I don't know why but I really have a soft spot for ships with portruding towers/bridges such as the dauntless, providence and MC75. Glad to see a breakdown on it, I feel as if its often forgotten when compared to other iconic rebel ships.
Same here and it's one of (two) my favorite Soro Subs ships.
I always felt like protruding towers or bridges make an easy target for bombers.
@@princeofpokemon2934 Technically speaking they "should" be weak to bombers yes it's a target that literally sticks out like a sore thumb. Yet you do realize almost 90% of ship designs have the point defense and light laser systems purposely placed in overlapping fields of fire around the bridges. Not to mention some types of ship like ISDs have those shield bulbs up top that make the shielding up their the strongest.
The tower on the provi isnt its bridge, more like a comms towers, the profundity however is just a bad place to stick it, mc75s didnt have the PD coverage of dedicated warships.@@princeofpokemon2934

@@urmumisaho69 i did not say it was a good idea, I am referring to the fact that it happened. By the by, the revolution was fought between 1775 and 1783. As for 1812 (which really began before that) the Humphrys type frigates acquitted themselves quite well. Light Sloops were trying to play privateer with a few 6 pound field guns in a few cases.

I had no idea this ship used to be a luxury cruiser. Then again, most of the MC80 star cruisers used by the rebels used to be cruise ships or science vessels.
Most MC were used as biuldings that can be taken off planet in case of an evacuation
Huh, didn't know it was canonized, cool. Seems roughly weapons-wise like a match for a Victory II with a lot more PD guns and likely better shields and armor. Likely wouldn't win in a straight out slugfest with an ISD but very few ships in the Alliance Navy could other than MC Star Cruisers.
Seems weird to classify it as a battlecruiser though - I'd call it I guess a medium cruiser, maybe a heavy. That also could be nomenclature. It's definitely going to be beaten by an ISD based on weapons loadout, even if it has better shields/armor (which doesn't seem to be suggested).

As much as I love the ominous silhouette of an imperial fleet coming out of hyperspace,it makes a much more versatile fleet where every ship has basically unique load out of the rebel fleets
This is my favorite larger warship in Star Wars. In Legends the MC80s required a Mon Cal bridge crew to get their best performance and I always thought that was off for the main heavy warship of a movement dedicated to the idea of equality between species.
Kind of why in Legends the introduce the MC90 Line where the brigde crew can be for any Spieces

Yes spainish armada . In war time the state can requisition any civilian vessel , like in ww2 operation dynamo . ( evaluation at dunkirk) every yacht and fishing boat, capable was employed by the admiralty for the emergency. ( still the largest rescue operation ever i believe) 400k people.
Speaking of often ignored ships, Can you do the Bulwark MK II? its an interesting oddball in the star dreadnought size catagoryusd by the rebel alliance. As for the Dauntless I would imagine the powerful antenna would also make it very good at jamming comms and sensors, so even more ideal for ambushing imperial capital ships.
I love the Dauntless, It adds some diversity to the Alliance fleet and looks pretty nice

It also depends on what mod you play in Star Wars Empire at War. In Corey's Thrawn's Revenge it's so so. In AOTR it's a heavy hitter and a hell of a tank.

very good video and rebels were disparate to get any ship to fight the empire. even Admiral Raddus ships the Profundity and several others one of the class MC75 Star Cruiser were converted star liners. Even Admiral Ackbar HOME ONE was a converted ship it was a constructed as a civilian deep space explorer

I just wanted to say man, I really appreciate that you have kept your content the way it is for all these years, many SW channels that started almost the same as yours have deeply fallen from grace, people have turned divas that can't appreciate good stuff that comes from today's SW, yes, not everything has been good, but some other stuff is great.
I hope you keep the good work you do going, it's partly because of channels like Geetsly's, The Lore Master and yours that keeps me enjoying SW, so thank you man, for all these years of content.
Thanks I'll keep it up, I agree I just care about the lore. It's made up, no ontological issues, so if you really don't like something just ignore it. It isn't a political or religious belief that you really need to try to get right and should be objective about. Canon facts and legends facts are both just made up, and an element of contradiction and head canon always existed. So like if some new canon lore "ruins" the ARC-170 stats or something, I just ignore it and mention at the behind the scenes facts incase people care so they feel like they got all the lore, but they heard my coherent telling of it.
I do believe the Dauntless would be more heavily armed against capital ships, having 40 or 50 dual turbolaser batteries instead to more effectively rip apart ship hulls once the shields are down while also having 30 laser cannons and 50 point Defense cannons and the 30 ion cannons you mention, as for the countermeasures, I imagine those would be sensor jammers to disrupt guided ordinances such as missiles, with the point Defense weapons used for eliminating torpedoes or un-guided missiles besides the fighters.
This ship is one of my favorites in the Alliance Fleet, and I would sure have one of these heavy hitters in my own fleet, Still I do have the Mon Calamari cruisers as my favorites, but is always Nice to have extra capital grade firepower against the Imperial star destroyers

So much technology in the Star Wars universe and yet their shield deployment is still manually operated. Such a weird system. Like no one thought of implementing an auto shield activation upon detecting that the ship is being actively targetted ?

Hilarious that Star Wars fans know so little about sf they don’t get the joke… Star Wars was based heavily on EE Smith’s Lensman series of books. The most famous ship in the series was… the Dauntless, a super fast cruiser. The Starwars Dauntless even looks like the Chris Foss version of the ship from a book cover.

This ship is amazing to me, down to the shape. Ngl, if I had a ship like this, with a massive budget, you best believe I’d have had the ship modified with beskar plating, several turbo lasers, highly enhanced engines, and seismic charges to drop from the rear as the cherry on top.

I must admit there is something that feels really wrong with the concept of these refitted civilian ships, or underwater skyscrapers, being able to take on proper warships.

The very idea of an ISD *not* having its shields up 24/7 is now on my Top 10 List for "Most Obvious Use of Reverse-Plot Armor" that I've heard of in Star Wars.
Hey meta but to well anyone who reads this really I, I do know a game that would be interesting to try out at least but the platform is kind of funny for it, the game I am talking is called Project Stardust and it's a space game which right now has halo, star wars and space battleship Yamato. The game plays a bit like world of warships that you must pay to get the ships but you can pick and choice which faction and sub faction to go with and they try to make the game as close to the real thing they can but balanced, the game is on the platform Roblox but the ships and just how the game looks is great. I mean have you ever wanted to see a Sentor take on a Titan?

No you are not invited to royal events after paying 40 bucks. There is a real plot assigned to you you can lookup, and the charities they work with are legit according to 3rd party charity watchdog sites.

If you are unaware please be aware. Established titles is a full on scam, they can't sell the plots they say they are selling, it's already protected land, you don't get to be a lord just because you have land and they don't plant trees, they say but have yet to prove they donate to a charity that does. You are just making stuff up. Sounds like u watched a single trending vid from a guy who is misleading you. If you did watch that vid claiming its a scam let me break it down
He does all this sleuthing and mentions the claim they donate to charity, and does a whole spooky "but how could we trust them" kind of point.
I don't blame him fully though, if you are skeptical about a sponsor, which you should be, you should be skeptical about someone claiming to have done all the work for you and that they are on your side.
There is big youtube money in playing into people's grievances and telling them they were right, these ads are everywhere and people are annoyed. I get that part.
But you just have to go to the charity site mentioned and see that have planted over 2 million trees. And you and these sleuths don't even do what I did, a nice tip when you try to expose some real scam next time, u know someone could just start a company and a separate charity, and then donte to it.
That would have completely fooled u sleuths, so not only the people working u up on some moral outrage not look to see it the charity gets donations, they didn't do what I did, and look up the charity's background. It's been around since 1989 and 3rd party charity watchdog sites say give them an A rating.
As for the lord title. This is utterly mindblowing to me that people think they are rescuing people here. Nobody who bought this thought they were now some sort of royalty. It is one of the things ET is careful, at least with me idk if u heard some other youtubers lying, that you can change your name on things that you self report the name to and could have picked titles anyways, but examples were not your passport or license.
And you know, common sense. It is 1 sqft, anybody of age to actually buy this, has some sense that that's not how real estate works, if 1 ft made u a lord, every homeowner in Scotland has that title, and everything on the certificate shown to the site make it very clear this is a novelty gift.
They made a business model where you turn a silly gift idea into something that helps keep areas natural. You mentioned the land is preserved already, even if true, it is hilariously against your point as how could they buy it? There are sales like that all over the world where nobody would buy it because it is protected, so no development, but by purchasing it you give money to the goverment to buy more land to add to the preserves, and/or fund other conservation efforts. It's hilarious because you can't have both, if true, you can't ascribe any malice, they think you know you are spending money to preserve land, not really own it in the sense you can do anything with it.
For $50, you fund a company with the goal of buying land to keep natural, one of the oldest green charities in the world is happy to work with them, AND you even get a neat novelty gift you can hang on the wall. That no able minded person thought you were royalty? Like how do you not see the gag, who it's for, I'm dressed in a bathrobe with a gold Mando helmet saying ah now I'm a lord. But you get everything listed, so it is not a scam.

Established Titles is not a provider of any legit titles, their description is borderline scam. Also, Scottish "Laird" is equal to English "Baron" - they even failed to translate their own "product."
Fun fact: you don't need to pay scam artists to apply for a change or your first name which they basically tell you to do after purchase.
Somethign I never get is when peopel assume armamaents. I'm genuinely curious how you got these numbers and where from, because just thinking a ship has this amount when there are many osurces that explain its armament and fighting capabilities re out there.
