Tamba Hali, Derrick Johnson, Eric Berry, Justin Houston all without Super Bowl rings breaks my heart a little
NIC Sicko just thinking Mahomes would have showed up in there prime 😰
@Byrdee Blanco no he cant Luck reatired remember
Byrdee Blanco lmaooo
@Byrdee Blanco you are smoking something if you think Brissett can get to a sb with New England, Kansas City, LAC, Houston, in that confernce
Byrdee Blanco ohh shut up
Packers @ Bears 2008 - Bears win 20-17
Packers @ Chiefs 2011 - Chiefs win 19-14
Packers @ Bills 2014 - Bills win 21-13
Orton was the QB opposite of Rodgers in each of those games
It boggles my mind how Kyle Orton has been a nightmare for us when we go on the road
Kind of how I feel about Mike Glennon
his defenses*
Earlier in the year Orton was playing for Denver and GB beat them at home 49 to 20 something.
Kyle Orton went 3-0 against the NFC North in 2014.
@@bsmith13 mike glennon did nothing to us
Me, a Chiefs fan: OH BOY!! A Chiefs throwback where we win!
4 field goals later in the 4th: Yep, seems about right.
Thee Jareeve Never seen a more accurate statement. Not true anymore of course
I mean they just won the super bowl
2011 was really the weirdest chiefs season ever
I had completely forgotten about Dexter McCluster ! He was an exciting player to watch :)
Kansas City has always had great running backs and Offensive lines and a nice special teams unit throughout their existence.
Sean S. He plays in arena football
Prime Tamba Hali was a beast that day. Great win for the Chiefs but also set the table for Romeo to get the HC job which led to the 2012 team which is the worst Chiefs team I've seen in my life.
But then salvation followed
Hali got held at 7:07 on that big 3rd down play that eventually led to the Packers' first TD. If holding is called there, perhaps the Packers only score 7. He really should've blown up that play.
Ronal Alcantara I started watching in the Chiefs during the 2012 season. It was painful. Then we got Alex Smith, enjoyed success but always flopped in the playoffs. Patrick Mahomes came along and got us to the championship game during his first year starting, then won a Super Bowl in his second. It was awesome watching us go from awful to great. Even if it took awhile.
@@richardsinclair7661 It kinda shows what happens when you have good players but bad coaching. You know things are bad when the fans are begging you to start Kyle Orton over a $60 million dollar QB. 2-14 to 11-5 that’s a good turnaround.
@@williamjblazkowicz1593 That season in 2012 left the chair open for Andy Reid to be fired from Philly and to come here.
I know we’re like a top 2 or 3 team in the afc right now, but these struggle days bring me good memories. Chiefs were really bad, but my life was alright lol
southpark 981 the 2012 chiefs were as worse as they’ve ever been. They had the first pick of the draft. But whatevs
southpark 981 there’s definitely levels to irrelevancy, but I guess living here and being a chiefs fan my whole life, you’d definitely feel like we’ve been through some shit. I wouldn’t expect fans of other teams to understand. But if your point is that the chiefs aren’t perennial jobbers, I agree for the most part.
@southpark 981 Whelp. Considering the Chiefs won their Super Bowl a few months ago (with Andy, no less) this didn't age well.
@southpark 981 They didn't. Not compared to other teams, at least. What I'm referring to is you saying the Chiefs are good enough to be in the playoffs, maybe win a conference championship, but never win it all. That's what didn't age well. Who cares whether Mahomes won it. That doesn't matter. A W is a W.
Wasn’t this the only game the Packers lost all season long
Yes
Regular season yes. Then they went one and done in the playoffs against the 9-7 Giants

ECHICAGOBEARSDBZ remember Caleb Henne?
As a Chiefs fan, I can say it always feels good to defeat a undefeated team.
falcons did it to the panthers in 2015 season as well lol
Brennan McKinney Giants beat the Broncos in 1998 season which the Broncos went to the SuperBowl that season.
@@Sazerrider they ended up 14-2 tho not 15-1
1990Thunderbolt those Falcon fans really enjoyed that
Brennan McKinney lmfao
It doesn't really mean anything, but I find it funny that Kyle Orton-led teams defeated the Packers the two years Rodgers was MVP--2011 with the Chiefs and 2014 with the Bills. The first cost GB an undefeated season, while the second cost GB the 1st seed in the conference. Any given Sunday...
This was a walk down memory lane. It’s nice to see how far the Chiefs have come in recent years! So many Chiefs legends suffered through some bad years but this win will always be special. Especially since my wife’s stepdad is a Packers fan. 😂
NFL Throwback has to be one of the greatest channels ever created!!!! It shows fans the best moments in football!!!!
I remember being at the game. The people in the crowd was almost split evenly chiefs/packers fans, it was wild.
Imagine if the Packers went 16-0 that season and then went one and done to the Giants, 16-1 lol
Pancake 26 as a pats fan Ik how iit feels by having ur undefeated season ended by the giants 😂😭😭😭
@@tombradyistheg.o.a.t4414 lol there's just something about those Giants.....
@@thecrown_jul I have a conspiracy theory. When the giants are heavy or 'giant' underdogs, they never fail to surprise everyone as they live up to their name. The giants like the odds stacked against them. They play like trash otherwise.
@@sportballotaku2139 if the giants win the superbowl this season with Daniel Jones that'd be sick, with brady passing the torch to DJ.
Dayne Reeves facts they go 12-4 or 11-5 they lose first round they go 10-6 or 9-7 they win the super bowl
This loss ended up being a blessing in disguise bc Packers going 16-0 just to get destroyed in the divisional round would have been an all time bad choke.
This was the only good thing that happened to us that year.
What about the 6 INT game against the Raiders? Lol.
@@Xhoven to be expected from the raiders
I guess. Hue Jackson looked like a decent coach at the time, as he had the Raiders at 4-2. He trades for Carson Palmer, calls it "the greatest trade in football," then Palmer throws 3 INTs and plays absolutely abysmal in his first game and the Raiders get shut out 28-0 on their own field.
Remember when the Chiefs went like a year and a half without a wide receiver scoring a touchdown.
That doesn't even feel like it happened this decade with the team we know they have now... gawt damn.
I remember Dwayne Bowe dropping hella touchdowns throughout that streak
Lowkey miss this squad. Not cause of the record, but the talent we had on the team.
Can you imagine if Green Bay won this game, went 16-0 in the regular season, and then got booted in the first round? That wudda been hilarious.
Losing this was actually a blessing in disguise
@@hassansaleh4649 But they went 1 and done anyway
With the chiefs being super bowl contender this year a game like this COULD happen to us, any given freaking Sunday!!!
Wow have things changed in KC... Mahomes aside. Crazy game!
R&B Music found another Chargers fan!!!! #BoltUp
I was at this game...truly an ugly one, but I appreciated what was ultimately a pointless win if only to shut up all the Packers fans in the stadium. I love seeing Chiefs highlights from this era for the nostalgia factor plus really making us appreciate the Reid era....and Mahomes :)
I remember this game like it was yesterday. I was 11 years old. Watched every bit of the game and I remember wanting Orton to be our QB the next season😂😂. We’ve come a long way since then. Thank god for Andy Reid and Patty Mahomes
Tamba Hali was on fire. Crazy with how almost every play he was being held too
Great game... everyone slept on us, for good reason. We just fired Todd Haley and Kyle Orton was our quarterback. The packers were undefeated and they were impossible. I have to admit, even I thought we were gonna get our asses kicked by the packers. This is the game that won Romeo the head coaching job and it made fans (especially myself) want Kyle orton to permanently start over Matt cassel, but he was comfortable being a back up. Didn’t want any qb controversies after what he went through in Denver with Tebow
Seeing the players rally around Crennel in this game I thought, hell if we can just get a good offensive coordinator in here Crennel can keep the defense cooking, might have something here. Unfortunately that was not to be. But, you have to go through 2012 to get Reid in 2013, and eventually Mahomes. So, no regrets.
David Cornelius exactly, no regrets! Man... dark days though. Remember the “save our chiefs” campaign? Sheesh... Brady Quinn? I remember wanting Ricky stanzi to get a chance smh
Slim is chillin Packers defense was the worst that year, so this was bound to happen
Brennan McKinney the chiefs were one of the worst teams in the league and were getting worse. That’s why this game is memorable for me.
Slim is chillin they aren’t bad now
Proof that it doesn't matter what your record is... ANY GIVEN SUNDAY!
I remember this. Crenell had just taken over and everyone thought he was the answers to our prayers. NO one expected we would be able to pull off this upset. Little did we know Romeo was yet anotger dud in the lineups of chiefs coaching. He was good as coordinator and that's where he should have stayed.
Glad we have Reid and Mahomes now as the dynamic duo. The chiefs are the top team to watch this 2019 season. As all chiefs fans have been saying for DECADES: "THIS IS OUR SEASON"
Tamba Hali beat Marshall Newhouse like a friggin drum in this game.
Ben Parkins
No surprise there, Newhouse is so bad. I hated when he played at RT for the giants.
The bad old days as a chiefs fan where this was the best part of our year
I remember when Romeo Crennel was the shit after this game then the next season we went 2-14🤦♂️
Most people don’t remember but the Chiefs had a shot to win the division at 8-8 that season.
@@shawnchristianson324 facts but we had a big problem with QB
2011 was a weird year for the AFC West. All four teams were very mediocre. None of them bad, none of them good. The Raiders had a 7-4 record after 11 games and looked like they would probably win it, but they lost 4 of their last 5 games, including week 17 which would've won them the division. The Broncos had an 8-5 record after 13 games and looked like they could easily finish with a winning record, but they lost their final 3 games...and still won the division with a 7-3 week 17 home loss. The Chargers were already eliminated from the playoffs in week 17, but they had a chance to knock the Raiders out with a win, and that's exactly what they did. Just an awful division that year. Though, the Broncos did somehow improbably beat the Steelers in the playoffs.
Xhoven I’m a Broncos fan, and I just couldn’t believe what I was watching from all four teams.
Just like the NFC West when the Seahawks won at 7-9
Shawn Christianson yeah Denver, Oakland and them were all close
*On the road
*Against a team with a losing record
*Rodgers ignores Packers fans while emerging from the tunnel
Looks like we got ourselves an old fashioned *trap game*
I used to watch NFL Network a lot at the time. I remember during one segment, they were talking about who had the best chance to beat the Packers on the rest of their schedule. Warren Sapp said "Kansas City," and I thought he was crazy with how bad the Chiefs played at times that year. But he was right.
@@Xhoven Hey man we all learn from experience. You can never get caught looking too far ahead. A bad team late in the season is going to treat you coming into town like a playoff game, ya gotta be prepared.

CM T3 yup right out of the gate he had that worried look on his face!
That play-action passing by the Chiefs was death for the Packers defense wow.
I remember this game packers were so cocky that season was happy to see the chiefs and the giants humble that ass
Bro I remember this, my brother is a Packers fan and he was screaming 16-0 and I was like nah and this happened and we were all stunned! This was a crazy year and sadly it ended with Brady on his back and his pass incomplete and down 17-21 with 0:00 on the clock

Chiefs practically played like we had done all year so far and we didn’t. A well-deserved win for them.
I like that the Packers and Chiefs are psuedo rivals because of Super Bowl I and the Chiefs stopped the Packers perfect season. The Packers vs Chiefs game at Arrowhead in October might be one of the best games of the season.
Yall should have uploaded superbowl 1 highlights
If it wasn’t for this, the Packers would’ve gone undefeated I the regular season. Thank you, Chiefs!
There wasn't a whole lot of defense being played in 2011. Teams like the Packers, Patriots, and Saints were almost as historically bad on defense as they were historically good on offense, and it ended up costing them all in the end. The Giants, an average team with a good defense, upset GB and NE and won the title. After that, the top tier teams learned their lesson and started paying attention to the defense. And we've seen the results as several of the champions since 2011 had top tier defensive units (2012 Bal, 2013 Sea, 2015 Den, 2018 NE)
Yeah this year is when passing was used way way way more tgen usual and teams couldn't adjust at the time so That's why. Now teams are used to the pass ring used heavily and defenses are better better
2012 Ravens defense wasn't that good. It was ranked 17th in the league and Ray Lewis was a shell of himself. Joe Flacco balled out in 2012 playoffs
Packers wr group was stacked ash 🤯🤯
Thomas Jones and Kyle Orton playing against the packers like it's 2005
Wow I was at this game. Time is flying. Man
Man, 2011 was so dissatisfying. Green Bay had the best offense in the league and were looking like one of the best teams of all time. Jordy Nelson is coming into his own, Donald Driver is still a steady presence, Greg Jennings has another good year, Randall Cobb is a good looking rookie and Jermicheal Findlay is a good TE. Sure GB had an inconsistent run game, but every receiver we had was a Pro-Bowler once during their career. I honestly though we’d go back to back.
But the defense took a huge step back. Sure we had enough defense talent. Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, Clay Matthews, Erik Walden, BJ Raji and Morgan Burnett. Problem was, we lost our All-Pro Safety Nick Collins to a career ending injury in Week 2 of that season. He was the cog that made our defense great. He was smart, aggressive and very talented. He would have been one of the best safety’s of the decade had it not been for the injury. With Collins gone, our secondary struggled.
Then Mike McCarthy made a very bad decision. He rested starters. Anyone ever watched the 96 AFC Divisional Game between the Broncos and Jaguars? The Broncos were the #1 seed and Mike Shanahan rests starters toward the end of their schedule. Come the game against Jacksonville, they’re rusty. They’re not as sharp as they should be. They make mistakes and don’t play well enough. And by the time they’re getting in rhythm, it was too late.
This is the exact thing that happens to the 2011 Packers. McCarthy rested starters and come game day, they’ve sat for so long that they’re rusty. And when they start to get hit, our poor secondary can’t hold the Giants in check.
It was so disappointing seeing such a talented team come up short. I felt this was the best GB team I’ve ever seen in my life. Better than the 07 team, better (offensively) than the 10 team and the 16 team. The only Packers squad that I though was either as good or pretty close to this team was the 14 team. Course I don’t feel like talking about that team.
Disappointing, but, not surprising, they probably should have lot to the Giants earlier in the season, plus they probably don't beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
Matthew Daley idk. They beat the Giants in New York. The New Meadowlands is had to play at. I’d say Green Bay would have had a good chance in the Super Bowl. The offense was just so powerful, that I think it would have been a really fun track-fest.
@@tempest20000 They only beat them by a field goal, if it goes to OT, who knows?

This Packers team is very similar to today’s Chiefs...
bbc do you understand how good Hill and Kelce are?
Cody Walton do you forget how many weapons Rodgers had? Hill and Kelce are probably better than any one player the packers had, but the Pack had Driver, Nelson, James Jones, Jermichael Finley, Starks. They were good because everyone was good. The chiefs aren’t good because 2 guys are crazy talented. They’re good because they use that to their advantage and spread the ball around. The fact they haven’t fully committed to that costed them the games they did lose last year. Forcing it to Tyreek because he’s fast for example
@bbc Maybe on defense slightly better.... as long as they keep Pat upright he could have a better season this adding weapons of Mecole Hardman & Darwin Thompson this team is deep and stupid fast.
Andrew Bryant a lot better hahaha. Chiefs have pass rushers and safeties. That’s it lol. Mecole is a burner who hasn’t proven he can play against corners with good technique and who are larger than him. Darwin was a late round pick for a reason.
@@riccracc6547 yes the chiefs have pass rushers Chris Jones one of the best in the league who each year has got better vs the run and i don't expect that to change Derrick Nnadi is as big as an oak tree is going into year to and will be a force vs the run and proved to be a force in the pass game last season making some big plays Frank Clark and Dee Ford very similar numbers except as bad as Ford was vs the run is how good Clark is. Ward, mo Claiborne , Fuller, and breeland the jury is out but Ward is going into year 2 after a decent 2nd half of the year including catching the int vs Brady that sends the chiefs to the super bowl if ford does not line up in the neutral zone. Thornhill while a rookie is still better then Parker and Lucas he has had a great camp and solid preseason but yes i get it he's a rookie. if you go back to 2 years ago when Eric Berry was on the field the chiefs were a totally different team but the problem is he played 2 games in two years that being said the honey badger is light years better then Eric Murray and company. The lbs ill admit is the weak point of the team but Hitchens was above average in Dallas in the 4-3 and last year he seemed to be confused about assignment and what not this defense is less thinking and more attacking which should benefit the lbs across the board. Lee is looking for a fresh start after busting with the jets and he has looked good in the preseason generally around the ball for the tackle or assist and he is only in his 4th year and Ragland shows flashes just needs to be more consistent . So yes i said a lot better but middle of the league would be a lot better for a team that was an off sides away from the super bowl. Real quick on the offensive side your right about the rookies what I'm talking about with Hardman is like Tyreek Hills rookie numbers ish don't forget who his QB was. Thompson has good hands, hard runner and it looks like he will get some carries. the rest of the team is back for the most part and if Pat does ANYTHING in the first half vs the Pats were not talking right now. So yes with a middle of the road defense the chiefs beat those packers as well as today's packers.
Chiefs running the same plays getting em with it!!
1st down- PA Boot Rollout
2nd play- Quick slant to the opposite side
3rd play- Screen pass. This formula happens a lot...

If the 2011 Packers had a smidge of a defense, then they repeat as SB champs.
Absolutely they would have repeated if they had a good defense their offense was one of the best that we’ve ever seen you gotta give credit to the giants though they came in with a good game plan and Eli and the giants defense played very well

In 2011 no one would've predicted that the Chief's would eventually get a superbowl win before the Packers would.
For tomorrow and during the weekend can you do the very first Eli vs TB match up before they meet again in Super Bowl 42. The Monday Night Colts vs Bengals during the Peyton and Palmer era. The DMV/Beltway Bowl between the Skins and Ravens in the RG3 era. And Super Bowl 29 blowout between the 49ers and then San Diego Chargers
They'll probably do that before their matchup later this year.
They've already uploaded the 2012 Beltway Bowl, search it!

This Packers team was probably the worst 15-1 team in history. They had an awful defense (dead last), when teams like the 1998 Vikings or 2015 Panthers were much more balanced teams. You could probably name a slew of 12-4 teams that were better than this Packers team.
