After marriage two mindsets should travel together, understand each other, with just little resources too enjoy well, onlything is compatibility should be there between both, otherwise no meaning to both the partners. In my view money plays very little role than compatibility of mindsets.

Nice story, thoughtfully listened to it entirely. That means somebody should work for money and enjoy with family, friends and hobbies after work hours. However, somehow, bad thinking comes in-between like, may loose job, children may not get success as expected, bank balance may not suffice for retired remaining life, ego to get lower salary job, fear of loosing money in business, what others may think about me and my status, etc, etc,.... I knew that those are temporary but still it pinches heart and soul. Anyway thank you for educating people.

Can't believe a genius like Gurdjieff does such stuff! About the ending -- losing out of living life for 25 years is ok, but ok to whom -- only to those who are attached to the materialistic world. For a spiritually oriented guy, doesn't matter where 1 lives, how the mind is behaving is the point point #2 : From so much knowledge n wisdom of reading all those book, Gurdjieff must be more intelligent n matured at the end than when he went in. There are billions of ppl in the world. He will get new friends. He can guide ppl into better living with his intelligence n knowledge. Suicide is stupidity point #3 : A better climax cud've been, Gurdjieff and the rich guy becoming friends, Gurdjieff not walking away with all the money, but instead they deciding to live together, enjoying the richness together as closest friends.
