  • Klipsch builds on their success with The Fives powered speakers with The Sevens and The Nines, both of which offer bigger drivers and more power while delivering Klipsch's legendary sound.

    Klipsch The Nines: www.crutchfield.com/i-rYTVc2X...
    The best thing about The Sevens and The Nines are that they are so versatile. You can stream to them, plug in your TV, even connect a turntable. They've got a 24-bit/192kHz DAC and a USB input if you want to play high-res files. The HDMI input is ARC-compatible, so these speakers can really be the heart of your system.
    The Sevens feature 6-1/2" drivers, with 80 watts of power driving each woofer. The Nines use an 8-inch driver with 100 watts of power driving each. Each speaker has a "R/L" switch on them, making it easy to find placement in the room. The dial control on the top can control the action, though you can use the included remote or the Klipsch app for more options.
    The sound you get from either of these powered stereo speaker sets is vintage Klipsch: deep, rich, and detailed.

    I bought the Nines 3 weeks ago. I have had the Fives for a year, and the Nines run rings around them. The Fives are amazing for their size however they lacked precision and power delivery in my large lounge. The Nines have better frequency separation, with mids more refined. The soundstage is much more open and free. The real chefs kiss is the incredible deep bass. They are hitting 21hz in my lounge with dynamic bass enabled. In fact I have to reduce bass output to -3, reduce the pre-set to wall setting (-3db) to tame it, no subwoofer needed. If I want to crank the volume up I find the sound is more natural with dynamic bass disabled. The app is still buggy at times and crashes when I turn dynamic bass on and off. So work to be done but could not be happier with the quality of finish and sound.

    I have a question about the fives and sevens would you need a center channel speaker for you tv or just those speakers and a subwoofer?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  Před měsícem

      Thanks! 🙂 They wouldn't require a center channel to use those powered speakers with a TV. The speakers paired with a separate powered subwoofer will provide a great 2.1-channel listening experience with music and TV both.

    • @Spud_E_Buddy
      @Spud_E_Buddy Před rokem

      The purpose of these types of powered speakers is that you don’t need a receiver/amp. If you mean how can you “connect” various sources, it has HDMI (ARC) and Optical for connecting to a TV, USB Audio (for connecting to a PC), Aux, Phono, and even Bluetooth.

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  Před rokem

      We just wanted to chime in and confirm that speakers like these are designed to work without being connected to a receiver. These are powered speakers and the sources (i.e. turntable, CD player, TV, etc...) are connected directly to one of its audio inputs.

    I'm considering the Sevens for my desktop PC audio system. I'm using a pair of Adam Audio A7V monitors which are about the same size as the Sevens. The A7V are good but can be fatiguing after a while. Anyone use the Sevens in a desktop/nearfield setup?

      We have not tried these in a decktop or nearfield application. We do have concerns about these also being fatiguing in that application but haven't tried to know exactly what to expect. Hopefully, someone will chime in that has used them this way

      There is no specific distance listed in the specifications for placement of the Klipsch The Nines or The Sevens. You'll need enough space for air to be able to move out of the rear port hole. Pictured in the video both speaker pairs are spaced at least 8" or so from the back wall and they performed well.

    Great review!
    I’ve had the Sevens for going on a month now.
    I had the Fives before, which for their size and price (about $530.00 after tax via Amazon) they were great.
    The Sevens though are a phenomenal upgrade. I found myself wanting to add a sub with my Fives. Now I honestly feel no need for a sub.
    I’m sure it would free up the midrange in the Sevens but I am blown away every time I listen to these speakers.
    One day when I have a dedicated listening room I hope to get a pair of Forte’s or perhaps even La Scala’s.
    Till then these scratch the itch for lets kick-out the jams m***er-f***er as my desktop set-up. Streaming Tidal via my laptop utilizing Dolby Atmos hooked up via Audioquest Carbon USB. (Didn’t believe a USB cable could make a difference but by god it did).
    They also pair via bluetooth to my LG 4K Smart TV so watching movies has been life changing as someone who only ever grew up with tv audio played thru stock tv speakers.

      This is all music to our ears lol We are happy to are enjoying the Sevens. It sounds like you are using them for all the audio you can! Both TV and stereo audio! Fingers crossed on you getting the dedicated listening room. The imaging will come to life when you arrange the speakers and the seating area in a way that they mark the corners of an equilateral triangle.

      @@crutchfield They are part of a desktop set up but I did go out of my way to get a set of Dr Pro speaker stands from my local Guitar Center.
      They are decent enough. I have them filled with sand, toed in slightly, about a foot away from the wall, and with my desk in between they are about a little over 5 feet apart.
      I was looking on your website for a new pair of all steel stands. I love the craftsmanship of the Kanto SX26 stands but 26 inches is to short.
      At my height and in my office chair with the current stands at 36 inches the horn is just about level with my ears.
      Hoping Kanto releases a taller version preferably 32 inches minimum.

      @@crutchfield I appreciate the heads up. They just don’t look very heavy/stable.
      The stands I have are top heavy, I want something with a heavy and stable bottom base, a pier that is fillable and appealing.
      I can’t decide between the Ultimate Support MS90/36B or hold out for something else later down the line.

      Thanks, I was wondering if they are worth the upgrade over the Fives, which I own and LOVE. It seemed to me like they may have a bigger sound spatially and better bass. As someone who owns both, you seemed to confirm that here. At $1299, I would hate to get them and not notice much difference than just playing The Fives louder than normal 😄.
