Canadian Pacific 2816 in Minnesota - Along the Mississippi River: May 5, 2024

After Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern merged in 2023, it was announced that the Canadian Pacific 2816 would emerge with the Final Spike Tour. All eyes were open when CPKC announced the schedule of the tour, and many in Minnesota were delighted to see that it would come through the state using CPKC's two busiest rail lines, one in central Minnesota that runs into the Twin Cities, and another that runs along the Mississippi River from the Twin Cities to La Crosse, Wisconsin. A travel schedule was then published and I got geared up for a wild but fun chase down the River on Sunday, May 5. Traffic was much like when the Big Boy visited Minnesota in 2019, so I only got 3 shots plus the on-time Empire Builder. Enjoy my footage of the Canadian Pacific 2816 in Minnesota!
