I didn't realize until now the show ended just a few months before I was born 50 years ago on March 8, 1974. I thought the show ended years AFTER I was born. I also thought it ran more than five seasons. Thanks for posting these clips. You've managed to bring back a joyful part of my youth that was very dear to me. I can recall many great moments from my childhood because of these clips. I guess since it's the 50th anniversary of the shows end, Prime Video is showing all 5 seasons free with only 1 commercial per episode. Thanks again ❤❤❤

Cindy was adorable, with the bluest eyes. She is a good-looking woman too, but she doesn’t have that cuteness anymore. Mrs. Brady was a hot number though, wasn’t she? A rare beauty.

You have to love the set on the Paramount lot. You could see when the Brady boys and their dad and Alice were hanging out. That’s basically the same kitchen when they moved into the new house they just tweaked it, but you can see the design is still there and when the girls Are basically hanging out in the girls room in the Brady home, but I was only old when the show came out, but I used to watch it syndication every single day in 1979 as a preteen it was outdated, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Just a classic show .
I watched it during our lunch break from school. I went to a private school k-8 and lived 3 minutes away on foot. We went home for lunch everyday and this would air. They would rotate between this and Happy Days. Lol

I think it depends. The assumption is Carol’s first husband is dead. So, Mike is their only father now. When my mom get remarried, I never called my step dad anything other than David, as my dad was still very much in my life. It would have been weird, for me at least, to call David “dad” as well.
I watched probably every episode of this legendary show. As I’m a lot older now, it occurs to me that the show taught people things they’ve forgotten now. The episodes taught how to be decent and respectful towards one another. And it taught people to be open and honest about life and situations. Unfortunately, nowadays people are cut-throat towards each other, and generally pretty nasty to each other. I try to stay as I was back then. Jesus was the real Teacher.

One example was when Jan forgot to wear her glasses and accidentally destroyed the family portrait with her bike. The kids had to make a new portrait, except that Jan wore her glasses, which she didn't wear in the original picture. She was grounded but told her parents she sold her bike to pay for the new portrait, which was fair and the right thing to do.
Jan had fewer lines than anyone else in that opener, thus letting viewers know from the get-go that Jan would always float on the periphery, third fiddle to Marsha and Cindy.

These young actors were not close to being like real children. "Family Affair" was better acted. "The Brady Bunch" was made for people who wanted mindless entertainment. I found it to be an insipid TV series, and I was 10 years old and growing up, so I started watching "Mannix", "Hawaii Five-0", etc. I am glad that this series brought joy to a lot of people, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I didn't watch much TV on Friday night because we usually went out as a family to go shopping, go out to eat, go to the movies, etc.
I always found it interesting that Mike needed help with the boys,(Alice),but Carol had no help at all with the girls. I guess are ARE harder to raise,lol!

I just bought the series off eBay. Besides knowing 'Mike" hated his role in the show, I'd nearly kill to know exactly what caused his particular aggravation and annoyance toward the end of the opening theme song being filmed. Besides that, the guys flat white house was bad ass!!
My brother and I always thought Mrs. Carol sounded like Glinda in the first few episodes. I know now that they were kind of doing a particular style at the beginning while they were getting used to the characters.
The acting here is actually a lot better than what we got in the series. The acting declined each year the show was on. I always admired Robert Reed because I had seen him in a lot of things before and after, but the rest of the cast had nothing but "The Brady Bunch" to sponge off of for the rest of their 'careers'.

Why is the girl’s real father never mentioned? How did Carol afford what looks like a decent home with three girls to support and no apparent ex-husband pitching in.
It looks like Carol moved into her parents house with the 3 girls hense the big house. Back then it was really rare for people to divorce, more than likely her husband passed away.

Whatever happened to Carol's first husband? She isn't described as a widow and we know the first Mrs. Brady is dead, but what about the father of Carol's three daughters? Carol was widowed too. Started as a divorcee then switched it. It was always OK for a widowed person to marry regardless of whether there were kids or not. Widows and widowers would get sympathy. Divorcees may be looked down upon because their previous marriage failed so divorced people were like failures. Most people wouldn't get divorced even when they were being abused. How sad. In 1948 a younger Gerald Ford was running for Congress. He delayed his wedding until just before the election because he was concerned about what voters would think of him marrying a divorced Ex dancer. Ford became president in 1974 after Nixon resigned. Seems crazy now but people didn't like divorcees.

They were all gonna be happy until they moved into Mike's house and realized he had installed one bathroom for six kids.

Sure thing! I'm trying to figure out why the boys keep saying things like "before you girls had to move here" type stuff as tho they were always in the known as Brady Bunch house.
Only thing I can think of is producers don't keep a consistent continuum of some things from the pilot on thru I guess in case the series doesn't last.

I just bought the series off eBay. Besides knowing 'Mike" hated his role in the show, I'd nearly kill to know exactly what caused his particular aggravation and annoyance toward the end of the opening theme song being filmed.

My brother and I always thought Mrs. Carol sounded like Glinda in the first few episodes. I know now that they were kind of doing a particular style at the beginning while they were getting used to the characters.
The acting here is actually a lot better than what we got in the series. The acting declined each year the show was on. I always admired Robert Reed because I had seen him in a lot of things before and after, but the rest of the cast had nothing but "The Brady Bunch" to sponge off of for the rest of their 'careers'.

Why is the girl’s real father never mentioned? How did Carol afford what looks like a decent home with three girls to support and no apparent ex-husband pitching in.
It looks like Carol moved into her parents house with the 3 girls hense the big house. Back then it was really rare for people to divorce, more than likely her husband passed away.

That was where they lived before the new house. Alice has been with Mike and the boys since their mother (Mike's first wife) died.

@@jenniferwilliams5478 They originally had Carol be divorced, that's why Mike is the one shown with Bobby looking at his Mom's picture. At the last minute, they decided to have Carol's husband be deceased to not upset the censors, that's why we never see him.
Carol was widowed too. Started as a divorcee then switched it. It was always OK for a widowed person to marry regardless of whether there were kids or not. Widows and widowers would get sympathy. Divorcees may be looked down upon because their previous marriage failed so divorced people were like failures. Most people wouldn't get divorced even when they were being abused. How sad.
In 1948 a younger Gerald Ford was running for Congress. He delayed his wedding until just before the election because he was concerned about what voters would think of him marrying a divorced Ex dancer. Ford became president in 1974 after Nixon resigned. Seems crazy now but people didn't like divorcees.
