I've been watching your videos for a few years now. I have learned a lot from them you even showed me how to use a duck call. My buddy talked me into duck hunting but you showed me the way.
Use to watch all your videos. Loved it. Once you started guiding it went to shit. Guiding and money has ruined waterfowl hunting. Haven’t watched any of your videos since.

You had my attention at 50-100K guys need to stay greedy. Don't think you followed that up though. Thanks for the honest chat and I think you are on to something here. There is a huge gap in information for people who are outdoor content creators. There's tons of videos of hunting and fishing trips but none that I can think of that talk about working as an outdoor content creator. There's a lot we could learn about algorithm, scheduling content, storytelling etc. You might start a whole new TikTok page just for that and keep any hunting scenery to a minimum.
I've been doing the landscaping thing for 5 years. The number one thing to learn is communication with my team and the clients to make us all happy. Took a lot of practice and fails that came with success in learning the situation. Learning to fail is the hardest. Like I'm trying to work on getting used to talking to the camera. I tried and gave up to soon. But I've got to do it, because I want to grow my business and showing my trip of life.

I remember you making a video in that very chair at the old house saying you would never become a guide and you listed reasons why and then you made the decision to become one and those reasons became reality. being a 1st time viewer you sir really helped me , you have reminded me that i should purchase from brands that im a fan of and believe in such as zoom bait company and Berkley Powerbait. i agree that if you're ready to put in the hard work and are ready to make better content for your social media or even youtube then i think to some degree that we should reach out to these brands when it is we as hunters or fishing anglers are most comfortable reaching out to brands. I mean if we put in the hard work to show the brands what is is that we have to offer our viewers then if the brands say no to you or turn you down , then dont worry because there are tons of manufactuers that would love to work with you or might they like for you be partnered with them like zoom bait company or Berkley Powerbait or even Strike king , if youre ahunter same thing applies Smith & Wesson or Gamo or even Remington or Barreta might like to work with you but DONT BURN THE BRIDGE with the brand you work with.
In my early 30's I spent a lot of time around very financially successful men because of my business. I started asking what they did to achieve success. After several of these conversations I started asking these guys what they regret. Most of them said they sacrificed their family for financial success and were trying to establish the relationship with their grandkids that they didn't with their kids. Look down the road 5 yr, 10 yr, 20 yr. Does the road you're on lead where you want to be? Sounds like you've got great perspective. Love seeing the chair...miss the ol stove in the garage! Thanks for all your efforts to make content.

I would like to see more of hunters hunting with small bore guns like the 410 or 28. It's all I shoot now. I only hunt ducks, squirrel and maybe dove. I'll be 60 this Year and disabled but I still want to hunt.

Now I stay at Asia, I found many countries & people are chasing economic development - money; they destroyed wild lands, built a lot of factories & houses; guns & hunting got prohibited 🚫; even the capital punishment is death execution; horrible! the subsequent include more pollution, messy traffic, gambling, something related to the sexual & drugs, conflicts in society, cancer & strange diseases cases,.., whatever. Horrible!

Just found your channel today. I kinda laughed when you mentioned tic tox.. I was on it for a few days and guess they didn't like to see coyotes getting dumped... I'm gonna have to check out your videos.. sounds like you're into duck hunting and I use to do that alot. Now I just mostly do coyotes and fox and bow hunt. No time to duck hunt lol

Great video, Bobby. I don't watch much of your offseason content, but found myself drawn to this video title. Well said. Make great videos, be true to yourself and the rest will go where it will go.
As far as the drama, people always want to know the backstory, the worse the details, the more entertaining. It's human nature and social media has put a magnifying glass on it. Gossip is entertaining, whether we want to admit it or not, but it is up to the individual whether or not they want to engage or not. You could really crank up the views by airing your dirty laundry and I commend you on not going there.

As a man that tried eveyrthing possible to get company’s attentions when I was younger don’t worry about it if they really wanted you they would talk to you first yes it does help with duck hunting being experience heck I’m getting to the point to where I don’t even post many pictures of ducks anymore I want people to have to ask around instead of just clicking on my social media page to know who i am and what I’m doing kinda like it used to be growing up in the north west texas area close to Arkansas Arkansas was basically home during hunting season the wma’s wherent in the prime but they where still decent to hunt now because of social media arkansas will never be the same again and that hurts me man

I haven't been duck hunting that long but I agree the game has changed a lot in the last 5 years. My advice for people starting out a channel or brand is be in it to help people. There's lots of channels and brands out there for entertainment, but how can you help people
That is 100% why I started making duck calls. A good quality hardwood call is expensive, and I personally couldn’t afford it and I knew buddies who wanted one but couldn’t buy one. So I bought the wood and made my own, and kept them affordable for people like me

I have never duck hunted or eaten duck. I do hunt deer turkey pigs and shoot at and miss dove. I dont duck hunt purely because I've never ate it and don't want to kill a limit of ducks just to find out I really dont like duck. Having said that I watch your videos because I do find knowledge even if your primary quarry isn't what I'm after and your enthusiasm is contagious. Keep doing what your doing. Like I said im not likely to be a duck hunter but I still watch because I think your videos have both value and entertainment and from your face it looks like you might need to hear it or read it rather. I was a prostaffer for a call company, thought it would be cool. It wasn't. I was a unpaid sales guy, had a quota and had to dedicate x number of hours a month. That was in addition to my normal 9-5. I lost hunting time due to it. Dude, just go out enjoy the hunting, and don't try to get famous from it. The excitement looses.
Wish it was simple to do here in Ontario but unfortunately not to many hunter lovers here. All we get is a big NO..but would love to be doing the same thing here. Cheers brother.

Great as usual. When my brother and I started Wildfowling 50 odd years ago, there was nothing like to days information; only books that told of times past. So we learnt the hard way, but whatever we did we did it with confidence- not hoping to get something - but expecting to get something; and it worked. Very rarely returning with nothing. I get so "P - O" reading books by even modern writers that still do not explain how they got the ducks and geese; only that they had had a great flight. So I wrote a proper Wildfowling book that explains EVERYTHING, to help the future fowlers. You are doing the same thing, with no excuses why we hunt; explaining lots of details - missed by others. Sorry to go on, but I love Wildfowling in any form.
The hunting industry in Arkansas is failing the agfc doesnt listen to hunters advice to improve hunting for people they have blocked everywhere you could hunt where I live and made it were you have to walk 5 miles back into hunt when before you could drive to a corps of engineers gate walk a couple hundred yards sit down shoot a deer or hunt ducks and have no interest in helping the hunting industry they just keep adding more operations to the agfc like a feral hog taskforce to get rid of hogs instead of letting hunters hunt them all year round on public land they regulate it to were you cant hunt them in certain wmas when hunters are the reason they haven't over populated
AGFC is a crap show. They do not know how to manage anything except spend money on useless stuff that us hunters will do with our money like the ferel hogs ordeal.
@@robbygray9562 I know just like the dove field program they are trying to do asking farmers to lease land to them for 300 dollars an acre and have people enter a drawing system to be picked to hunt the farmers fields instead of updating and making the already available public dove fields and planting them with something other then wheat its ridiculous
Great video. I would advise anyone to think long and hard about making a hobby into a j-o-b. If you can, great good for you. Me, I haven't picked up a bow in thirty year after the sponsor thing turned something I enjoyed into a job. It also means that you can't be as honest as you want to be sometimes. You are repping them. You are the commercial. If the product is lacking, or there is something better...if you bust out your sponsor they are going to leave you.
If you have ever started a business you get this. About the time you get rolling, somebody wants to jump in on your game. OK, I'll entertain the idea, but you have to bring value, not just be taking, and then become competition. Why should I reveal to you all the tricks and tips that I learned the hard way? Unless you come value added, you really are not needed by me. So like Bobby said, build yourself first so that people need you. You don' t need them. Then the relationship is mutual and fair for both sides. Then, when the time comes to part ways. You can shake hands on that just like you did at the start.

All I watch is CZcams and baseball. The ones that put out the best content are the ones who like recording first and foremost. They would make videos even if it didn't pay. Two guys I watch, one has the best deer and turkey hunting content that no one knows about and he don't give a F about sponsorships. His money is made so, really I believe CZcams covers his gas and time. The other bass fishes and he barely has sponsors, but still pumps out great content. Then there are other guys where it all comes together, but they still love making the videos first. So put in the work first and the payoff sponsorship will follow. I'd also in todays setting mix up your content. If you want to be a hunting channel, put out videos when you're not hunting. If you're mowing the lawn tape it, put it up. Get views and subs anyway you can, the more daily content the more you eyes you'll draw.

To catch a fish by fair methods is a superior thing. I think this whole outfitter/guiding thing should be stopped. Hunting should be a personal thing, a family thing, and not a money making thing. It should be used to supplement a family's freezer and it is a tradition for families. The outfitters/guiders are diminishing that and making it a commercial thing, and it hurts us all. It reduces opportunities for citizens of a state and leads to massive corruption. I dis-applaud you and everyone who does this for money.
Outdoor industry is about who you know or much money you have, tell these kids to keep it a lifetime hobbie they can enjoy forever, and push them to learn a trade. Seems like all kids want to be a CZcamsr, influencer etc. i can see a drastic change in you as a person from your old videos and now you as a business owner.

Idk how you find the time for everything. I think I could make some killer deer hunting videos because I harvest big bucks every year. But harvesting and growing them every year is hard enough. Positioning a camera in the stand and learning how to edit my videos would be the death of me lol
