  • Myths In Mental Health Stigma.
My first myth regards something a psych nurse told my mother about 20 years ago when I first became acutely ill: Out of nicotine and schizophrenia, SZ is more dangerous than smoking tobacco, so we shouldn't worry about it.
This displays an obvious need for mental health education. BC Schizophrenia Society is running a campaign to raise mental health awareness about myths and mental health stigma regarding schizophrenia.

This is definitely just a myth or an industry secret! Tobacco industry knows something about it, too.
Believing it, then fact checking it, I still continued to slowly approach a rate of smoking usually termed "chain smoking."
Thank goodness I finally quit in 2012.

There is sadly a much lower life expectancy for people with schizophrenia, let's not add to the burden by lowering it more...

Congratulations on quitting a drug that's is supposed to be harder than heroin to give up!!! If you can put your mind to doing that there isn't much you won't be able to!

It’s people in the magic universe messing with people in the physical world, sadly.
