This is so symbolic for me. It kind of represents (at least for me) what depression feels like. The being alone and reaching out to people who don't accept you. Not knowing where you belong. And especially the part where she is out in the rain and she's going from car to car trying to get in, it's like how you are trying to find a way to cope in such a dreary miserable spot. I don't know if anyone feels the same or is it just me?

I'm sorry. I hope you feel better soon. I suffered with depression in my teens. There's a song by Staind called Let It Out. Helped me chill out when I felt like throwing in the towel. Stay strong my friend.
Everybody tells you "It will be ok" or "Feel better" but the the truth is, that no one (but you) knows if you will be okay or not. I have suffered from anxiety attacks , panic attacks and depression for a period of time, and the truth is that (like me) YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO GET OUT OF THAT. Go to therapy, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT and it will help you. And If you can't go to therapy for any reason, talk about it with someone who knows how to help you. If you can't talk to somebody for some reason, look for neuroscience and psychology videos on CZcams, so that you can evaluate yourself and help yourself. But yes, you can overcome that. WITHOUT ANY FEAR AND DOUBT, you can.

I left home at 17. I was done living with my mentally ill mother. I had been moving ever since, for years. Absolutely no place felt like home to me nor did I want to go back home. Lost. Still dealing with the trauma and having to better myself now through therapy. This song has always held a special place in my heart.

Thank you for you nice words "Sofia Said" but in the moment I am crying because I thaught when I was on drugs how many problems I had and my mum was so worried that I made a overdose everywhere when I was running away from my home...she was ofen drunken because she couldn´t handle it anymore:I was coming at home when I want .She couldn´t sleep then and normally we loved us so much and we was so glad that we was away from my aggressive father, but then????I made her ill and she drunk a lot later on when I had my own flat with my ex - boyfriend but still a good friend,so she could drink all the time with her friends and when I was there,she told me she just drink two bears and I told her that I took nothing or pills against withdraval.but we both was or were lied to protect eachother and not to worry about eachother and I was on methadone(she didn´t know it,mom hated methadone so I don´t told her) & my mom had a withdrawal from alcohol.She told me that she never had a withdrawal from alc and she don´t know how it is but I read her book after she died and read all that and the symtoms when you have a withdrawal from alcohol...shit,we both said that we must get clean in 2000....she died with 46 suddenly in 1999,too young and I still miss my mum......(in the 80s) we lived with my father but we both do nothing and holding together against my father....sorry for this roman and sorry for my english please.....

This song reminds me when I was a refugee and almost homeless at 18 years old. I had a blanket that I found filled with mice droppings so I had to use all my saved coins to wash the blanket, and then I slept that night so cold covered with my clothes instead of a blanket. Thank you Avril for being with me and keeping me strong at that time. Now I am in medical school becoming a doctor in the US and will graduate soon. Love you all. When I was in my early teens experimenting with drugs and drinking etc my parents giving me a hard time not understanding why I was doing what I was my friend told me this song reminded her of me. I listened to it and bawled my eyes out. This song totally brings back how I was feeling back then.
This song is just a picture of Avril's childhood. Maybe she wanted to have her own childhood now with songs like Hello Kitty, 17, or Bitchin' Summer. Why can't she? She fought hard. I will always love her and her music. I won't even compare this to Hello Kitty cause this is perfection and makes me cry but We all have moments like Nobody's Home & moments like Hello Kitty. It's all fine by me. Love Avril.

That's terrible. I was just wondering about what made Avril write this song. I thought she may be talking about someone else because this sounds so opposite to avril lavigne' luck. A girl who is kicked out of her house and keeps falling. It makes you feel sad for the girl.
