Hello, what is in the middle of the grinding hub when on the machine that uses a Allen key >? is that the hub puller ?
    Thx
    Alec

Alec, the Allen key is used to tighten or loosen a threaded screw which presses the hub onto the spindle. It’s a weird system but it works.

First, if you think the machine is that dangerous I would recommend you get rid of it, but if you are going to keep it check out Don Bailey at Suburban Tool. He is a master. master, Tool Maker and has Videos on grinding. Especially watch the one "How to Grind Fast and Accurate." "How to balance and dress a wheel" is not a bad one either, although he is not using washers. He does it the old way. ------ and I could be wrong, bot I don't remember you "ringing" the wheel to check for cracks. Not doing that with ANY wheel is the most dangerous thing you can do, even on a bench grinder.

Mr Bailey is indeed a great resource. As for ringing the grinding wheels, all I can say is that about 60% of all the stuff I film gets cut, sorry I didn’t get to show you that part of the project. 😉
