle tío a la gente. Me parece algo más que se escucha entre hombres mayores, que son amigos muy cercanos. En países como Colombia o México, lo usan en sentido de lo que acá decimos “flaco” o “tipo”, se lo dicen entre amigos, incluso con gente que no conocen, o gente mayor le dicen “venga mi tio, yo le ayudo a cruzar la calle” o “venga tome asiento mi tío”. Nosotros no tenemos tanto esos conceptos de llamar como a la familia a gente rándom de la calle. Al menos en Argentina, incluso a nuestros amigos no les decimos “tíos/tías” y lo asociamos directamente como una expresión de ciudadanos de España.
      Son simples apreciaciones. Siempre hay casos aislados, como en todo el mundo, pero como son estereotipos, por lo general siempre están dados por estadísticas y por la cultura general, donde se toma “a una mayoría”. Tomando a la mayoría argentina, nosotros tenemos en muchos sentidos conceptos opuestos, y le pasa también a Chile y a Uruguay, yo siento que nos parecemos más a ellos y al conosur, que a las costumbres de países del Caribe, de la comunidad Andina o del Ecuador. Eso no significa que no existan casos aislados. En Argentina como en todo el mundo siempre puede haber una excepción a la regla.

    In Brazil there is a law on child aggression, it has been a crime for a few years. I think it's sad that there has to be a law to show people that attacking a child is the same as attacking an adult, it's aggression, and abuse, is a human. Many people still have violent attitudes towards flip-flops, belts, etc., but it is decreasing and becoming less and less tolerable. Generally, those who still tolerate and practice it are people who were attacked in this way in childhood, are traumatized and don't know it, and think it's not a problem. Of course there is a lot of humor around this subject, but it is something very serious and needs to end.

    Once again, I find it puzzling how some titles can perpetuate misconceptions. World Friends, Have you ever considered the possibility that Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Brazil and so many other countries are also part of America? Therefore, labeling people from these countries as "Latin girls" is somewhat wrong they should be recognize as AMERICANS. Referring to the region as "Latin America" makes no sense at all. Firstly, "Latin" refers to a language, not a race. By this logic, inhabitants of the United States and parts of Canada would be labeled as "Anglo-Americans," while Quebec would fall under "Latin-America" category due to its French-speaking population. Moreover, countries in America where Dutch or other languages are spoken also challenge this simplistic classification. Why do people assume that everything "under" USA is just "Latins"? Even within Spanish-speaking countries like Uruguay and Argentina, there are significant cultural, musical, behaviour, etc. differences. It's unfair to lump them all together simply because they share a common language. It's important for people, especially those from the United States, to improve their geography skills and recognize the diversity within the America. Confusing race with language and continent with only 1 country leads to prejudice and oversimplification. I believe this oversight may also affect people from India. When people refer to "Asian countries," they often overlook India, which is also part of Asia. The feeling of not being recognized as part of one's own continent can be frustrating. Imagine if only Italy were considered Europeans, while the rest of the continent were labeled "euro-something" - it just doesn't make any sense at all! AMERICA IS A CONTINENT, and everyone born in ANY COUNTRY IN AMERICA ARE AMERICANS.

      Calm down bro, they already had done a video which they call them Americans. It is much easier to define Latin America, since there are some important differences to Canada and USA. And in geography, Québec counts as Anglo-Saxon America for the same reason as the Guiana's countries do not count as part of Latin American, but as a Caribbean country. If you just consider the language as Latin root or geography, you will lose the cultural approach from these countries.

      All would be easy if we name ourselves as the truth...
      People from any country of Asia it’s called Asian, the same in Africa, Europe and Oceania. Sadly in our continent we can’t just be called Americans, cause the US make themselves the title of Americans, and so, the rest of the continents would only see them as such.
      The whole thing about North-America and South-America is stupid, cause that happened in all the continents. Like, doesn’t matter if you are from Japan or India, you still be called as Asian, nor if you’re from Portugal or Norway, you sill European. Even though, Central-America it’s a thing, but none count them if you still wanted to separate north to south as a different continents.
      We are not the Americas, we are from America as one, from Canada to Tierra del Fuego. Latin-America and Hispanic-America it’s a wrong word to be separate and mentioned, just Americans would do thing easier and united. It’s like a joke I’ve hear:
      "You know the avengers, each of them are in the organization, but what if one of them decides to called themselves as “The Avanger” like, they’re all avengers?"

    As a Chilean, I agree with most of what the Chilean girl said. This happens too with countries like Argentina and Uruguay due to larger European migration to these countries; nothing wrong with it, and it doesn't have to be something "good", it's just natural due to historical factors. I will say that the "being late" part does happen a lot in Chile, and not only from my experience.

    people keep talking like: “we are not Latinos”, “Latin America doesn’t exist”. BORING. That’s not only about history, that’s about a political and cultural identity. Recognize yourself as a Latino is assume your culture. A culture that for centuries has been minimized by the europeans. Our land was stolen and exploited and we keep dealing with the consequences of all the depredation. So, the way how we are loud, warm and happy it’s just a way of resistance beyond so much suffering along the time

    • @chrispresta3048
      @chrispresta3048 Před 20 dny +5

      You're talking about native indigenous people, not "latinos". It was their lands and their cultures that were affected and minimised (though not deleted) by foreigners as it's always happened in every single country that's ever existed. But you must remember that those foreigners (Europeans) soon became also part of the locals when they mixed with the Indigenous people and with the Africans that were brought and, guess what!, we're their offspring. We're the children of Europeans, Africans and Native Americans, therefore our cultureS are a mix of European, Native American and African heritage. That's what makes us mestizos and "latinos". Denying one of those elements that make up our identity is like denying yourself. Si hablas español y tu cultura es hispanoamericana, eres hispano y eso no te lo puedes quitar.

      Não se identificar como latino é direito das pessoas, cada um tem a liberdade de não ter essa identificação nem mesmo fazer questão de pertence-la uma vez que não tem interesse fazer parte da mesma.
      Esse termo sempre foi ligado inteiramente aos países hispânicos e não ao Brasil, existe toda uma indústria cinematográfica estadunidense que sempre criou estereótipos de latinos somente ligado aos países hispanicos, principalmente mexicanos, cubanos e centro americanos pq são os povos que mais imigraram para o EUA historicamente.

In high school, I barely got through in the languges (English, Swedish and Spanish) because everything seemed so heavily focused on the punctuality (or that's how I perceived it). We're mestizos, not native Americans. Indigenous people are the real Native Americans. Also, indigenous people tend to be shy, polite and not so talkative and loud as we are. They've got cultures that take respect and honour much more seriously than we do as mestizos. I think the stereotypes of Hispanic people being like that is because of all the mix, especially since Spaniards and West-Africans are quite friendly, sunny and energetic and our cultures trace their roots deeply into the Spanish and the African cultureS, not only Native American ones (this may vary on every single country, though).
