I believe this song is part of a Trilogy as the sequel to I’ve Been Losing You - before the abrupt conclusion of Early Morning! The trilogy tells a dark tragic story in an uplifting way. One of the many Geniuses of
a-ha is they turn dark/sad songs into something beautiful & uplifting.

It's so difficult to determine as you don't know if he's mouthing something in Norsk or English. The same person seems to get his charming smile and shy giggle at 1:39 😊

He is complaining about the sound return in his hearing aids, which are used to hear his own voice while he sings... notice that he constantly fiddles with the earphones. Without correct sound feedback, the singer cannot know if the intonation of the voice is appropriate, and that is what happened in this performance.

Im unsure, but after watching the same shows at least 100x each ( who can resist) I notice he talks to himself a lot☺️ , either just saying random lyrics of the song or repeating what he just sung like chorus lines.
