    It is very easy to fix if the bridge pickup is not properly wired.

      Im new to guitar so I’m completely illiterate to the insides haha I figured it’s probably a simple wiring issue but I wound up liking the Ibanez more so it wasn’t worth it to try and fix it.

    Charvel guitars are great once you fix the lack of factory quality, do a proper setup and probably a sharp fret end file. They’re not really a bargain.

      Yea i learned. Which is why I went with the Ibanez. Everything g just high quality out of the box. Still love that guitar

    As someone else pointed out, the fix for that bridge pickup is a simple one that shouldn’t cost much. Probably just a solder joint. (You can tell the pickup itself is fully functional because position 2 is the inner coil of the humbucker with the middle single coil, and position 3 on these is the outer coil of the bridge combined with the neck single coil, so both coils in the bridge ARE functioning independently, just not together) However, it IS inexcusable that it was sent out like that. Maybe happened during shipping? Still inexcusable. But comparing it to the Ibanez is an apples to oranges comparison. It’s literally almost twice the cost of the Charvel, but I get it, you wanted a keeper. Good video. 👍🏻

      Thanks for the feedback.You hit it on the nail. If I’m going to spend money fixing the cheaper guitar, I might as well just spend the extra money and get the keeper. I wasn’t trying to compare it apples to apples. It was more of is it worth the savings vs quality. Really happy with the decision. I’ll be doing a review on my Ibanez next. Killer guitar.

    I noticed something on Sweetwater today, a Charvel HH DK22. They listed it at 1099. Then they have a “new” version of it, exact same everything but those are now 1199. Looks like just a plain price hike.

    I have both guitars, or should I say had. The Ibanez pickups sound so tinny and metalic, that I sold it just to get rid of it. I wasnt going to buy several hundered dollars wotlrth of pickups to replace Seymour Duncan Fortunas. The Charvel on the other had was flawless and is one of my favorites. And is a much better buy at 1000 less. Only advantage was the Ibanez had Stainless steel frets. Wont ever own another Ibanez

      That’s what makes guitars so personal. I had the exact opposite. Glad you found one that worked out! 🙌🏾

    That’s so sad. I have one in gold and the hotrail is one of my favorite pickups.

      Yea I was bummed to because I was looking forward to that! But no regrets with my Ibanez. Thanks for watching!

    Because of guys like you we have guitars selling at $3000 and higher. Instead of spending some time researching the problem and fixing it for less than $100, you'd rather pay a $1000 more on another guitar of same quality. Even EVH, Yngwie were luthiers themselves. Learn from the masters about respecting and knowing the instrument.

      Or maybe I just bought the guitar I liked better. If you watched the video you’d see that I said I liked the Ibanez better for multiple reasons and the fact that the pickup didn’t work was just another extra reason. Even with a fixed pickup I think the Ibanez is better. We’re free to purchase what we like. No?

    I can’t get with these DK’s too thin sounding. In principal they should be perfect, but even the pups sound terrible in that guitar. I don’t like the way it plays, or sounds. I had a Nick Johnston Schecter as well for a minute and I thought it was light years better.

    I dunno,Gibson has quality control issues all the time but they flourish on people believing it's a "1 off" model for it having a flaw or wiring the wrong way. Sounds like you just wanted the Ibanez and made a reason to tell people for your decision to make content

    Did you get the bridge pickup working?

    • @ZacBarnesMusic
      @ZacBarnesMusic  Před 2 měsíci +1

      No, I didn’t want to spend extra money on it so I sent it back and kept the Ibanez instead
