Somewhere right now, Shaq is saying "Nuh-uh, Secret Base, you can't talk about championships. I have four championships, Secret Base, how many championships you got? Stop it."
Also Shaq - "Secret Base be jealous of me and the talent i had. They jealous they couldn't play in the NBA. That's why they keep talking about me"

The Bill Walton beef is something I just could not understand even after learning about basically every detail. You mean to tell me he started beefing with a guy simply because he doesn't think he's on the same level as Kareem, Bill and Wilt when those 3 guys consider that very same guy to be a peer? The fact that it's still going on to this day just further highlights how fragile his ego really is.
Walton played and won his last ring with *that* Bird Celtics team. Any black kid who grew up in that era HATED the Celtics and their players and loved the Lakers. It's likely that Shaq wasn't a fan right from the start. Shaq was also probably insulted on their behalf when Walton did that Nike commercial alongside Kareem, Wilt and Bill. I like Walton but he didn't belong there and was likely included as the token white representation. The final straw was Walton saying Shaq needed to lose weight, which he took as an attack and the rest is (beef) history.
Bill Walton sucks, overrated player i don't get how people compare him to Wilt or Bill Russell
Yall are crazy, Walton b4 his feet betrayed him was as good as they get. He beat Kareems record at ucla and he was most definitely better than Bill Russell. 11 rings is the only defining thing of Russell's career, his game was mid. If he came along 2 decades later, no one would even know him
@@Toodles_McDoodlebro, do you know who Bill Russell played for!? I don’t understand how anyone could make this a “Celtics” thing when you have another Celtics player treated oppositely
@@chriscurry2496 that’s a bit disingenuous. The Celtics were one of the first teams to integrate so a lot of the black fan base were Celtics fans. That is until the “great white hope” narrative used to oppose Magic became so prevalent. Point being, it’s not as simple as saying that since a franchise was beloved in one era it’s safe to assume it’d retain the status.
I realized maybe 7-8 years ago, Shaq is the pettiest and softest (ego wise) nba player of all time. He takes even the lightest of criticism as a personal attack. People make fun of klay for the four finger taunt shaqs been doing it for 15 years💀
He's basically a big ass 13 year old girl on her period
I mean it only makes sense. Most people in life arent going to test Shaq... Dude is a mammoth of a man. So he the type to bully everyone and getting his way.
I think MJ is probably far more petty, but isn't always on a platform to share his thoughts.
I do think he's matured a lot with age and since Kobe's death. The evidence I'll point to is the other night he asked if curry should be in the goat conversation. Shaq was asked if he thought he was ahead of curry and he flatly said Curry was better
So it's cool to see him settle down as he gets older
shaqs step dad did a number on him and made him a insecure petty man which makes a bully if that man is big
Chuck doesn't call Shaq Petty White for nothing lol.

Shaq's beef with Dwight is one of the more indefensible mud slinging episodes in NBA history. Him going after Dwights reputation every month on TNT played a huge part in Dwight not being selected to the NBA 75 list. We all know that Dwight was not a great teammate, leader or took things seriously enough in his prime. But the man absolutely deserved to be in that list.
Yet somehow Damian made the nba 75 list when Dwight is the more decorated player out of the two
@@Braylon1997He is more accomplished than Anthony Davis.

Dwight's a pole smoker that excludes him automatically
I appreciate the coverage of Shaq. He spends millions a year on marketing the “most dominant” moniker as if we weren’t all there to witness the petulance that was attached with it.
Regardless of whether you hated him or not without Shaq the game of basketball would most likely be dull and boring. He helped brighten up the game with his unique persona and incredible athleticism. I can totally understand if you take him as being cocky and a jokester in the many commercials that he has been in but I doubt you would be able to change who he is. He’s going to always be the big man who acts like an energetic kid in the backyard.
Well right now the NBA is the worst its ever been so

Yes, as mentioned there was a huge Shaq beef with Kobe and one with David Robinson.
But there’s another one not mentioned, the beef with Steve Nash. And there are probably others I’ve forgotten about. Shaq is a beef machine.
Dwight Howard and Kevin Durant
I think it comes from him knowing that he underperformed most of his career. The force that was Shaq should have won more, but didn't.
Can't believe they skipped the Robinson beef, Seth's description of the pettiness of The Admirals scoring title is one of my fave Secret Base moments:)
Seth acknowledged it. It was basically for CZcams usage reasons that they couldn’t include it
@@thedefinitionisthis dumb question, but any idea what actually broke the rules?
@@daveintheAM They used to use a lot of clips in their videos, rather than narrate over photos, animations, and news articles like they do here. Like they would have full on interviews and more, that would run for like 30 seconds to a minute without them speaking on top of it, or adding anything on top of it. Just full on segments running. I'm guessing the Shaq/Robinson video has lots of clips, interviews, segments, etc. I'm assuming some broadcast companies put in a claim and got monetization taken off of it. Hence him mentioning it, but not wanting to directly link it in case that knocks monetization off of this one.

@@BL4CKB0X No. I mean guys like Seth and Clara once appeared physically in past videos.
The thing that drives me crazy about Shaq when it comes to Bill Walton is..had something catastrophic happened to Shaq after he won his 1st ring, and he was injured right in his prime, and never fully recovered, he would be in the HOF. Because of *his* uniqueness and dominance in the span that led to that 1st ring.
Bill did it even faster than Shaq. He came into the league and immediately impacted it enough to win.
I say all this, but I know deep down, that's not why Shaq doesn't like him.

Shaq loves to attack anyone who he perceives as a threat on the Mt Rushmore of centers... anyone sniffing at being good he hates him lol.
I know you don't usually cover F1, but can you do a Prost vs. Senna Beef History episode?
Thanks and Happy Holidays to everyone!
That would be awesome I with the Secret Base
I’ve always felt that when Shaq says he’s “The Most Dominant”, it’s just him sayin’ that he’s the Fattest Player to ever play the game.
Not only does Shaq like beef he is beefy
Lol 😆
It's ironic how the biggest, strongest and most dominant human to step foot on an NBA court happens to be the most insecure and sensitive one.
From the esports scene Shaq even had a beef with Duncan "Thorin" Shields. Even going on to ask Richard Lewis "Where is Duncan?" multiple times at a Street Fighter tournament ELeague was hosting. RL having to tell him "He's not here, he doesn't cover fighting games" to where Shaq said "Yeah, well he's a punk"
Shaq is wrong a lot. And especially with his take on Bill Walton. The guy had his pro career stifled by injuries but he 100% earned his HOF induction. And he doesn’t get called out enough for being such a bully and douche when he was younger. Especially for the whole Kobe situation in LA.
True, Kobe was definitely perceived as being the “bad” one then especially because of the rape trial and kobe’s demeanor. I think that whole situation actually helped shaq’s image a lot because he looked like a big goofy older brother who just wants to have fun
It's the Basketball HOF so all levels of basketball are factored in. Someone scoring only 6000 points in 13 calendar years has no business being on an NBA anniversary team. None
@@mongoslade277 exactly. He's in bc of his college career and it's warranted but as far as NBA it's terrible. That fact he won an MVP is laughable and even more laughable is Shaq only one a single MVP
@@Boss3Nate- I agree about his NBA anniversary team selection but he earned his HOF induction because of what he did at UCLA. The title he helped win in Portland certainly helps. But he’s basically another Ralph Sampson type as far as the NBA career went. The Celtics certainly didn’t “need” his help exactly. But he jumped right in an contributed as best he could in 1985-86.
wrongggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg bill walton shouldnt be there
It's funny how Shaq thinks Bill is unqualified to talk about him, given that it is now his job to sit on a panel talking about how good or bad people are at shooting the ball 😂
Added to the fact that Walton probably knows more about actual basketball in his pinky finger than Shaq does in his entire body. Shaq basically excelled because of about 90% physical dominance. Walton, as a player, had a total analytical and vision-based approach to playing the game (witness his almost single-handed dismantling of Memphis State in the '73 NCAA Finals).

I am a huge fan of Shaq 1992-2004. It saddens me that Shaq can’t make piece with some of these people, which hurts his legacy. Petty squabbles should be beneath Shaq since he is a legend and one of the greatest centers of all time. Less is more Shaq! Believe it.
I remember when Shaq arrived from Krypton, and he created Superman. It's amazing Shaq created Superman in the 1930's but waited until the 90's to become Kazaam or Steel
Wow, never knew Shaq was such an A-hole all the time. Thanks for highlighting that!
We all have been waiting on this one 🎉
Shaq only got away with that bully mentality because of how big he was. Make him your average sized NBA player and you got Draymond Green. Draymond was integrel part of the Warriors dynasty but he never dominated.
Shaq wouldn't even make it in the NBA if he was Draymond size, size was all he had plus his obesity
Even though he won't ever admit it, he's easily one of the weakest players in regards to mindset and ego. Dudes a grown baby during those early 2000 years.

Great video! 👏🏻👏🏻
I still will never understand the Walton beef. It seems well regarded, even among the great other centers, that Walton deserves to be considered one of the best injury context considered. It feels like Shaq doesn't want it to be considered and a lot of the times, almost considered it like "his fault" for getting hurt, which feels extremely weird
Why not add the extra stuff from when Dwight won a ring. Doesn’t seem difficult

This is the most awesome channel. Reminds me of so many good memories (and bad ones) from my early life as a young sports fan. Ahh they don't make them like they used to
Shaq is insecure which is why he has to put other centers down to make himself feel better
I think insecurity is in the core of Shaq's continuous self-vindication after retirement. He knows that he could have done much more, if he had taken care of his body, so he tries to hide it to the outside world with layers of arrogance, outrageous takes and ego-boosting idiocy, what in the core is just plain insecurity.
He left so much on the table.
Imagine how dominant his game would've become if he embraced the granny shot free-throw.
He could've played another 3 years at a high level if he took care of his body.
This right here. Shaq is the mostly physically gifted specimen in NBA history. Maybe even sports history. He has 4 rings but I think deep down he knows that he really only earned the first one, which was also his lone MVP season. Rings 2-4 were more attributable to Kobe, Phil Jackson, Dwyane Wade, and Pat Riley. Given Shaq’s physical gifts the argument could be made that he underachieved in the NBA. When anyone voices that argument he just responds with “4 rings” because that’s all he can say.
Liking this before watching!
The Shaq’n fool part is hilarious 😂
Shaq really does owe Kevin Durant a lot for making people forget Shaq was the most insecure brat in the history of superstars up until Durant showed up.
I love Shaq, but his bravado and arrogance is in proportion with his size, accomplishments, and level of dominance he held on his position in the 90s and 00s. There was no reason for him to be as big a punk ass to Walton especially, because Walton was always supportive of him I think.

Shaq might've grown to be the next Bill Walton... If he hadn't been an utter man child instead of the most charming, soft hearted gentle giant on Earth.
Bill has more goodwill in his little finger than Shaq can muster from 400 lbs of stupid.
Shaq is an interesting figure in the NBA. An absolutely dominant and amazing player no doubt, but he left alot of the table with his focus and discipline in later years. He is a great analyst with entertaining and valuable insight, but is also extremely immature and petulant at times. Shaq is much less able to take it compared to how much he loves to dish it out. He is a great but flawed individual, who is a hypocrite but also a pillar of the modern nba
Great video

I honestly think that Walton's personality type just doesn't mesh with Shaq's, and that's where a lot of the vitriol stems from.
-- Shaq couldn't take ribbing and honesty from Barkley. So Shaq just ended up saying "google me, chuck" and "four rings."
Shaq is a gentle giant BUT when it comes to ego, that's his only soft spot.
